Group 7-day waking average?

GoodMorning 6.6

Congrats on another HS @eggyg
think I need to get up and start the day with a tidy up in the lounge, as Mrs @goodybags wants to put the Christmas tree up now it’s December my tasks for today will include that
plus seeing if I can what’s happened to the washing machine (it was playing up yesterday evening) if not order a new one  clean inside and out of my car, as it’s it’s minging, ironing shirts for next week and a trip to Aldi

Have a superb Sunday 😎

Well done @eggyg on that HS. My reading was 5.8 this morning. 🙂

Dez

Starting December with a 5.5 on another damp and overcast Berkshire morning. Mild, though - double figures already - which means, of course, that we're in for a wet one.

Managed to get our outdoor Xmas lights up yesterday as planned, though I have to say that at my age I'm less comfortable up a ladder than I used to be. At least I could still feel my fingers afterwards. Plugged them into a timer switch so I don't have to remember to turn them on and off, especially as they're plugged into a socket in the garage. No doubt my wife will want the Xmas tree etc down from the loft when she gets back later.

Logged on to online banking this morning and I see that although they've taken away my Winter Fuel Allowance they're paying my Xmas bonus tomorrow, all £10 of it. I must drop a note to Rachel from Accounts to thank her.

Congrats @eggyg on your brace of HSs. Hat-trick on the cards?

Time to open Day 1 of my advent calendar, a dark chocolate one from Hotel Chocolat. My wife has a Lindt one, our boys always ask for a common-or-garden Cadbury's.

It's just started raining here.

Enjoy your Sunday.

You’re ruined Martin, not like us old folks back in the day! 😛

I love the poetry of Brian Bilston so much, I have some of his books and we’ve just got tickets to see him next May in The Dukes Theatre in Lancaster.

Morning everyone, I’m joining @eggyg with my second 5.2 on the trot.

Another grey day and it’s just starting to rain, so pleased I managed to get my garage roof repaired yesterday I can finally get rid of the buckets now.

Have a good day everyone and stay well.
.

A round 4.0 for me on this first day of December. Night spent in the red sand though:(

Let’s see what today brings for my BG. Christmas decorations this morning and then a visit to my parents in the afternoon where we’re going to bring up the subject of extra care for them at home.

Congratulations @eggyg and @Barrowman on your second HS each today!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning. 7.4 - shouldn't have had sweet corn and poached eggs for supper but felt childish (for that read stupid).

Nasty grey, damp morning. SAD light running to replace the absent sun. @ColinUK is looking good - obviously in the right place.

Storage now sorted - an enterprising old neighbour's son, normally my scrap dealer, has started up a unit 4 miles away. My ignorance shows I have been unplugged from the grapevine for a month or two. Mind on other matters I suppose. Meanwhile have had to ginger up solicitor, no surprise there. I don't mind spending a few weeks with family/friends etc but do think condemning buyers to spend January on a narrow boat is cruelty...

Have a peaceful day everyone.

Forgot to mention that today's the day for the annual Reading Toy Run where 100s of motorcyclists dress up as Santa and decorate their bikes and travel in convoy from Thames Valley Park to Barnardo's in Wokingham, loaded with toys for children's charities. Rolling road closures from 1pm until 2:30, so if I'm planning on going anywhere I'll need to take that into account. Or I might walk down the road and watch them go past the bottom of our estate.

Congrats on your double HS @Barrowman and on yours @a live

My wife and I buy each other's advent calendars but she's never been able to find a dark chocolate one, except at Hotel Chocolat. Nice chocolate, though. It was a gnome today.

Us old folks? Have you not noticed my age?

My partner and I buy two (different) 'old style' Advent calendars each year, with pictures (but no chocolate) inside, so that, each day, we can each guess the picture, just like we did as kids 🙂. We're not Christians, so we tend to buy ones with 'winter woodland' type scenes on the front, rather than Christian imagery.

Morning all - yes it is still morning! Uniform grey today.... sigh.....

5.7 that jumped to 6.3 within 5 minutes. Much much better night's sleep last night, despite some very weird dreams!

Enjoyed yesterday afternoon in town with the choir singing in front of the huge Christmas tree. I see they had put a Santa hat on the Humphry Davy statue - this is official as impossible to reach without a cherry picker.... and contrary to everyone's fears the tree had plenty of lights on it!

Today we decorate the tree and our tradition is to get the lights on, do anything that needs a stepladder and then break out the Manzanilla sherry whilst decorating the rest of the tree with the ornaments we have bought over 42 years of holidaying together and go down memory lane. I shall make sure I've prepared all the elements of the roast chicken dinner before the sherry!

Congratulations to @eggyg , @Barrowman and @a live on your HSs.

@eggyg enough with the "us old folks", you are a mere babe who was starting school as I left!

Happy Sunday everyone!
