Group 7-day waking average?

5.8 this morning, which has dawned dull, grey and blustery. Rained overnight, too. Think I'll drive down to Morrisons to pick up the newspaper (2 actually, as our local's out on a Thursday) and some fresh strawberries rather than get blown to bits walking there and back.

Have started packing for our week in Cornwall. My wife and I are travelling tomorrow, stopping at Clarkes Village in Street for lunch and to do some shopping, then pushing on for an overnight stop at a hotel just outside Exeter, and then on to Fowey on Saturday morning. (Our two boys and our eldest's girlfriend are travelling Saturday). Looking forward to Sunday's "Smite World Championships" in St Neot, the highlight of our week, which we've been taking part in for 10 years now and which attracts well over a hundred players.

This is Smite, for anyone who's curious as to what it is:-

Today is our youngest's last day at Sainsbury's and he seems relieved to be leaving. He's been finding it quite stressful for a while as they always seem to be short-staffed at busy times. He's a supervisor but finds himself having to fill in here and there because there's no one else. He's already applied for 2 jobs and his Optalis Support Worker has come up with some more for him to look at. At least he has a week in Cornwall to relax and unwind.

Just seen the forecast for tomorrow. It seems my wife and I will be driving west into a howling gale...!

Enjoy your day.

5.2 this morning for me! Surprised as during most of the night it was around 6, but obviously dropped a bit in the early hours.

Different day yesterday at Hatton Locks, there was an emergency repair needed on a lock gate which meant they had to drain a pound to get to it. Took about 4 hours by which time there was a queue of boats - 5 stuck in the flight below the stoppage and 15 at top lock waiting to come down! So we were very busy helping to clear the backlog when the flight was reopened!

Have a good day everyone!

A 5.0 for me this am. Bloomin' cold earlier on so had to put the heating on for a while. 😱

Morning all.7.6 on this cool, wet and windy day. Nothing planned apart from sorting my wardrobe.

@Lily123 good luck with your results.
@Eternal422 congrats on the HS

Good morning 5.9

Nasty grey damp morning here. Cold enough last evening to warrant lighting the wood burner. Overnight a touch of yellow has entered the beech leaves and flowers look battered and faded. Autumn is here.

Quite like the bungalow with 7 acres I saw yesterday. Needs solar panels and a stable block. Oh and a garden as the only thing growing was Himalayan Balsam. Good view to South over upper Towy Valley. Could be made quite nice. Just need a buyer...

Have a good day all.

We’re not going until end of September! We’ve been on the train up to Snowdon many years ago it was blowing a gale on the top! Very frightening and this was end of May! Is that a different railway?
We went up Snowdon on the train but when it was time to go back they said it was too windy and we could get off the train and return in three quarter of an hour, not a lot to do on the top of Snowdon in the wind and mist. We duly went back but still too windy so back into the visitors centre where they offered a free drink. They then announced the visitors centre would be closing so we all trouped back to the train where we sat for another hour. I had visions of us having to walk down and wondered what they would do with the people who couldn't and there were quite a few.
Still I can say I have done it after trying several times before but couldn't because of weather or the train wasn't running.

Morning

8.3 after quiche for my dinner last night. Like most of you today is blustery, with sunshine and showers, hope it is not too bad to walk back from my mums later.

Congratulations to @Lily123 on getting the results you needed. Good luck for the future.

@Eternal422 congratulations on your HS.

@Martin.A - enjoy Cornwall, I haven’t been for about 15 years, so excited to go in a couple of weeks.

@Lily123 .....congrats from me as well. What are you going to do at A level?

😎😎😎
Thanks, I’m doing History, Psychology and Philosophy & Ethics.

Good morning! 7'4 today.

Had an enjoyable but intense 2 days off that included writing club, book club, dinner with a friend, playing a bit of casual football (no, I didn't expect that either!) and binge watching the second season of Heartstopper. That series is adorable. Now back to work.

Morning everyone, a happy 5.4 for me earlier this grey and blustery August morning.

Have a good day everyone and don’t get blown away…

Good morning - it was grey and lashing down when I first got up, but the overcast has thinned and sun is now trying to break through.

5.6 this morning with a lovely flat line and 100% TIR. Seems my HCL has at last learned something. Only time out of range yesterday was after lunch (a bacon and fried egg sandwich) when BG hit the dizzy heights of 10.9, but was quickly brought down.

The bone density scan turned to comedy when the bed refused to lower to let me off, so there I am like a beached whale lying on the bed, whilst several people fiddled with the electrics, the computer and physically tried to get the bed down. They wouldn't countenance me rolling off and dropping down to the floor, feet would have been only a foot off it. In the end they brought a set of steps. No idea of the result. That will be communicated via my GP in 10 - 14 days. Took an hour to drive home in traffic. Ah well, off for my B12 injection this afternoon. That's medical appointments 3 days in a row!

Met friends in the local when we got home. On the way out we stopped to greet some neighbours from up the road who told us they were taking her "very elderly mother" on holiday. It transpired the very elderly mother was a year younger than me!!!! I despair....

Keeping my fingers crossed for a sensor prescription for @goodybags and a buyer for @TinaD

Congratulations to @Lily123 on your exam results and to @Eternal422 on your HS.

Seems like half the contributors of the thread are making their way to Cornwall in the next week or so... I am far west of where you are heading. Hope you have nice holidays.

Have a good day all!

Ooh! Where did you get it? I used to love Vanilla Coke Zero but can't find it anywhere now :(
Sometimes Aldi have it, if not try places like B&M, Home Bargains, Farmfoods. If you’ve got any of those near you. I hate vanilla but love the Lime Diet Coke, I can’t always get it in the big supermarkets but the above places randomly have it on occasions.
