Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all, 5.6 here.
Had a good day in Oxford yesterday with daughter, had a look at the Christmas market, not particularly exciting, but at least they were back to the traditional wooden huts this year. Last year they just had farmers market style tables and awnings, a burger stall, and no atmosphere. Had my favourite lunch in Ole & Steen, smoked salmon on rye bread, and the sum total of my shopping spree was a shirt for OH in Primark, and a large glass measuring jug with pints as well as litres marked on the side.

morning all
9.00 for me which is high for me
EDIT
Nurse came and BG was 7.1 thats the 3rd time its gone down after breakfast I will never understand the diabetic fairys reasoning

Morning folks. 7.4 here.

Fiiiiinal shop before Xmas today - mum wants a few bits n pieces and I still haven’t got hubby many presents. A nice bottle of wine and a black t-shirt are on my list. He only wears black, black, black (Fast Show sketch), but I might get dark blue and see how he reacts!

Morning

5.5 and a congested throat, off to see the nurse this morning, then back to decorating cakes as still got 5 to do, they are all covered in marzipan now so will just work my through them today, tomorrow and Sunday as I want Monday free for housework and last bit of shopping. At least all the presents are wrapped.

A 5.3 for me this morning. 🙂

Good moaning/morning! After an awful night waking repeatedly with Phantom Pain slept on to wake to a 3.8 (3.9 meter).

No appointment today (thank goodness). Non-critical rearranged one rearranged from last week will now be next year. A few cards to do and check Sunday's supermarket delivery - last for over a week.

Cloudy and very cold.

6.9 this morning when I first woke to take my basal. This morning was/is an experiment as what is the ideal (BG). An amount of milky porridge to avoid an alarming spi (+20); it has been reduced by half a bowl to less than half a small bowl, if that makes any sense?

Hope you have a good day whatever you get up to. We might get the tree assembled.

Good morning 7.2 which, considering how rough I felt yesterday, is OK, indeed rather a relief.

Nearly finished moving all my stuff into storage. Bookcases, display cupboards and contents, cooking utensil, together with "best" china and glass, remain for the final post Christmas purge. You guessed it the family are coming for Christmas...Today's tasks order beef, build crate for pictures, fix electric fence unit...

Hope everyone doing well - I case I get too snowed under I wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a splendid Hogmanay. After that, hopefully, like AS "I'll be back"

Good Morning forum friends 5.5 today

Update on my foot, yesterday afternoon I did got seen at the foot clinic (within the hospital) which was a relief, although they weren’t 100% happy with what Mrs @goodybags had done (to look after my toe over the weekend) the Podiatrist kind of said she understood under the circumstances why we did what we did, and it’s not infected anyway which is a relief, obviously they dressed it, showed me how to look after it and gave me the needed dressings and an offloading shoe again
so will be attempting to take things slightly easier, whilst toe recovers (silvernitrate dressing this time rather than inadine, I'm told this should aid fast healing) 🙄

I had also noticed as @PattiEvans mentioned yesterday that @Martin.A hadn't been on since the middle of last week also @BobbleHat has been absent a few weeks hope they are both well :thankyou:

Have a Terrific Tuesday everyone 😎
Oh, thank you for asking after me. I genuinely feel really touched that you noticed I wasn't around.

Absolutely no concerns - just the usual busy days with work and not realising how many days I'd missed. Part of it is that I've been spoiled with using a CGM for nearly 2 months but that's all done with now. I'm back to old fashioned finger pricking (or I should be - haven't really got a pattern back with it hence not posting as I don't always have a number to post as I forget!) I do need to find my flow with it all again. The CGM was so useful at helping me learn to manage my diabetes and I was (am) so proud of my hba1c results and, whilst I'm not going 'off the rails' because my eating pattern is well ingrained now, I can see without some degree of accountability, how easy it would be to drift gradually back to the bad habits.

Proof: 6.9 this morning (but after my first cuppa when I remembered I was trying to be more structured about testing!)

Youngest breaks up for Christmas today and has a half day so we're off out for a celebratory tea all together.

Hope everyone is well and not too stressed in these last few days before Santa's visits!

5.3 this morning for me.

My head is still floating around about my diabetes classification and treatment. I’m not going to entertain coming off insulin onto Metformin and Dapagliflozin as before on Metformin my HbA1c doubled, I accept the Dapagliflozin would reduce the highs to prevent this, but then I’m guessing I would end up with little glucose “fueling” me and maybe then down the route of fat metabolism with resulting ketones? That’s one of the questions for my DSN on Monday.

Sorry everyone for my whinging, please know that being able to write this on here is a big help to my mental health. You folks are brilliant!

@eggyg - sending prayers, positive thoughts and hugs to you all. You must all be going through it at the moment and with Christmas on top of it all you must be running at 100mph and not know which way is up.

Take care everyone and for those working, you’re almost there!

Quick leaky pipe update.Called a local plumber who came out within 30 minutes and actually seemed to know what he was doing and actually looked under and in the kitchen cupboards where we told him it was wet.
He soon found it was a slight break in the pipe leading to the dishwasher which we don’t use caused by wear and tear and he simply moved it from next to a piece of wood which was in contact with it and causing the tear.
Job done and water back on all in 15 minutes so have cancelled the 2nd British Gas guy who was coming around ( the 1st insisted it was coming from within a solid wall hence needing the leak detection expert.).
OK it has cost us a call out charge but a small price to get water again. Will be looking to cancel my service agreement with British Gas as this local firm have a similar scheme but much cheaper.

Morning all. I'm joining a few others with a 6.9.

Today i need to change bedding and get washing done then dust and vaccuum round. Christmas prep, i just need to buy my veg, cream etc which hopefully will be on Sunday. Mum's gift is the only one thats not been wrapped and delivered. I've made up a hamper of treats and things she likes but as she's still in hospital i've left the gift for now as some things need to be kept in a fridge. I'm really hoping (as is she) that she'll be out for Christmas. She's been in for four weeks when she went in for what she was told would be a day procedure.

@eggyg sending you hugs and good wishes. You have so much going on.

@Eternal422 big hugs to you too.

@Wendal i'm glad you got the water pipe sorted.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all and 8.3 for me. Work in progress again but a nice flatfish overnight, just started a bit high.

Sensor change yesterday. The old one stopped working 5 mins before its due time with the try again in 10 mins message. I think I might get short shrift from Abbots if I reported that one.

Just got a text from the pharmacy to say prescription ready. That'll be the Creon

Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone. I’m back in the 4’s again today with a 4.4 and that was with two squares of dark chocolate and a chocolate chip muffin for supper last night.

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

Morning all (yes, it is still - just). Grey again and it was tipping down earlier, but is now dry.

7.1 this morning.

Well, as I said yesterday, we were hopeless at the quiz, getting a grand total of 17.5 out of 45. Mind you the team of 6 on the next table only got 4 more than us. The winners got 35. All the music questions were country and western and I have no interest in that style.

Nothing on today and since I've wrapped all the presents etc etc I am at a bit of a loose end, apart from making a chicken, leek and bacon pie for dinner tonight and tomorrow.

Good to see @TinaD and @BobbleHat posting again and glad they are both OK.

@eggyg sending positive vibes to you and Mr eggy. A friend of ours had delirium caused by a UTI but he pulled through, here's hoping Mr eggy's mum will do the same.

Good to hear @Wendal has got his pipes fixed.

Last but not least hoping @Eternal422 will gain some peace of mind from Monday's chat with the nurse.

So do take care everyone and have a fabulous Friday!

Managed to put things to one side in my head and just made these rum truffles as part of a present for my mum. It was her recipe originally so hopefully she will approve and like them!

Kind of feels like I am joining the ranks of @eggyg, @PattiEvans, @ColinUK and many others here, although not up to their standards!

5 for me this morning just been out for fish and chips for lunch, was very nice but I didn't eat many chips and scrapped off a lot of the batter nothing much to do today now except wrap a few last minute presents hope everyone has a good day what's left of it

6.9 this morning when I first woke to take my basal. This morning was/is an experiment as what is the ideal (BG). An amount of milky porridge to avoid an alarming spi (+20); it has been reduced by half a bowl to less than half a small bowl, if that makes any sense?

Update, the amount of oats was 1 1/4 cups, and the spike was 14.7 from a base of 7.7. Next time (in about 2 months) I'll measure the oats properly. TIR is 87%.

The tree is assembled and standing in the bay window; all we have to do now is decorate it, and then the room.

Hi everyone! 7'2 again this morning.

Bit of a weird day as I've been off work for 3 days and I only have an evening shift today, before going away on holiday tomorrow. Didn't have anything really planned today other than waiting for the evening to arrive. I did some cleaning, laundry was done yesterday and I'm almost done with packing. I'm about to take a nap, after I plan to leave the house a bit early and make a last stop in the local Christmas market for a hot chocolate on my way to work.

Very excited to go home :care::party:
