Group 7-day waking average?

Morning a 6.2 for me and getting a lower average BG again though somehow have managed to wipe out my history on the reader by somehow a series of bleeps and I must have changed all my dates whilst it was in my pocket.
No matter will go into settings later and try and get it back but happy to start building data up again.
Yesterday was as good as it gets work wise.A nice drive a catch up with my lovely colleague and shared a brunch and natter and we agreed to meet up once a month as we both enjoyed it.
Being in Sales is not force everybody but I love it and one of really nice bits was as a Sales Manager and I covered half the country was meeting with my team of nine on field visits and seeing them develop.
The highlight was a big awards event in London where two of my team won National recognition so 1st and 3rd in the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management annual awards and I felt so proud.
Anyway our dog has his operation today and we will be pleased when it is all over but will be a slow recovery but at the moment of course ignorance is bliss.
Lots of other stuff happening so will leave you for now and have a great day

Went to bed on 6.5 last hight this morning 7.5 never get the diabetic fairys ways
Small hint if someone is having psychosis symptoms ie seeing hearing things dont say its all in your mind this does not help at all.Listen to them please, you dont have to feed into it just listen. Not sleeping well because of this. Im ok folks
It's a nice but chilly day here. I'm going to watch Adolescence on Netflix today; I've heard it's very good.
You all have a good safe happy day.
Love to all especially if you are finding things hard

PS have found that i can say a word into my phone and it tells me how to spell it and its meaning, very handy for a dyslexic person. Guess whos a happy bunny. The small things in life make me happy.

Morning all. 🙂 6.3 here.

5 students made it to class last night. This time of year, numbers drop off a bit - light evenings and nice weather are to blame. The four who’ve chosen to do the exam in June turned up - they’ll be fine, their Welsh is excellent, but some of them need convincing that this is true!

That’s a relief @eggyg !

I hope you’re back to normal asap @PattiEvans - poor you.

Good morning. 6.4, reduced my basal by half a unit @PattiEvans, I’ve coasted along quite happily for years and this last few months I feel like things are changing in my diabetic life and it’s now a daily battle. It’s my annual review next month I’m sure my HbA1c will be up, my TIR is in the 80s which I know lots of folks would love, but I’ve always been in the mid to high 90s. Old age? Other medical issues, ie my gastric system? I’ve lost my lucky socks? Who knows? It’s no good worrying about it though, just keep taking the tablets, and the insulin!

Anyhoo, been up for a while but we had an “emergency”, had a jackdaw down the chimney, this is the third this week. The difference is this time it was down the living room chimney, in our 39 years here the jackdaws only ever came down the dining room chimney, the two on Monday came down together and poor Mr Eggy copped it as I was out. They made a right mess, we do have screens up as obviously we’re not lighting the fires this time of the year, but they’d knocked it out. The living room chimney is a H pot so quite difficult to fall down I would think, but this morning as I went into the room to open the curtains I heard a noise behind the fire screen. I must admit I didn’t think for one minute it would be a bird, thought it was a soot fall or a brick falling down. Went to lift the screen out and saw the poor jackdaw! Quickly put it back in and called the cavalry ie Mr Eggy who was slumbering in his pit! To cut a long story short an old sheet was employed to hold over the fire entrance whilst the screen was slipped out, jackdaw gently caught and set free. It looks like he was attempting to make a nest, it came down with him! See photo. Mr Eggy has emptied it all out and is now enjoying his breakfast, all done whilst in our PJs! I’ll be getting mine soon.

Well after that excitement I don’t know what today holds, probably go for a decent walk after lunch, and I may stick a wash on.

Have a great day.

Morning all 7.7. The graph showed massive gaps overnight where the sensor had lost connection though on scanning, it had stayed in range. I always wonder why it loses connection when the phone is next to me or in a pocket but when i go upstairs or the kitchen without it the high/low alarm goes off. Its a good job i turned off the connection alarm, that would be going constantly.

Today is forecast to be sunny and 18° and i've nothing planned apart from hanging out my washing. I might get some more ivy up from the garden but the green bin is getting very full so we'll see.

Has anyone heard from @ColinUK re his holiday?

@eggyg pleased your daughter's house is going through now.

@PattiEvans hope you feel better soon and you enjoy Exeter.

@gail2 take care.

Morning, another highish reading of 7.9 today. I ate crisps last night after vowing not to eat anything before bed going forward!

My little girl is devastated. She took her frisbee on our walk to the park and beach last night. Threw it across the beach and it rolled into the sea. The waves kept almost bringing it back so husband ran into the sea to try to grab it (in his shoes and clothes!!) but the frisbee bobbed away from us and went out with the tide. Poor 7yo!
Maybe it will wash up again and we might come across it on another walk, who knows!

We are going to go on an Easter egg hunt at a national trust place later which should be fun. I am decluttering wardrobes this morning.

Have a great day everyone.

A nice round five for me today. 🙂

Back in the 4s with a 4.2 this morning for me. Phew! A bit of normality for me.

It’s been a packed few days, end result is that we are moving my parents into a care home near us. It’s a lovely home (we visited on Tuesday) and may be better for them with respect to giving them access to the gardens (they can’t get into their own garden at home) and maybe even some company from other residents. It will be a massive change for them both and Dad, although he admits they must have more care now, is upset at having to move. The cost is shocking - around £13k per month, but we really feel the time has come to have more care and support. I really feel as a society we don’t care for our elders.

I was so grateful to volunteer at Hatton Locks yesterday to help clear my head from all of this!

We have friends coming around this afternoon for a bbq to take advantage of this warm sunny weather.

Take care everyone!

Morning all. 6.8. Hangover gone! Didn’t stop me doing two hours worth of ironing, I even pulled stuff off the line and got that done! I’ll have to get drunk more often! NOT! It’s not big and it’s not clever folks.😉

Sub zero today, brrr! But more sunshine expected, I think they’re saving up all the rain for the Easter/ my birthday weekend. Not sure what our plans are today, we’re flexible, a walk down to Aldi for some veg and potatoes is the only thing at the moment. I lead such an exciting life at times. 😛

@ColinUK are they real! And were they in the wild or did you go to the zoo? We loved the zoo when we went to Gran Canaria. Please tell me you went to the zoo! 😳
@Robin safe journey home, I’m glad you got a bit of calm in the end. I’m now dreaming of agapanthus growing wild, one of my favourite plants. Sounds amazing.

Have a Happy Monday all.
They were very real. And not in the zoo.

Anyone heard from @ColinUK? He hasn't been on here since Sunday. I know he was having some difficulty getting logged in. Let's hope that's all it is and he is Ok.

Was just on holiday and combined with patchy WiFi thought I’d give you all a break!

Got home at 3am this morning. So of course I was wide awake at 5am

Flight home was great. Had a whole row to myself

Holiday itself was good. Even though I managed to get sunburn on the tops of my feet. I was wearing sandals and went for a stroll along the beach that turned into a 12km hike but forgot to SPF my feet.

Back to a huge pile of laundry but I’m going to take the opportunity to clear out my wardrobe and build a capsule wardrobe from what I’ve got that fits!

Oh and a whole 1kg weight gain which is great considering I ate pizza, pasta, rice, cake, ice cream and drank beers.

5.9 this morning as well.

Welcome home @ColinUK

Glad you had a good holiday. Hope the scorched feet weren’t too itchy. I love those holiday strolls that turn into an unintended trek for miles and miles. Such a great way to see a place.

Morning

4.8 this morning must of been all that window cleaning yesterday, although still not done the patio and back door yet, I’ll try and get those done on Friday. Then I must start my own doors and windows but thankfully a lot less windows in our house.

I have my latest blood test results my HbA1c is now 37, cholesterol is fine although at the top end of in range so no wriggle room for letting my eating slack. All other results were within normal ran*e, going g for my DN appointment and foot tickle on Tuesday.

@PattiEvans - sorry to hear you are poorly, get well soon.

@eggyg - pleased to hear the move is still going ahead on planned date.

@Eternal422 - difficult decision to make, but it will be for the best, just take some time for them to adjust.

@ColinUK - hope you enjoyed your holiday.

@gail2 - thinking about you, and other phrase I have heard is “just snap out of it”,

Take care everyone.

I'm so glad your parents have agreed. It must be a big weight off your mind. Knowing that they will be safe and cared for will be better for you and them, you may find as they settle they will enjoy the garden and seeing other people. I agree though, the cost is beyond shocking!

@ColinUK glad you had a lovely holiday.

@Grannylorraine great result with the HbA1C. Well done.

Not very good today at 7.00 - but I was naughty yesterday had a roast dinner in a large yorkshire pud - twas delicious 😛 also hot cross buns oh noooooooo (I bought a packet), have to mo the grass to work it out.

I am noticing the SIS hydro electrolyte tablets seem to help keep my fingers a little more prickable :D

Have a great day everyone.

5.6 for me on a rather dull, grey and overcast Berkshire morning with our temperature still in single figures. Heidi, our garden thermometer, still has her big coat on. Sunshine promised for later. Hope so, I have bedding to peg out and a summer house to paint. Managed to paint one side of it yesterday and plan to press on today. I picked the side that was in the sun but there was still a chill wind. We also have raspberries growing that side and I needed to get the painting done before it becomes impossible to get to.

Switched energy providers last month and we've received a refund from our old supplier as we finished up in credit. I saw it when I logged in to internet banking this morning, all 1p of it. Can you buy anything with a penny these days?

Congrats @Grannylorraine on that HbA1c result. Oh to be joining you on that step when I have my annual review next month.

Whatever your plans, have a good day.

5.4 on waking this morning. 34 degrees in the shade……. I’d say obs not in the UK but no idea how weather is there.
Diabetes and no work really does seem to work !
