Group 7-day waking average?

Afternoon folks. Twas 6.4 this morning.

I'm trying not to think about the lesson planning I need to do on Sunday - it's still half term, after all. Had a lovely long walk this morning along the beach in the sunshine. Shiglen the puppy has decided she loves the sea, woohoo! So lots of splashing around. Then we spent the afternoon in the garden - I'm loving this sunshine. Long may it last!

Yep Roland I think they also mentioned that there is one main wholesaler and that they were having specific issues about obtaining supply.I too thought Wes Streeting was being evasive and good to see the publicity around Creon shortages.
I thought I heard Pancreatic Cancer UK say they had asked the Government to take action; to convene a task force to take over the supplies of PERT; to have a National co-ordinated supply of PERT. Pancreatic Cancer UK have a 5 point plan which is well explained on their website. Somewhere in this mornings interviews I thought I heard them say that distribution would (or perhaps it was should) be managed by a sole wholesaler; that last point was, in my opinion, not necessarily ideal - throttling all supplies through one source could be a contrary solution, the commercial market can be at its very best when a free market exists.

The Department of Health say shortages of raw materials across Europe are causing this problem. The Pancreatic Cancer UK Nurse said she thought that about 61k people in UK were affected by PERT shortages, ie a big enough problem to need resolution and she wanted Gov't to tap into other regulated supply sources, outside Europe eg US and Australia.

She (and I think DoH agree or were the original source of thus snippet) believed this problem is going to go on into 2026. If that is the case, it is almost unhelpful - in that for another Nation in a different Continent cranking up their production for only a few months, even 12 months, is prohibitive. Most manufacturing industries carry relatively small quantities of reserve stocks and gear their production throughput to regular repeat orders, year on year. Particularly with a product like PERT that has a clear shelf life. Australia may be a large continent but has a relatively small population; so their reserves are likely to be comparatively small. Whether the USA is better placed to increase production for a limited period then scale down again, buffering this from bigger reserves, might be more feasible.

It seems to all be traceable back to Swine fever in Europe (but from Asia?) affecting the availability of natural porcine ingredients.

It's been previously said in other PERT/Creon threads that Pancreatic Cancer UK's website is a good place to get up to date information. Link below:

After that I'm going for lunch with my friend and a common mate, that means I will start unpacking later but I didn't want to make him come all the way just to have him as a driver. Plus I could do with a bit of relaxing.
Another good reason to go out for lunch is I won't have to run to the supermarket the moment I finish moving bags. My fridge currently contains a single yogurt (for breakfast), a chunk of cheese and my insulin

(I realise I will still have to go to the supermarket at some point of the day)

Morning and a 6.9 for me and typical I reached 99% TIR and was having a really good day BG wise and then decided to have extra toast in afternoon when got home. Then distracted with admin and it took me a couple of hours to get it back under control.
Managed the Friday Pizza fine and back to normal overnight so have a trip planned for brunch at a nice garden centre and another lunch out together on Sunday.
White rabbits and wife won pinch and punch for the 111th month running or perhaps even longer but she always utters the one word that Instills instant fear in me if I ever have the advantage and that is “ consequences”.
HAGW all

Morning all. 7.2 here before breakfast. Looks like a wet day here, so a little more software development on the agenda for me, at least until it brightens up.

4.9 for me .

No doubt I will be spending today listening to the fallout from yesterday's White House press conference. Jane Eyre will have to wait.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and calm day/weekend

And a 4.9 for me too. 🙂

Morning lovelies!

5.3 for me just now.
Today is looking like a food prep/bopping around the kitchen with Mr Quill kind of day.

Happy birthday @Silent Sands

Hope you all have an excellent weekend xo

First day of Spring, meteorologically speaking, and I opened the curtains to freezing fog. Our garden thermometer says it's minus 2.1 out there at the moment. It's beginning to brighten up so I expect the sun will make short work of clearing it and the forecast is for a dry day with wall-to-wall sunshine.

We pick up our new car today, though not until 4 o'clock, so looking forward to that. It's an Audi A1, same as we have now except it's an automatic. Coincidentally Honda, who our eldest works for, are swapping his current car for a new one on Monday.

It's a St David's Day 6.0 for me. Whatever your plans, enjoy your Saturday.

Good morning 6.6
What a beautiful sunny morning here in Hampshire, frosty though.
Have a great day everyone!

Long day yesterday. Met up with friends for coffee etc and a long stroll. Then two of us did the two hour walk from central London to the Q E Olympic Park where we had coffee, around the park before heading in to Sadler’s Wells East.

Saw She’s Auspicious. It’s a new work of Indian dance and although I have no cultural knowledge of the dance language from the sub continent or anything more than utterly superficial knowledge of Indian music or odd religious mythology I thought it was really rather extraordinary.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. As did my Gujarati friend who accompanied me.

Got home late thanks to signal failures in the tube and I needed to eat even though it was so late.

So how the heck did I score a 5.2 this morning??

Morning all. 7.3 which quickly dropped to 6.5 as i got out of bed. A very frosty but very sunny day here atm so i'll get the washing out later. Its so nice to hang it on the line again, and cheaper! Today i'll whizz round doing some dusting and cleaning. Younger daughter is coming up tomorrow sometime as it is BiL's funeral on Monday. It will be lovely to have my girls together with us again but it will be for a very sad occasion.

Congrats on the HS @ColinUK.

Happy Birthday @Silent Sands.

Good morning 6.6 for me today

Happy St David’s Day

Just having some breakfast fruit, nuts seeds & berries
then off to my football program this morning, a very different Saturday morning routine to a few years ago, when I used to meet a few guys for a full English breakfast on a sat morning.

Football on the TV / Radio this afternoon & expenses to do for last month at work sometime this weekend

Congrats on the HS @ColinUK :star:your just reward for a long walk yesterday
Happy Birthday to @Silent Sands

Have a Super Saturday Everyone 😎

4.9 for me today.

As predicted it was bright sunshine yesterday afternoon at my eye screening:rofl:. The lady doing the screening was really good and helped reassure me about the floaters I have, more noticeable in bright lights and looking at a blue sky or white wall. Nothing to worry about, not diabetes related and happens to lots of people. Even so it’s hard to prevent myself from worrying about health things, that’s just my general health anxieties. But, I’m not going to dwell on things and will keep my mind active on other things, enjoying the present, ignoring the past which has gone and the future whatever it may bring.

Got my DSN phone appointment on Monday where I’ll ask whether it is worth keeping my consultant appointment in April, given I am stable on insulin and the consultant has decided I’m not T1. Although T2 is such a melting pot of variations as to be too broad a category. I would consider myself a sub type of T2 with insulin deficiency and from the DSN’s point of view they are treating me as T1.

Sorry for all the above, just needed to dump my thoughts out!

Congratulations @ColinUK on your HS. I bet the Indian dance was really good. Whilst away there was an Indian wedding at our hotel and we saw the groom’s baraat, a dance celebration of the groom, his family and friends, at the start of the wedding. Very colourful and energetic.

Happy birthday @Silent Sands !

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning and Happy St David's Day.
Bore da to those of you who speak Welsh (hope the spelling is correct)
9.7 this morning, probably because I had a terrible night's sleep. According to my smart watch I only slept 2hrs 42 mins! Mostly due to restless and fidgety hubby (indigestion) and cat (wanting fussing and cuddles....not happy about a visiting cat in the garden yesterday).
Bright and sunny but very frosty at 7.30 when I let the chickens out. A good day's gardening planned.
Congrats on HS @ColinUK
Happy Birthday @Silent Sands
HAGW folks

Afternoon all. A Len this morning. SEVEN!
I can explain. I’ve got the stomach bug off the kids! Felt a bit nauseous and very bloated after breakfast yesterday but that’s not unusual. But it just got worse and worse, I felt so ill and just needed to lie down. Managed a slice of toast for lunch and half a cup of tea. I’d been on the loo a few times, but again that’s not unusual for me. At 4pm I took my self to bed as I felt so bad. Wandered down at 6pm for the news, I wish I hadn’t, I felt even sicker. Total ambush in my opinion and how arrogant was Vance? I’m still boiling with anger. Anyhoo, went back to bed. At 8pm the vomiting started. I’ve had a rough night, got up just after 9. Had a slice of toast, feel very weak and I’ve had a terrible headache the whole time which painkillers aren’t touching. Hope the S&D is finished with at least, I’ve nowt left in me! Another day of resting, I think. Which is a shame as it’s a beautiful day, as was yesterday.

Congrats to @ColinUK on your HS and @Silent Sands on your 60th birthday. And of course Happy St David’s Day to our Welsh contingent.

Have a good ‘un.

13.5 for me the first time I woke up but no point getting up and making it worse with FOTF so I jabbed 10 units Fiasp and my Levemir and went back to sleep. All I had for tea was a fun size apple and some cheese which I bolused for at 7.30pm and I did a very fast power walk yesterday so thought I wouldn't need any evening Levemir. Went to bed on 6.6 but levels just went up and up and up after I went to sleep. No idea why. Since I have had 2 overnight highs I will have some Levemir tonight and knowing my luck, I will probably be back to nocturnal hypos again. 🙄

Happy Birthday to @Silent Sands
