Group 7-day waking average?

Good morning all! 4.5 for me today after a night of alarms but decided to wait and see rather than treat and this proved to be the correct action as I stayed around mid 5s, the occasional dip below 3.9 may just have been compression lows or the DF having a play!

Congratulations to our trio of HSers today : @harbottle , @Barrowman and @eggyg!

Not much planned for today other than bits of housework.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning folks, forgot to take this morning before food as I was out to post parcels early. However I managed to get my HbA1C down from 106mmol to 54 mmol in 3 months with the help of empagliflozin and increased dose of metformin. yay. :D I give myself a :star:

Blood results showed for 1st time my kidney function is not so happy. I am going to see if I can get away with reducing metformin to twice daily, next bloods for kidneys in 2 weeks.

Have a fab weekend everyone.

Great result @Jodee in halving your HbA1c! Hopefully your kidney results will improve on your next test.

Morning all - grey it is, what's new?

6.5 this morning after a rotten night. Went to bed at 11pm absolutely tired out after a couple of poor night's sleep. Was woken at 12:12 with low alarm. It was a stubborn one and it took until 1:12 to sort with umpteen Dextro tabs, biscuits and eventually a cup of sugary tea. Settled down to sleep and then had to shoot out of bed to the en-suite with the runs. That happened several times until gone 2 am. Settled down again and got another alarm, this time the sensor wasn't talking to the pod. Managed to get that going eventually, it's the placing of the pod to blame. Am about to change it this morning even tho' it was only changed yesterday. Sigh... so much for a good night's sleep.

I eventually realised the runs were my own fault. In an attempt to ameliorate the stubborn post-prandial spikes I had decided to go back onto Metformin. So I took 4 Glucophage SR with lunch. How unbelievably stupid! I do actually know better and I know I should have worked up from 1 or two tablets. Obviously senility has set in.

Going into town this afternoon to see the Christmas lights switched on. One of our friends is singing in the accompanying choir and we're meeting up with our usual group to watch. Should be fun as it usually involves craft stalls and the main street cordoned off from traffic with various buskers and performers. Hope it stays dry.

Congratulations to @harbottle , @Barrowman and @eggyg on your HS

Have a good day all!

Update:

For some unknown reason I decided to clear out and clean the outside drain. Oh, yes, I remember, person with rolling pin 'suggested' that I do it, er, no, she was kind and it turns out she was going to do it but I beat her to it.

However, this comes to mind... (please don't take offence. It is an attempt at humour)

My goodness what a horrible mess/smell (the drains, that is). Even wearing surgical gloves and scrubbing my hands 5 times afterwards I can still smell it. Ugh!!!

Just been tentatively out to get some stuff and, although my hip was better, it still ached a lot. So... back to resting again.

Good morning! 7'5 for me.

Yesterday my Libre saw the first 4s and 5s in a while, and while that's a good sign, I felt a bit wobbly. Probably overdid NR with breakfast, I thought it would be fine because I was just doing stuff in the computer. I emailed the diabetes team about Metformin and I will try it next week, their advice is to stop NR during the test but keep taking the Levemir.

Last night I was sent to work in the bar instead of restaurant. I liked it for a change, tho it was busy and the noise got a bit overwhelming at times. I got a good amount of practice on pouring pints, the last ones were much better than the first! The bartender I was helping was very grateful and paid me a drink to have at a time I want (was too tired to stay and drink it after my shift). I normally go for spirits and diet coke but didn't want to ask for something that expensive so went for a Guinness. Ahhh, better not think about the carbs in that...

Good morning everyone

BG 5.3

Went to the church yesterday evening to set up their sound system, right hip was dreadfully painful by the time I got home. Thankfully, after a nights rsst it is a lot better. No walking anywhere today!! Mind you it's tipping it down out there so I wouldn't go walking anyway.

Have a great day today whatever you are doing

Good morning all. Would you believe another 5.2! I was convinced my Libre was playing up so I thought I’d check when I got up. By the time I’d gone on the loo, washed my hands and walked downstairs, got a new cassette for my Accu Chec and fitted it, the Libre said 6.1, meter 5.8. I would say that’s a result.

It’s currently a very mild 13 degrees and absolutely pouring down. Good job I wasn’t planning on leaving the house.

Have a great day.
