Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all - another grey one, with a light breeze today.

5.9 this morning. Had my 'flu and covid vaccinations yesterday. BG shot up to over 16 and it wouldn't come down below 14 . During the night (about 2am) the PDM was alarming because BG was high and it had delivered maximum insulin. I did a manual correction and that seemed to sort it. Covid arm is a bit sore this morning, but nothing I can't live with, though BG has gone back up to 10.4. Have just corrected again.

Not got much on today. I need to finish off the photobook of our Brittany holiday and I shall cook a chicken/spinach and mushroom pasta dish for dinner.

Beautiful photos @eggyg. Lovely scenery. We used to hike the coastal paths, but frankly not up to it these days.

Good morning. 6.9.

Could be worse after my stupid carb decsions yesterday. I got a bit glum after wading hrough rightmove yet again and then went to the village shop to deal with a loo roll emergency (i.e. last sheet and none in pantry - oops). Walked past cakes and a battenburg leapt into my basket quite unprovoked so I ate it to teach it a lesson...

Off to see another place tomorrow - agent had suggested today but owners wanted Wednesday. Photos show the place about 4 feet deep in piles of clothes and other detritus. If they plan to clear that before the viewing I wonder how they will get the JCB through the doors. Building looks structurally OK, bungalow with good layout, decent views, driveway off B road, 3.5 acres which needs clearing and fencing. Says they are open to offers - you may hear screams when/if I make an offer🙂 At least the agent doesn't use that awful phrase "well presented" which, on inspection, generally demonstrates that a) the owner had an emulsion brush and b) the agent had no taste.

Call from GP practice this morning, anytime from 8:00! I missed the last one a week ago and they never called back. I really dislike it that they cannot even give you a one-hour window.

Have just replied to myself as an update, having a cuppa and need to get back to work in a minute, just been to see Diabetic Consultant (at the Hospital) today for an actual face-to-face appointment.

He was suprised when I told him, yes his records are probably correct I couldn't remember ever seeing them in person before,
anyway with my latest Hba1c being what it is, obviously he was happy with the progress I've made, since we last spoke in May (in June was 76)
moving forward will see him / his colleague, every 6 months also he agrees with me about still taking Insulin twice daily
but reduce it as ive previously spoken with GP (if the night-time hypos happen again especially whilst im still losing weight)

They wernt aware I've got the Libra, obviously they are now and have set up to track me on the data, so I will for the forceable future still get the sensors on prescription (which is a relief)

Regarding previous damage I was doing to my organs, he reassured me as he was pretty sure (certainly from all the blood tests I've had recently) im going to be OK


but as I've a family history of heart disease he said really I should go back on Empagiflozine
which I told him I wasn't entirelly happy to do, but will speak to GP about that.

Very chilly morning, barely above freezing. Forecast is fantastic, sunny and cold, perfect for the walking day we’ve got planned. We’re going to finish off walking The Ullswater Way. We did the east side pre lockdown, Pooley Bridge to Glenridding, that almost ended with us missing the last steamer back, I injured my knee tripping over a tree root and it slowed us right down. But we made it by the skin of our teeth. Today, we have a cunning plan. Park at Pooley Bridge, bus to Glendinning and walk back. That way we can do it at our own pace. Should be a good day, I absolutely love Ullswater, the views will be spectacular. Supposed to be 11.5 miles, we always go wrong so might be more! I’ll report back tomorrow if I’ve survived! 😉

I love the Lake District, it was the go to holiday place when I was a kid living in Lancashire as it wasn't too far, we stayed at the Ullswater Hotel right on the lakeside and at the Rampsbeck Hotel, further down the lake but up on the hillside. Also at the Old England in Bowness. Plus youth hostelling trips as a teenager and camping when the kids were small. Most recently well at least 8 years ado, stayed in Cartmel on a Groupon deal

I'm not taking it at the moment. I've been told that its good for bones and muscles, especially during/after the menopause. My knees and hips are painful and i wondered if it would help. I

Not that I'm trying to advertise - but if you wanted to come again I have a lovely little School House here that sleeps two and only 20 minutes off the M6 at Shap. And if you climb Loadpot Hill from here you look down on Ullswater (or drive to Pooley Bridge in 15 minutes) 🙂

We’re very lucky to have it on our doorstep. Ullswater is just 20 minutes drive away. The last few years we’ve actually holidayed in The Lake District, first week in December, we go a bit further south. Hawkshead, Ambleside, Coniston, and this year we’re staying in Rydal betwixt Ambleside and Grasmere. We never use the car, we just walk from our holiday cottage. Because we’ve been to all the honeypots dozens of times we seek out quieter places to walk that we’ve never got round to on day trips. We still get excited even though we’re barely an hour from home. We never tire of it.

In my humble opinion everyone should visit Ullswater at least once in their life. We met two couples yesterday, One who’d been to Keswick and Windermere but never Ullswater and they were totally in awe of it. The other was a young couple who had never been to the Lake District they just couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. I was actually jealous, because I can’t remember the first time I saw it as I’ve been visiting it all my life. I still get awestruck now after 60 odd years. I think you’d agree Jo we’re very lucky living where we do.

It's certainly good for bones and muscles. Make sure you get the D3 capsules though. I have had good priced supplies from eBay.
 
late again 4.7 this morning went to JYSK to buy a sheep skin rug for our bedroom and ended up buying a new oak tv stand and matching side table, love it when we get an impulse buy, were off to Norfolk on Friday for the weekend looking forward to our short break no matter what the weather is like.
 
Good evening folks! 9ish when I checked this morning but it was after going to the loo.

I had a lovely time in my weekly writing club, which we have decided to rename as "creative time coffee chat" because no one is writing much and we admitted we go mostly for the social part! So people can still do the creative activity of their choice (drawing, writing, crochet...) and socialise. I think is a good idea as I find it hard to concentrate in writing when people talks, but the chat is the best part of the group so wouldn't want to miss that. I'm getting into drawing lately and I think I'd enjoy that more in the club, while writing is better to do on my own.

We also played a new board game called "Coup" and I won most of the rounds. Looks like I have a talent for plotting and assassinating (only in game, I swear) 😎:rofl:
 
Oh, I also had the same club sandwich of last week but asked them to do just 2 slices of bread instead of 3 and leave out the side of crisps. Plus I bolused for it. Whether I got it right, I'll see later in my graphs.
 
Twas a 6.1 for me morning.On blood tester as phone battery died again in middle of night .Was on 80 % at midnight when I went to bed .It will get a break after tomorrow when I put a new sensor in and go to the new libre two scanner machine.Any ways from 3 pm till 9 pm been getting terrible readings 15 to 17 .Took correction doses and just got in with dog now dropping down in the 5 s . Congratulations to @Gwynn on your Hs .See if I wake up tomorrow with this flu that's going about .Good night folks
