Good morning 6.5 after a poor night.
Got the dreaded "Mum, can you come" phone call last night. "Well, of course I can - no problem." Amazing the lies we parents tell our kids... The medics are now "scheduling" daughters operation - basically sometime in late January or in February depending on blood results. Thank goodness I found some storage. Apparently she has to do as little as possible post-op for 6 weeks..so it is Oxfordshire and Grandsons for me. With the ruddy solicitor wasting time it is inevitable completion will fall in that time. So I shall be starting packing and sorting now and Christmas decorating etc can go on hold for 2024. Hopefully we can make a right bonanza in 2025.
Don't understand all this decorating early in December - our family tradition is Christmas Eve and down again on January 6th - gives a living tree a chance of survival and minimises drifts of pine needles appearing for months afterwards, but each to their own. The pictures are lovely tho', particularly
@Grannylorraine 's splendid wreath/wrath.
Woke to a clear sky, water running down yard and 2 inches in the dog bowl. It is now, inevitably, clouded over. Off to ring around dog groomers - don't think Mr Wolf's winter filthy state will cut it in civilised parts - if I am away for 6 weeks he will have to come with me.
Did you know that architects cannot do structural calculations? Wasted 2 hours yesterday with chap who can draw plans but needs to sub-contract calcs. Ah well, back to old friend and expert witness for a "mates rates" job.
Have a good day all.
