Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all - no change in the weather.

6.8 this morning. I was woken by the PDM alarm at 8:15 which told me that I had an "Omnipod 5 app error" and said if it happened again to ring customer services. It sounded a bit dire and as it was the 2nd time it happened I was somewhat disturbed and couldn't even think of going back to sleep. Bit annoyed as I had not got to bed until gone 1am due to watching "Girl with a dragon tattoo" on TV rather than catch-up. To cut a long story short I rang Insulet and for once got someone who could speak reasonable English. It seems the error is not as dire as the warning and it's the pod rather than the PDM and I might have had to remove the pod, which is due to be changed this morning anyway. I wish they wouldn't put the frighteners up you!

Anyway, last night's chicken, leek and bacon pie was delicious, especially the suet puff pastry... am chuffed to bits to have found the pastry recipe! We have half the pie left over for dinner tonight.

It's a big day in Penzance today, being Montol - or the celebration of the winter solstice. Lots of parades with lanterns and flaming torches after dark and madness and foolery taking place all over town with people in weird outfits . We're going to meet our friends in town this afternoon. We will watch our friend singing in her choir outside the Turks Head pub at 5:30 then I think we will come home and avoid the crowds.

@eggyg I so envy you that garlic, the stuff in the supermarkets recently has been dire. I also wish you a lovely party this evening and I am sure that as usual you will love having the granddaughters overnight. Glad Mr eggy doesn't have to visit hospital this weekend as MIL has other sons taking the load off him.

@MeeTooTeeTo congratulations on the HS.

Have a super Saturday everyone and most important have fun!

Had a pleasant evening at the local amateur radio club last night,
Which club are you in? I've tried a couple but club life isn't for me hihi.

At least not local clubs. I'm in a few national/WW CW clubs and also G-QRP which are good fun.

But yes, getting out and doing stuff is always good.

Fingers crossed you get the outcome you want from all of this. Sounds like your DSN is onside at least.

Morning all. A 5.9 for me and an unusually steady line.

Nothing planned for today. I shall be up and out early tomorrow to get my veg/cream etc but we don't need much ad its just the two of us this year. It will feel very strange.

@eggyg the garlic looks amazing. I've never heard of pink garlic, does it have a slightly different taste?

@PattiEvans the ceremony looks good fun. Have a good time.

@Bloden pupdate pics please.

@MeeTooTeeTo congrats on the HS.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning all twas the Saturday before Christmas and alls well 🙂
5.9 this morning.
Congratulations to all superstars managing BG levels
Enjoy all the celebrations this season, keep well and warm.

I joined the Bromsgrove & District Amateur Radio Club, it’s the closest one to me at around 30 mins drive away. It seems like lots of local clubs are folding, but the guys here are great and there’s a lot of experience for me to tap into as a newbie. They are planning more in the way of activities and talks for next year, so I’m keeping contact with them as that will be interesting. If it’s just chit chat then I won’t be going every week, I’d rather spend the time on the radio! They have a good shack and great HF beam antenna on a tower but I need a full license holder there to use it so at the moment I’m not getting any benefit from that.

I did a talk earlier this year for one of the clubs I've dabbled in on astrophotography. Went down pretty well.

I've managed to do pretty well outside of a local club for the vast majority of the time I've held my licence though and decided to keep it that way 🙂

Just trying to get my CWOPS class together but so far only have one student confirmed!

Hello everyone! 8'7 this morning. Might try upping the bedtime Levemir one more unit.

The day has come. I'm flying to Spain to spend Christmas with my family. Can't wait to see them :starstruck: there might be some disruptions to the flight because of a storm, according to Ryanair, so wish me luck!

Regarding diabetes management, my numbers are still not where I want them, but I feel I'm getting better habits. I'm more consistent with injections and more comfortable taking them, also taking the time to count carbs and calculate doses accordingly instead of picking a random number between 2 and 4 units 😛 Of course the next week will involve a lot of guessing as most meals will be out or cooked by others. My dad already booked a pizza place for tonight, very late, not the easiest meal to start! But a week is not going to make a massive difference and I want to enjoy the food and the company. I'll try to keep carbs lower at breakfast, check the carbs information when it's available and try my best at guessing when it's not.

Have a great time! Good luck with the flights, have a safe journey.

Afternoon all!

6.2 for me this morning (was a morning reading though only posting now).

Quiet, lazy day planned as I'm working full days Christmas Eve-Eve, Christmas Eve and until 1.30 on Christmas day so enjoying a spot of quiet family time whilst I can!

Congrats on the HS, @MeeTooTeeTo

And it was a 4.7 for me on waking this grey morning....

Have a good rest of the day folks.

I woke up at 8.8 this morning after a marathon sleep from 3 p.m. yesterday until 7.15 a.m. - a long time for me.

We're supposed to be going for a xmas meal today, but I don't make much of the strong breeze here - I get very breathless in the gentlest of breezes, so I'm not looking forward to getting anywhere near the coast today!

Congratulations to @MeeTooTeeTo on today's HS.
The breeze wasn't too bad after all as we were a little way away from the sea-front, and the car was parked out of the wind. The meal was excellent and we didn't have to pay a penny either! I had the fish & prawn and roasted potatoes, and choice veg, followed by a wicked suet Xmas pud and custard!

As for the breeze... It just goes to show that overthinking something isn't necessarily a good thing.

@Leadinglights - thought you might be interested in this photo. This was my son back in 2012 showing some of his stained glass work to the then Prince Charles :

Brilliant, I understand he is a great supporter of traditional crafts. What an honour for your son.
Indeed it was. Sadly he moved on from that job and is now working in video games as a designer, so still a creative/artistic career, but no longer so traditional 🙂

You never know he may take it up as a hobby in the future. I am completely self taught and started making lamps mainly for the house and for a few friends. But when I retired I was making smaller things like suncatchers and small panels which I sell in a few craft shops. I probably don't charge enough but do cover my materials but no way can you price things to cover your time. But I just love doing it.

Good Eve of Christmas Eve Eve everyone!

5.9 this morning. Did nothing at all yesterday. Didn’t go anywhere. Didn’t bake anything. Didn’t do anything bar lounge around and read all day. It was bliss!
