Yes, we tried them for a while... we weren't impressed as we found the stuff wasn't as fresh as they claimed and also took longer to prepare and cook than they claimed. Gave up after the trial period.

The idea was to encourage our two sons to cook from scratch. Some of the dishes have got the thumbs up, some haven't. You're right about the times, although it's been the prep time that's taken them longer than claimed. Mind you, they are wearing the cooking equivalent of L-plates.

Beautiful sunny day for which I am grateful as past week has been dire.

Having found and settled, almost, on a property went for a viewing with builder/renovator chum. EEK! Owner, who either had dementia or preferred lies to truth, bitterly resented being asked questions. End result - back on the property search. Nice buyers can't wait to move in here, which would be fine and dandy if I could find a roof to go over my, Wolf, and Peachy's heads. So I have been spending hours on rghtmove/onthemarket etc and then driving round to spot estate agents lies - with 3 local ones I am almost at the stage of not visiting anything they are selling. Sometimes wonder why we pass legislation - they owe a duty to buyers to describe properties accurately so why am i driving miles to look at properties with undisclosed agricultural ties, rotting timber frames, mis-measured acreage?

I started this half an hour ago - then got a weird scammer on the phone claiming to be the Natwest fraud line! Took me a while to realise his was a crook but fortunately had my online account details up whilst he was talking and it didn't make sense - he had claimed £1500 had gone from account and when I asked why it didn't show on line claimed he had put it on hold in some way - got quite angry when I said "sorry - I'm going to ring my bank..." As I did so I froze my card and then fought my way through the wretched robot to a human being. So debit card now cancelled by the real fraud team. What a performance and thank goodness for once I have some cash in the house and I can use my credit card for anything major - but I'll be watching my bank account like a hawk for a week or two. Honestly I sometimes think keeping money, like a Victorian, in a sock under the bed would be better than the modern system...

Hope everyone having a better day than me so far - glad to see a nice cluster of HSs - congratulations all.
 
Morning everyone, starting today with a 5.1 which is a bit better than the 10.9 I went to bed on last night.

4.7 this morning for me.

Final day volunteering at Hatton Locks today, kind of sad as we have really enjoyed this season and now have to wait for the next season which starts at the end of next March. But, it was a lovely day with 5 boats we helped on the flight.

@Northerner - wishing you a speedy recovery. My SiL is still waiting for an appointment for her skin cancer but has finally got through to one of the consultant’s secretaries who assured her what she has “isn’t life shortening” and can be treated easily. The consultant is on holiday this week so she has another week of waiting to hear what they are going to do but at least is a little calmer now!

Was a 10 .2 for me this morning.Mind it has been canny all day.between low sixes and mid fives .Had flu jab today.All the best and a speedy recovery to@ Northerner. Congratulations to @Grannylorraine and @ColinUK on your Hs today.Well get this dog out for an hour.Then he's going in the shower when we get back . He's going to get a short back and sides tomorrow.Stay safe people
 
Good morning! Woke up for some reason do checked BG - 5.9 (my club). Strange curve is Iate late and faster absorbing carbs as the antibiotics are causing stomach discomfort and indigestion! Now is it stabilising or will I go hypo later?

Need to get back to sleep as early doors physio today.

Misty outside ready for the ghouls, zombies and vampires this evening.

Good morning everyone

BG 4.9 amazing since I've been night/evening nibbling a lot

Very bored at the moment as my wife won't go anywhere!!! Fed up really. Tired. Life should be fun but I've been served barbed wire to walk on -ALL MY WRETCHED LIFE!!! You wouldn't believe the c**p I've lived through from right at the very start! Sigh.

Today updating the church sound system user/technical manual (I wrote the first edition some years ago, so it needs updating). Oh, and I must go pick up my meds. Just shoved the rubbish bins out (such excitement). I'll feed the squirrels later on.

At least my BG is good.

Morning a 4.5 when walk up at 0430 then went to 4.2 whilst I dozed took 2 Dextrose and a 5.8 when finally emerged from my pit at 0615.So take your pick.
Lovely day yesterday driving through Welsh hills and a nice lunch in Corwen so very pleasant.
Off to Liverpool today so a complete contrast and then prepare for pinch and punch which I will lose again.
End of month so have a great November.

So sorry to hear of your current situation Gwynn.You obviously love your wife dearly and her life clearly has a major impact on your own.

I decided to have 2 x Rich Tea with a cuppa and woke to 6 1 at 5:30 so undecided if needed or not?
 
5.8 now (but did peak at 7.1 when I got up for the loo at 5 - unsurprising. I usually try not to eat after 8pm but had a bowl of berries and yoghurt last night around 10 whilst catching up with Strictly. I've watched every series since it started but wasn't going to bother this year. And yet, somehow, here I am!

Last day of work this week. Looking forward to having day tomorrow with my 14 year old who has been a bit of latch key child this half term. Mind you, unlimited computer and fish fingers in the air fryer: he feels he's living his best life!

Moving and Handling (followed by vaccine training) yesterday was as exciting as I expected it to be but at least the trainer was good so we had a bit of a laugh in between the moving and the handling.

Morning all. 7.1 here.

Nothing much to report. I had a couple of hours in Tenby yesterday, just doing the charity shops and enjoying some time to myself. No firm plans so far for today...
