Group 7-day waking average?

Morning All - 7.1 this morning. Not sure why I went AWOL again and I missed all my lovely Happy Birthday messages so that will teach me! Had a busy week and enjoying the lovely weather we've been having up north. My son's village in Oxfordshire is an island today with no roads clear and a house just round the corner has a foot of water inside and had a fire engine there in the night - Living up on our hill certainly has some benefits! Walking Netball today (me coaching) and then I might stay for Pickleball. Tomorrow I'm taking my Mum to a tennis club in Carlisle. She didn't say goodbye to tennis when she moved up here and I figure it's worth me driving her up there every couple of weeks so that she can have a good game (she's 85!) and then when the time comes that she decides she wants to stop she can, on her terms. At the moment though, judging by how she plays pickle ball, she's not about to hang up her tennis racket any time soon! I've got a call with the GP this Thursday and hopefully by then they'll have received the letter from the consultant to sort out my extra insulin and get me on board with getting the Libre free - I've got two left that I've self funded (replacing tomorrow) so hopefully that will see me through. @eggyg I really am keeping everything crossed for your grandson. Driving tests are horrible, and arbitrary but hopefully the northern examiners are nicer than the ones down south! Have a good day everyone and I promise to engage more xxx

The rain started earlier than promised yesterday. Nipped out to the shop and the nearly dry washing was sodden, hanging limply on the line.

Rehearsal this evening. Hopefully should be a good one.

Well if yesterday started wet and miserable here it's got nothing on this morning. Got woken by a thunderstorm just after midnight, then again just after 3 by torrential rain. It was raining when I got up at 7 and it still is, and just to complete the miserable start I got a 6.1 when I tested. The DF clearly decided she'd (they'd?) been over-generous with the HSs by dealing me two in 3 days.

Only thing on the calendar today is a trip to the recycling centre just before lunch to dump an old IKEA desk and an old wooden filing cabinet (both broken up yesterday), plus a box full of unwanted cutlery that our eldest brought back from Uni after he graduated - all the result of my wife having a loft sort-out yesterday.

Have a good start to the week, and hope all this rain hasn't ruined anyone's day.

Thanks Jo. Not sure they were nicer in 1992/3 when it took me four attempts before I passed. TBF that was probably just me! 😛
Hope your mum enjoys her tennis, which club is she going to? Strand Road? I can’t think of any others, but why would I? The nearest I get to a bat is on a Greek beach! 😉
 
6.3 this morning, if indeed it was morning as still dark and raining! Just had a flood warning about the River Avon, all reaches are now in the red which means no boat movement, moor up on flood safe moorings. Luckily we are high enough and far enough away not to be affected if it does break its banks.

@eggyg - fingers crossed for your grandson, it sounds like being able to drive himself would be so useful, especially with 7am starts!

We’re off to Ireland on Wednesday for my wife’s uncle’s 80th birthday and reunion. We are going to be staying 10 days to be able to visit others as well as a bit of sightseeing- Giants Causeway, Carrick a Rede rope bridge, etc., so not doing much today and tomorrow.

A sensor upgrade for me today and then a please change sensor so ended up taking blood and a nice up hill 8.3 i gues sensor didn't work for the night and the pomp didn't calibrate that's the q for the mystery
so todays mission done😉

Morning everyone, after a day out at Silverstone yesterday and an half decent nights sleep I woke to a 5.3 today which was a surprise with all the junk food I had eaten yesterday.

Have a good folks and stay dry which is pretty difficult at the moment as it’s STILL raining.

Gosh you lot do make me feel old! I passed my test 3rd time, to be fair I'd not had much practice before the first two, just driving lessons. I inherited my Dad's car and drove it down from Birmingham to Colnbrook (near Heathrow) the day before the 3rd when I passed in the driving school car. Then had to stand at the bus stop in the teeming rain to get home. That was in 1971!!!!!

Fingers and toes crossed for your Grandson's test today!
 
Morning all - very dark grey, but so far no rain, though it obviously has done during the night.

6.6 first thing, but it's now 8.3 despite me lobbing in umpteen corrections - I thought the HCL was supposed to deal with that!

Dental hygienist this afternoon, this was the appointment they gave me when I had to cancel 10 July one because it clashed with my retinopathy appointment. That's private practice, so we're lucky to get any appointments at all unlike those on NHS dentists in Cornwall.

Sausage and mash for dinner. Made a huge lasagne yesterday, but am portioning it up and freezing it for days when I don't have time to cook.

@TinaD good luck choosing the right property. Personally I'm not keen on isolation as I get older.... but each to their own.

Eden Lawn Tennis Club, Brampton Road - I won't be playing as it's really her thing and I'd probably only embarrass her!

No number for me today. In the course of climbing 4 flights of stairs about 6x yesterday to move daughter into her student flat, I dislodged the Libre sensor and it came right out! Annoyed as it still had over a week of the free trial left. I'm waiting for a Dexcom and I suppose if I let Libre know maybe they'll send me another... although it was my fault and it a free one so I don't know if they will. Ah well.

I could have done a finger prick but I'm sulking about the monitor so didn't!!

I'm spending the rest of the day adapting to being down to one child at home permanently instead of 3 (he's loving his new only child status) and trying to finish my training for my new job.

I hope everyone has a peaceful/not peaceful (delete according to preference) Sunday.

you should report the sensor they will replace it even if its a free trial.
 
It was a 5.7 for me this morning.Didnt post yesterday as phone battery acting up again .Goes from 70 % to switch off .Gonna have to get a fibre 2 reader and a half unit pen when I have a Face to face assessment at the hospital next month. The first one in nearly five years .keeping your phone on 24 /7 for your cgm doesn't do battery much good Last phone died two months before contract was up Still got till next may with this one .We have rain up here now , nothing yesterday.Good luck with your foot tickler @ Colin UK. Mine didn't turn up last Thursday and no replacement sent .Have a good day folks

Thank you. I have sent an email so will see. Meanwhile I shall await my Dexcom trial too! I feel like this is extreme couponing for diabetics!

Oooh first up. 5.4 for me today.

Thanks for all your good wishes yesterday re grandson, unfortunately he didn’t pass! :( No majors but too many minors. Next one booked, January 21st 2025, unless he gets a cancellation. He was ok with it, eventually, Mr Eggy picked him up and brought him to ours afterwards and we had a good craic. He’s determined to pass before the year is out. Him and his sisters are staying with us tonight as mum and dad’s work is clashing and they can’t get them all to work/school etc. on Wednesday. This is when I wish we had a bigger car! I’ll take grandson to work early doors, come back and Mr E will take 11 year old to school. At 8.15 youngest daughter will pick 6 year old up to take her to another school! All of these destinations are miles away! Never mind you do what you can to help, it’s just a one off. So five for tea tonight!

Will start to prep for our holiday to Welsh Wales, we’re going on Saturday. Waterproofs, warm clothing, hats, scarfs, gloves. Yes, the bad weather lots of you have been having ( not us it’s been great up here) is coming to North Wales with us. It’ll be reet!

BG 5.6 a bit higher for me
The rest all ok

A reasonable day yesterday. Wife seemed happy. I sorted some lyrics for a song. Got wet going out to get some food. Shopping delivery arrived in good time but the oeeegetables were poor quality and rejected.

Tired today, friend coming for tea, beef stew! If I can get to the church to do some rewiring I will. Oh, yes, gotta go to Lytham for a diabetic eye test (forget the church thing). I may walk (on my own!) if it is not raining (mind you, I need time to prepare the stew so maybe it's a bus for me today so I can get back quicker).

A pretty boring day ahead I think.

So sorry eggy to hear about your grandson ‘s driving test as know how important an occasion it can be in their young lives. As we know it can be a very hit and miss affair but the long waiting lists can put an extra pressure on.
Quiet day yesterday and trip to opticians for annual eye check ( not diabetic) and declared absolutely fine and no issues whatsoever.
Having one of my long days today with a trip tonNorth Wales including a Cardiology CPD evening in view of Bodelwyddan Castle so a nice backdrop.
Anyway whatever your view or what you are up to have a great day.
