Group 7-day waking average?

5.3 this morning for me.

My head is still floating around about my diabetes classification and treatment. I’m not going to entertain coming off insulin onto Metformin and Dapagliflozin as before on Metformin my HbA1c doubled, I accept the Dapagliflozin would reduce the highs to prevent this, but then I’m guessing I would end up with little glucose “fueling” me and maybe then down the route of fat metabolism with resulting ketones? That’s one of the questions for my DSN on Monday.

Sorry everyone for my whinging, please know that being able to write this on here is a big help to my mental health. You folks are brilliant!

@eggyg - sending prayers, positive thoughts and hugs to you all. You must all be going through it at the moment and with Christmas on top of it all you must be running at 100mph and not know which way is up.

Take care everyone and for those working, you’re almost there!
hope your DSN is supportive of you when you meet/speak on Monday - I took a interest in what you posted as sometimes I think we just know what’s right for us,
my GP & DSN were trying to get me off insulin, in my case ok I needed a reduction in the amount of insulin (I realised that and through using CGM) which incidentally I had previously been denied on prescription
But was in the end successful in obtaining it, was relieved hen the Diabetic Consultant (endocrinologist) at the hospital agreed with me (at least until I see him next) then we will review it again

My dad used to have a saying “if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it”
hope it all works out for you @Eternal422

Thank you so much for this. I agree with you, after a while we all get to know our own bodies and how they respond. It does make me wonder if there is a push to get people off insulin, which I assume is more expensive than the various oral meds? Hopefully it will go well for me on Monday and I can keep insulin and the CGM regardless of how I am classified. I do hope the same goes for you too!

Morning a 6.4 for me and a good line after the normal Friday Pizza and managing the insulin with two after doses as low going into meal and don’t like taking any insulin before a meal if 5 or below and dropping as be quite sensitive to the insulin.
Yesterday was lovely with water back on and had lots of hot drinks and heating on as house was so cold from day before.
Quiet day planned and about to have a nap after walking dogs which we missed out in yesterday so wind down to Xmas though am working next week but TBH is very pleasant.
Have a great w/ end

Good morning everyone

BG 5.4

Blood pressure slightly raised...

Yesterdays practice went well. Today two more home practices and then the 'big' practice at the church this evening before the carol service tomorrow morning. I am slightly nervous.

No decorations in our house... no sign of my daughter. Sigh

Have a great day today whatever you are doing

8.5 today. A little higher than I would like however I'm still getting used to how different foods/carbs affect things.

Off to the sister in law's today and she always cooks a mean roast but will involve such delicacies as mashed butter and cream with a bit of potato and a killer dessert so no idea what I'll need!

Morning all. 7.1! That’s a bit high for me. I can only think it’s because we didn’t eat until 8pm.

A bit of disjointed day yesterday, unexpected visitors at 11am. Our “ French” family who are home for the festive season. They brought us a hamper of French goodies, including a string of fresh pink garlic. I always buy it when we visit them, it’s just the best garlic ever, knocks our supermarket dry and foisty stuff into a cocked hat! ( What exactly does that mean?) I was very excited and it has pride of place in my kitchen. I’m very easy pleased! They didn’t leave until after 1 so lunch was late then Mr Eggy had to dash to the hospital for the afternoon visiting slot. Daughter number 1 said the girls would be coming to stay. Their other grandma brought them just before 6. They had leftover lasagne for their tea but we weren’t hungry as we had a late lunch, and TBH I’d picked all day as I was baking/cooking for tonight. I was in bed just after the girls at 9.30! Two youngest granddaughters ( 3 years and 10 months) coming after lunch to stay the night too and we’re having our “works” Christmas party. The employers outnumber the employees! It’ll keep our mind off other things. Brothers in law taking over the visiting this weekend, Mr Eggy been everyday for 10 days. They need to up their game. :(

Have a super Saturday, hope you’ve all got your presents bought and wrapped and can relax a bit. I wouldn’t like to be battling the shops and or supermarkets today. In all honesty it might be a doodle compared to battling strong willed granddaughters.😛

Good morning! Lay in as another disturbed night. Woke to 7.0 that became 8.2 FOTF.

Last couple of cards as ran out of stamps but search uncovered some 1st class with King Charles's mum that weee cheaper than his 2nd class ones. It was last chance to edit supermarket order for Christmas and I forgot eggs - not the Easter ones than will probably appear Friday!

Looks like snow clouds but too warm (8C)!

6.2 for me
you all have a good day

Morning

A slightly higher 6.2, think I am coming down with a cold, also had pizza for tea yesterday which I have not had for months. I have to go to the supermarket today, well I will do if hubby ever gets up as he needs to leave for work at 12.30. I might go to my k it and natter later but depends how bad the rain is, and I still have 2 Christmas cakes to ice and decorate, but as they are for my mum and daughter in law, I have time left to do them as I will give them to them when I see them Christmas Day.

Congratulations to @MeeTooTeeTo on your HS.

I woke up at 8.8 this morning after a marathon sleep from 3 p.m. yesterday until 7.15 a.m. - a long time for me.

We're supposed to be going for a xmas meal today, but I don't make much of the strong breeze here - I get very breathless in the gentlest of breezes, so I'm not looking forward to getting anywhere near the coast today!

Congratulations to @MeeTooTeeTo on today's HS.

4.7 today for me.

Had a pleasant evening at the local amateur radio club last night, just chatting but good to catch up with folks again. It helped improve my mood around all of this uncertainty at the moment.

House cleaning today and not planning on venturing out.

Congratulations @MeeTooTeeTo on your HS!

Hope the promised winds aren’t too bad for everyone today.

Take care folks!

Good morning 6.6

I’m meeting some friends for breakfast today
most likely this will be a carb laden mountain he will have delivered, rather than my usual breakfast, which would’ve been berries, and greek yoghurt (or a protein shake) there’s several of us invited so I might just pick on a few items & drink coffee coffee.

have a Superb Saturday everyone 😎
