Due a HBa1c test this month, went to GP and usually I'd have to wait a couple of weeks to have the blood taken at the practice. Called my local Polyclinic, my preferred option and getting it done on Friday. Hoping there will be an improvement on my previous figure, as I recall, 50...4.6 today, and now for breakfast...
I wonder what it wants, it’s now 100% in range and both finger and libre exactly matched at 6.6 pre lunchIf your BG was your teenage child I'd bet they are going to ask you for money 😉
I can’t stop thinking about how great it was!4.9 for me this morning and apart from a 1unit correction for an 8.8 with an upward sloping arrow as I climbed into bed last night, I didn't need any interventions during the night. I did 3 trips up the hill with haylage on my back and feed buckets in my hands late last night so quite disappointed I needed that correction, but at least I got undisturbed sleep even if it wasn't the most restful kind.
Wow! @eggyg Another unicorn all trotting along one after the other like that! You should be a circus performer! Very impressive indeed! Concerned that your digestive system is giving you grief though and restricting your food intake and enjoyment so much. Hope it is just a passing phase/flare up and it settles soon and retinal scanning gets the all clear.
@goodybags. Really sorry to hear about your new house situation. So frustrating when it was preventable. I hope the seller isn't going to expect you to split the bill. Bit of an odd situation when you have bought it at auction.
@Gwynn Congrats on yet another optimum waking reading. Personally, if I was dietary controlled Type 2 I would be happier with a reading in the 4s every morning as you often do of course.
@ColinUK So pleased you enjoyed the ballet last night and lovely to read about it in Colin's Cultural Corner.
@Elenka_HM Sounds like you need to push for some support with using bolus insulin and carb counting but well done guessing your way through it last night and definitely better to underestimate than jab too much. The diabetes specialist dietician is the person you need an appointment with for carb counting. Generally they start you off on a 1:10 ratio, so I unit for every 10g carbs but that can be a bit too much for some people, so do be careful and always underestimate the dose to be safe. Have you done the online BERTIE course as that should give you a good background understanding of how it works and you can do it a bit at a time when you can fit it in.
If you get chance to go to the cinema both Till and Empire of Light are very good filmsAnd this evening I’m off to see Tàr at the posh local independent cinema. So I’ll reflect on that for tomorrow
That is interesting. Ian wanted to take me to see Empire of Light and I wasn't overly keen after watching the trailer. It just looked a bit depressing but might change my mind now thanks. If you get chance to go to the cinema both Till and Empire of Light are very good films
I quite fancy Till but think I need to be in the mood for it. Empire of Light I’m not sold on. Would it lose much by waiting for it to be on Netflix or whatever? If you get chance to go to the cinema both Till and Empire of Light are very good films
It is a very slow film but i enjoyed it. Its quite sad in places. Olivia Coleman was very good though. That is interesting. Ian wanted to take me to see Empire of Light and I wasn't overly keen after watching the trailer. It just looked a bit depressing but might change my mind now thanks.
Till was excellent but very emotional. I must admit i cried so definitely be in a good frame of mind before watching. Empire of Light is quite a slow story , it wouldn't lose anything by not seeing it on the big screen.I quite fancy Till but think I need to be in the mood for it. Empire of Light I’m not sold on. I really want to see it but can’t find it on anywhere locallyTár is fantastic. I’m reeling from it and I’m not quite sure how to put it into words.
Cate Blanchett is maestro playing a maestro who tries to conduct her private life as effectively as she conducts the Berlin Philharmonic.
Tár (Cate B) is a brilliant and loathsome character and her torment is on display from the opening scene. We know it’s all going to unravel but we don’t know when or how utterly and completely.
This needs to be seen in a cinema. The sound recording, which includes an awful lot of silence, is remarkable truly.
I’d say it’s a film unlike any other I’ve ever seen but it’s up there with the true greats. I’m trying to persuade a friend to see it with me again this weekend it’s that good.
Move!!I really want to see it but can’t find it on anywhere locally
