True story. Many years ago a couple in the village went away for six months. They asked my neighbour/friend to keep a check on their bungalow . One day their burglar alarm was ringing so she went over. Peeked in the windows and was shocked to see the place was in an uproar, clothes hanging out of drawers, stuff lying all over the place. but no sign of a break in. She called them and explained. They then had to admit they’d left it like that! And ever since then I’ve always left my house immaculate! We still laugh about it now.You joke but cousins of mine once had burglars break in whilst they were away. The house was always such a mess that all the burglars did was tidy up a bit, so the washing up and make a sandwich before leaving!
I guess this will vary across the country. My GP Health Centre have told me that they don’t look after T1s and prefer to have them under hospital care. However, if you are stable and not asking for any help for adjustments, etc. then my GP are ok with having me just in their care. The hospital however are more than happy to keep me under their care as they said it is always useful as they are up to date with any developments, technology or smart insulins, etc. and therefore if anything comes along it would be easy for me to get onto it.I've never had a consultant and i don't have a DSN now either. I was diagnosed T1 by the DSN who works for the Community Trust and was transferred back to GP care during Covid when the HbA1c was a better level.
Should all T1s be under a Consultant/hospital DSN?
Thank you anyway Mike.I have no way of knowing I’m afraid @Wirrallass
You’d have to check your BG levels I suppose, and see if you observed any effects?
We visited Monet’s Gardens five years ago whilst on our five week European tour in Camille. We stayed in a gîte in Giverny next door to the graveyard where he’s buried. It was literally a short walk to his home and garden, we spent all day there. What a beautiful place, although his house didn’t appear to have a bathroom/loo! Don’t think any of the above paintings of his were painted whilst he was in residence in Giverny! I agree though, your favourite is amazing.Morning all. 5.8
Monet exhibition at the Courtauld yesterday was beyond breathtaking. I’m not a huge Monet fan but having 21 of his Thames Views paintings hanging in the same intimate space was amazing. That man sure could paint.
Opera in the evening was also a win. Puccini wrote it as one of a triple bill that would be presented as a tryptic in a single performance but here it’s just Suor Angelica that’s being staged. It’s gut wrenching intense and it was only 55 minutes from start to finish. Cast were resting for an hour and then they were doing a second performance!

Monet basically lived at the Savoy and passed the view from his balcony and other places around the river. None of the paintings were completed in situ but he’d take the unfinished canvases home and finish them there, sometimes ten years after starting.
He said that he could only paint for about 5 minutes a time in London as it would always rain but the thing he loved most was the fog as it would make the buildings into mysterious shrouded shapes.

This one is the one I’d have gladly tagged home with me. It stopped me in my tracks and I just stood there in front of it for easily twenty minutes. I even had a tear running down my cheek at one point. It’s just so so beautiful even if not “pretty”.
