Group 7-day waking average?

Good morning 5.1 (on waking) then as I looked skipped straight to 5.3

November ended up being quite a good month for me at work
however a new month has begun, it all starts again so fingers crossed December goes OK

I spoke to a roofing company yesterday who are now coming (everything crossed) today to replace the cheeks of our dormer window upstairs, previously we had several repairs done (by a different contractor) around that window it will be a relief if that finally makes that area of the roof watertight :thankyou: saving Mrs @goodybags managing the water ingress as she has been for the last few months

Have a Terrific Tuesday everyone 😎

6.0 for me.

Day2 of my training. It's good and I'm enjoying it but I do wish the NHS could rationalise resources sometimes. I did all my mandatory yearly training in my old Trust in July, then moved to this Trust in October. There are one or two things which have crossed over without me needing to repeat but a lot are my 2nd lot of training in 6 months - and this is 2 days where I could be helping my short staffed colleagues! Hey ho! I have zero interest in ever becoming a manager so I'm never going to be in a position to change this. I'll just settle for whinging instead
Happy Tuesday to everyone who celebrates.

Morning all from a frosty Lake District. 7.2, I’m on my hols! 😛

Still in bed trying to get warm, the accommodation bunf said heating was programmed to go on at 6am. It didn’t, I manually put it on a 7.45. It’ll be fine soon, brrr! We’re in a one bed ground floor apartment in a country house once belonging to the Wordsworth family. It’s very nice, overlooking the River Rathay and the fells. Loughrigg is behind us, we’ll be climbing it sometime this week. Not a large fell but still a Wainwright, it’ll put our total up to 12/214! We’re fairly racking them up! 😉

Have a great day all.
@Grannylorraine you’re a very talented lady, your wrath of granny is absolutely beautiful. <3

Morning all. 5.5. Been away for a few days to Chester for my birthday tomorrow. Had a lovely time.

Now i'm back and today going over to the hospital with my brother to get answers about mum. We're not happy!

Congrats to anyone who has had a HS while i've been away. @Grannylorraine, lovely wreath (wrath?). @eggyg have a good holiday. What is a Wainwright?

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all! Got back last night and haven’t unpacked yet so there’s that to do today. Plus laundry.

Had a great time and it was just what the doctor ordered.

5.9

A 6.1 for me today. 🙂
That's one brilliant wreath @Grannylorraine :star::star::star::star::star:

Dez

5.7 for me!

A little on the high side (8.5) for me on waking from a pleasant night of uninterrupted sleep and pretty flat blood sugar. Back down to a much more acceptable 6.7 now, after a leisurely breakfast of a sausage omelette, granola with yoghurt and coffee. Plus I managed to finish the Guardian Cryptic crossword and my usual trio of word puzzles (Wordle, Quordle, Octordle), so bonus 🙂

And it’s a happy 5.1 for me today and we still have grey skies. Have a good day everyone.
.

What is a Wainwright
It’s one of 214 fells designated by reknowned fell walker Alfred Wainwright way back in the day. They have to be a certain height, I can’t recall what that is, and it’s a challenge to walk/climb them all in your lifetime, if you’re that way inclined! It’s called bagging a Wainwright. Just a bit of fun. He wrote beautifully illustrated books, which of course I’ve got, and they still sell today. I think he died in the 70s and allegedly he was a miserable old so and so! It’s just a bit of fun for us, but there’s challenges where some mad folks do them all in 7 days or so, we’re never going to do them all, we should have started when we were younger!
PS you can do up to about 7 at a time because they’re nearly all joined up, the most we’ve done is three. We once did two without realising!

5.8 this morning for me.

New sensor is a little skittish, as they tend to be for me on the first day before they settle down. Had an alarm at 3am, which may have been genuine but I admit I didn’t fingerprick, just treated it and fell back to sleep. Hoping it will settle down today and be normal. Abbott are sending a replacement for the failed one even though it failed with just one day to go. I reported it more to get it registered as a fault than anything else.

Wondering whether I need to change things with my insulin a bit. These last few weeks it’s almost like my ratio should be more 1:10 instead of 1:8. Also considering splitting my basal as in the evenings BG rises gradually as though the Levemir is running out. Trouble is this means doing some basal tests which I struggle with

Love your wreaths @Grannylorraine - wish you were closer to us, we’d love one of those! The one we got from our local lady in the village is a bit smaller than we normally have.

Hope the heating kicks in soon for you @eggyg - enjoy your holiday in the Lakes!

Take care everyone!

Morning all and 6.6 for me.

Looks like another evening basal reduction required due to two glucose top ups during the night.

Putting repeat prescription in today let's see what the Creon situation is.

Have a good day everyone.

5.9 for me on another bright and sunny Berkshire morning. It's a little on the chilly side, though. Grocery shopping already done and dusted and my usual Tuesday swim later. Hope they've turned up the temperature a notch for the pool and the showers from where it was last week.

Got our first Xmas card yesterday, from one of my wife's old schoolfriends, so I guess we ought to be thinking about getting round to doing ours this week. I think my wife bought a load back in September when they were on offer with Whistlefish (she's a big Whistlefish fan).

@Gwynn - pleased to hear you're hip's continuing to improve. Mine's not troubling me at all now and I'm back to going up our stairs two at a time. At its worst I found it was least painful going up on all fours.

@MeeTooTeeTo - I think the first Star Trek movie was good SciFi but not traditional Star Trek, but they got things spot on with The Wrath of Khan and the rest of the sequels.

Time for a coffee and the newspaper. Whatever your plans, have a good day.

Good Mornink everyone, even though it's late now.

9.2 then dropping to 8.9 twenty minutes later. TIR at 89%. Not to bad considering the meal last night at the Carvery - Full roasted turkey dinner - luverly! There were only six of us in the end, saying that, we all had a good laugh and it was all quite reasonable (We got 20% off our total bill!).

Good morning 6.5 after a poor night.

Got the dreaded "Mum, can you come" phone call last night. "Well, of course I can - no problem." Amazing the lies we parents tell our kids... The medics are now "scheduling" daughters operation - basically sometime in late January or in February depending on blood results. Thank goodness I found some storage. Apparently she has to do as little as possible post-op for 6 weeks..so it is Oxfordshire and Grandsons for me. With the ruddy solicitor wasting time it is inevitable completion will fall in that time. So I shall be starting packing and sorting now and Christmas decorating etc can go on hold for 2024. Hopefully we can make a right bonanza in 2025.

Don't understand all this decorating early in December - our family tradition is Christmas Eve and down again on January 6th - gives a living tree a chance of survival and minimises drifts of pine needles appearing for months afterwards, but each to their own. The pictures are lovely tho', particularly @Grannylorraine 's splendid wreath/wrath.

Woke to a clear sky, water running down yard and 2 inches in the dog bowl. It is now, inevitably, clouded over. Off to ring around dog groomers - don't think Mr Wolf's winter filthy state will cut it in civilised parts - if I am away for 6 weeks he will have to come with me.

Did you know that architects cannot do structural calculations? Wasted 2 hours yesterday with chap who can draw plans but needs to sub-contract calcs. Ah well, back to old friend and expert witness for a "mates rates" job.

Have a good day all.
