Group 7-day waking average?

7.3 on this our final day in Florida, our flight is 9pm tonight back to Gatwick. And it’s raining here :(. We’ve got the hotel until 1pm, so we’ll hang around here before setting off to Orlando airport which is about 2 hours away.

Great HbA1c result @ColinUK ! We had a holiday some years back in South Beach, went to Key West and around Hemingway’s house which was interesting. Also went to Gloria Estefan’s restaurant, Larios on the Beach, in South Beach - worth a visit for a meal.

Sending some last minute sunshine from the beach yesterday to you guys :

Take care everyone!

Bloden I think I've found the reason that correction doses don't always work with the Omnipod 5. See https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/is-this-a-glitch-in-the-omnipod-5-software.116675/
This was mentioned in the Juicebox podcasts. The pump nurse on the podcasts said it was important to check (especially for breakfast dosing) for red lines on the sensor graph which mean that insulin has been suspended. If you see it's been suspended just before the mealtime bolus, you might want to add a correction yourself.

Tbh, I'm pretty happy with the O5. My TIR is much much better. My main problem atm is Activity mode in the afternoon. It works fine in the morning, but it's not great in the afternoon. I've been told to lower my lunch bolus by 20%. We'll see...

Lentils, and the fabada I make are quite easy. I use tinned lentils and butter beans, panceta, as it is the closest thing to tocino I can find in here, and chorizos. All goes in the pot, with cummin and nutmeg, and simmer until the pulses reach the level of disintegration you prefer. Lovely jobely.
Thanks! It sounds simple enough, I will try.

@PattiEvans @rebrascora I have found the notebook where I wrote down some recipes from my mum and grandma (luckily it was on the top of its box!). Fabada is not that typical in my area but lentils with chorizo are a classic. Of course different families have different recipes, in ours we put onion and tomato but no garlic or paprika.

@Carlos is right: contrary to popular belief, not everyone in Spain likes onion and garlic, although is hard to think of a traditional recipe that doesn't contain one or both! Also, putting paprika or chorizo in any meal doesn't automatically makes it Spanish as some businesses here seem to think 😉

Good evening everyone! My waking BG was 4'7, back at 7 am. Where has the day gone!?

Been actually busy, with work in the morning and clearing some of the mess my room has become. I did laundry, took some glass and clothes to a recycling point, and dusted a bit. Had to go out to buy dish soap to tackle the pile I had built in the past few days. A bad habit I had controlled pretty well since the start of this year but I had a slip. It shouldn't happen in the new place as I won't be eating in the room.

Talking about the new place, I mentioned yesterday I was due to have my first attempt at building Ikea furniture. A bed frame. Here is how it's looking:

"But Elena, that looks like a mattress on the floor..." I hear you saying. Well yes, you are correct! One of the boxes didn't arrive, the one with the long pieces for the sides. I have the headboard, the other piece for the end, the metal midbeam, the slatted base, and all the little screws and pieces that the instructions say I should have. But two massive pieces of the frame went missing. So I couldn't assemble anything 🙄

It was frustrating as I had planned my next steps assuming the bed would be ready. Now I'll likely have to wait until Friday, and I am moving on Saturday. I've decided I'll try to move some of my stuff in during the week anyway, I can always put the boxes and bags in the living room when I need space to build the frame. I managed to get the full Saturday off work, so I can do it all in that day if need be, but I'd prefer to save myself some stress.

At least the mattress did arrive and feels comfy!

Take care everyone!
Larios is no more it seems.

Good evening just scanned through some of todays posts

WoW well done @ColinUK on both getting both your Hba1c & your weight down
don’t put all the credit on the Mounjaro Colin
ok it can help, but it’s also down to your hard work and being physicals active

@Pam123 congratulations on todays HS

Another early morning 5.1. That’s better.

Managed the walk up to Latrigg, just. It might be one of the smaller Wainwrights but boy, it was a tough start. Straight into the ascent, which was muddy and wet, as well as the usual rocky bits and eroded bits. Although it was quite a bright day it wasn’t warm, still a cold breeze and at the top, very open and flat, it was blowing a hoolie! We could barely stand up! Fantastic views though over Keswick and Derwent Water, just phone photos today, I left my camera in the car, I was raging! Walked back down another way to make it a circular, water running down along the paths making it quite treacherous in parts, my legs were like jelly at times. Not sure I like this Wainwright game, I bet there isn’t even a prize for finishing them all! 😉 TBF that ain’t ever gonna happen! Still got 196, I think, to do. It’s taken us nearly 65 years to do 18 out of the 214 and we aren’t getting any younger, or any fitter! On the way back down I said to Mr Eggy “ should we stop doing this and stick to the low lying walks?” ( I say this every time by the way). His answer; no chance! Ah well, watch this space for the next Wainwright instalment!

Childcare today, just Eden on her own. That’s like climbing a mountain with flip flops on, hard work!

Have a fab day.

1. At the summit, should have worn my hat!
2. Derwent Water in all its glory.
3. The descent.
4. Latrigg from the road. It looks kind of high from this angle.

Good morning 5.5
Looks like upping the abasaglar has helped 😉
Still nothing from my former boss about redundancy etc so we have sent off a collective application for employment tribunal.

Have a good one everyone!

Morning all. 7.9 for me before breakfast. A little higher than I would have liked, but such is life. Still a little wet and blustery here, so I am planning to do some software development today. My latest idea is to use a food-nutrition API I found to add an ability to my diabetes software to understand natural language meal descriptions and calculate carbs automatically. Just something to do on a wet and blustery day that will be useful if I can get it to work.

Morning a 5.4 for me and a lie in.Mouth recovering well after trip to dentist so many Dos and Don’ts afterwards so no hot drinks only warm soup and soft stuff.Bit boring but great for keeping the BG steady even if I had to have a slice of bread as low going to bed but no alarms during night.
Trip to hospital for annual Upper GI check but no issues so should be straightforward.
Look forward to first crispy meal as will miss my granola this morning and stick to fruit only for another few hours as the small bits mean I need a really good tooth cleaning regime afterwards and want to leave that for a bit longer.
Coffee at Garden centre today but probably this afternoon.

A 5.3 for me this morning. 🙂
