Group 7-day waking average?

8 exactly this morning, I over slept despite going to sleep between 8.30 and 9 last night. Feeling tired all day, but I am going round in ever decreasing circles at the moment, but I know I will get back on it with good eating and numbers improving, just not sure when that is goi g to happen.

Seeing you talk about holidays we are off to St Stephen’s (near St Austell) in September so only just over 2 weeks away, booked a 2 bedroom barn conversion as we have mum with us so I needed at least one bedroom and a bathroom downstairs. Planning on visiting Looe, Polperro, Perranporth and Mevagissey.

It has nothing to do with the diabetes but I had a bad sports injury which required the same operation as Andy Murray had but I had mine some time ago.
Must admit it has proved to be a fantastic decision( at the time they had not done many of these hip resurfacing ones) and I have had no problems whatsoever and gave me my life active life back and it is a 20 year follow up appointment.
Eggy am in Caernarfon next week and your offer is tempting but you must if you have time go on the North Wales railway but enjoy your trip.
I could stay in a hotel if I am on Anglesey/ Lleyn etc but I always just drive home as it would place a lot if pressure on my wife if away in looking after pooches.

We’re not going until end of September! We’ve been on the train up to Snowdon many years ago it was blowing a gale on the top! Very frightening and this was end of May! Is that a different railway?

There’s nothing in the area but we are not bothered one jot about shops or pubs. I can’t eat out anyways. Fingers crossed for half decent weather. It’s not Madeira but we’ll be away and that’s all that matters.

@Grannylorraine sorry your feeling tired at the moment, glad your looking forward to your forthcoming holiday, I can’t believe it’s now almost September 😳

That part of the Cornish coast you talk about, is gorgeous my parents used to love going down there especially Looe & Mevagissey,
just watch out in Mevagissey that a seagull doesn’t swoop down and take your lunch away
 
@DianeD Your fabulous travel insurance quote made me look at Money Supermarket and see what they come up with for me. Worldwide. Including USA. This is the lowest quote they gave me.

Then I added Cruise cover (just incase...) plus Hijack cover because it was an option and this was the lowest. I didn't even know hijack cover was an option... and I don't really think I need it because if I was on a hijacked anything then I could unleash my inner Action Hero and save the day! But this was the cheapest:

We’ve been to Portmerion but are definitely going to visit it again. Even though it gave me the Heebie Jeebies! I remember quite clearly watching The Prisoner when I was a child and it been very spooky!

Morning all. 5.3 o this very wet and very, very blustery morning. Ernesto is in the wings somewhere!

And of course, when the weather is as bad as today I’m getting my hair cut and coloured, and then meeting youngest daughter, and Zara and Eden, for lunch and a mooch around the town as it’s daughter’s birthday soon and she wants clothes. Fingers crossed Ernesto does one soon.

PS we gave in last night. It was a horrible cold and blustery day yesterday too.

Morning all, 7.2 here, jelly baby assisted, when I woke at 3am heading South. Ate two, one would have done, especially as in the dark I couldn’t see what colours I was picking, and got a green one second. 😱
 
Morning a 6.1 for me and very blustery and as everyone is saying Autumnal but don’t mind at all.
Third time this week going to Wales so will be bilingual soon but more important to understand the lunch menu and order Welsh rarebit rather than my usual cheese on toast lol.
Whatever you have for lunch and whatever you get up to enjoy

following some shocking spikes yesterday evening (shot up to 14.4)

I’m finding the freestyle Libre a fantastic tool
having tried it I can see how these sensors especially now they are CGM have the potential to be a game changer in diabetes management

On reflection I suppose not unexpected that my levels sky rocketed yesterday, I ate a high protein low calorie ready meal, without a thought as to checking the carb content, next time will eat just half a portion

as I said yesterday, I’m going to somehow try to appeal
just in case there is any chance I can get a sensor on prescription

so if I don’t get a reply back from the DSN/ Consultants messaging service today
will follow up with another voicemail

in the meantime I guess I will need to buy next month’s supply myself
after all I’m sure nothing will happen in a hurry

an alternative is I’ve just managed to find the Dexcom free trial
so will also also try them, although initially they appear slightly cheaper
as the sensor only lasts 10 days, I’m not so sure they are ?

Im impressed with Abbott and the way they sent me a second sensor FOC
after I called them telling them it was constantly loosing connection / was having an issue with it reconnecting to my phone

5.8 this morning, which has dawned dull, grey and blustery. Rained overnight, too. Think I'll drive down to Morrisons to pick up the newspaper (2 actually, as our local's out on a Thursday) and some fresh strawberries rather than get blown to bits walking there and back.

Have started packing for our week in Cornwall. My wife and I are travelling tomorrow, stopping at Clarkes Village in Street for lunch and to do some shopping, then pushing on for an overnight stop at a hotel just outside Exeter, and then on to Fowey on Saturday morning. (Our two boys and our eldest's girlfriend are travelling Saturday). Looking forward to Sunday's "Smite World Championships" in St Neot, the highlight of our week, which we've been taking part in for 10 years now and which attracts well over a hundred players.

This is Smite, for anyone who's curious as to what it is:-

Today is our youngest's last day at Sainsbury's and he seems relieved to be leaving. He's been finding it quite stressful for a while as they always seem to be short-staffed at busy times. He's a supervisor but finds himself having to fill in here and there because there's no one else. He's already applied for 2 jobs and his Optalis Support Worker has come up with some more for him to look at. At least he has a week in Cornwall to relax and unwind.

Just seen the forecast for tomorrow. It seems my wife and I will be driving west into a howling gale...!
