Group 7-day waking average?

5.9 on a frosty Berkshire morning, though it's back above freezing now. Our youngest hadn't factored in that he might have to de-ice his car before setting off for his 8-5 shift at Tesco today so I had to give him a nudge.

My wife and I are off to the designer outlet place in Swindon today to do some shopping for her birthday on Thursday. Takes about an hour from here, straight down the M4. Some of her favourite brands have stores there, so it's ideal and with the added advantage of all being indoors.

Got an appointment letter yesterday for my next eye screening, one year on from the last one, so clearly we're still doing annual checks here. I'm not sure that's the case everywhere.

On the subject of appointments did anyone get an invite for the RSV jab? I got an email from the NHS back in September saying that I qualified and that I didn't have to do anything as I would be contacted by my surgery. I wasn't - I chased it up twice before I finally got an appointment, which they subsequently cancelled and re-booked for the end of January. According to the NHS the RSV 'season' starts in October and lasts around 5 months with a peak in December, so getting the jab at the end of January seemed a bit pointless, a bit like having my flu jab that late.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday. I gather some of us will be getting some snow today.

Morning

5.5 with a banging headache after a very fitful sleep. DiL had to be at the hospital for 5pm yesterday and I induced early evening, but no news yet, and as you know I am a worrier. Going to keep myself busy as I have some tidying to do of the spare room and an Apricot Couronne to bake for Bakeclub tomorrow.

Very grey and wet here today.

A 5.6 today. Off to keep the old grey matter working with the Sunday cryptic crossword. 🙂

Dez

Morning all. 6.1

Off to the Opera House this afternoon. Seeing Phaedra + Minotaur which is a two act thing where Phaedra is ballet and Minotaur is opera. Should be interesting.

Good morning was 5.6 today

Yesterday Mrs @goodybags and me spent the day shopping down the road (in MK) far better for our MH than doing what I planned - the household & garden chores
Some of the in-home sorting will need doing today, the outside in the garden work can wait until anther day.

TC everybody 😎

Morning all. 5.4. I seemed to manage the chinese food i had last night well. I split the dose then had a correction about an hour before bed. Bedtime was 10.5 but i held my nerve and woke to this. Its a win against D for once.

@eggyg enjoy your break.

@Grannylorraine i hope all goes well with your DiL. Let us know.

Morning everyone. At last a happy 5.4 for me today, that’s where I like it to be.

Have a great day everyone and stay warm.

@khskel your sig Gaudeamos igitur wot does it mean please

Lovely blue sky! Yesterday was a heck of a lot warmer than the day before due to the fact that there was no bitter wind. Not been out yet today...

Curiously 8.3, 9.6 and 7.2. I watched this change on the Libre 2+ before my eyes within seconds this morning! So take your pick... I'll have the 7.2. I did have a low alarm at 4:45 this morning. 2 dextrose and half a ginger cookie sent it soaring! Curiously TIR doesn't show the 3.8.

Today not doing much except we have invited our neighbour round for dinner as we think she needs a bit of company. A dear friend of hers of many years has only short time left (after his 2nd leg has been amputated) and has been sent to a hospice near his original home town and half-way across the country from where we live, even though he has lived in this area for many many years. She will be lost as she'd been visiting him every day.

Have a lovely break @eggyg. Hope you enjoy your dance/opera @ColinUK .

Good luck for your new grandchild @Grannylorraine

Have a nice day all...

4.1 at 0237, a JB and a Ginger biscuit put pay to that... the resulting wake-up was after 10 and a BG of 8.2, so we missed church too.

Intermittent sunshine today and the high cloud's are scudding alone in a NE breeze, but a chilly 8°.

5.1 this morning not much to do today chicken dinner later Just going to watch TV, we bought a new TV a couple of weeks ago, and its out of this world, its 77 inch LG OLED, its made such a difference for me with my dodgy eyes not just diabetic related but I have had blurred vision caused by corneal dystrophy for around 10 years mainly in one eye.

I have been using the Noctura sleep Mask now for 6 nights and my overall vision has improved already it also works with OLED light.

5.0 on waking today - really pleased I managed my BG on the flight and across time zones!

I split my basal having half at my usual UK time then the other half at bedtime on local time here. Seems to work well for me, but only had to manage flying west with this technique.

Day of rest by the hotel pool today before off to the port tomorrow to go on the cruise.

No pictures yet other than the obligatory view from hotel room. Blue skies and sunshine here today with a high of 28. Sending some of it over to you guys!

Take care everyone!

For anyone wondering how @Gwynn is getting on, we’ve been in touch to check he is OK.

He is still having a very difficult time with the stress of his wife’s illness, and is also having a flare-up of hip pain for which he has an appointment next week.

He is needing to have a break from the forum for a while, but hopes to be back soon.

We wish you all the best @Gwynn :care:<3:care:

6.1 for me when I first woke up with a headache after a nasty hypo overnight where I woke up with heart pounding in the middle of another vivid, stressful dream. It took me a few minutes to realise that my heart was pounding because I was hypo and not the dream. 2 JBs sorted it.
Anyway, I jabbed my Levemir and 6.5 units of Fiasp for breakfast and got out of bed and had a couple of Paracetamol for the headache and got a coffee and put breakfast together and then the nausea and upset tum kicked in and I realised that it was a migraine. Had one spoon of my yoghurt and knew I couldn't keep it down and needed to be horizontal in the dark pronto but the Fiasp was taking me down fast. I lay there with 2 JBs in my mouth trying to meditate to reduce the panic and prevent vomiting. The first 2 leveled me out at 3.2 mostly just chewing them and letting them dissolve in my mouth, but I needed another 6 to cope with the rest of the Fiasp. Thankfully the paracetamol eventually worked it's magic but it was touch and go for about an hour as to whether I could manage it myself or would need medical help. Lost most of the day sleeping through the recovery and now battling FOTF to actually have my breakfast (mid afternoon), but feeling loads better now. So relieved my hypo heroes (JBs) got me out of another fine mess I got myself into! My second waking reading (this afternoon) was 6.5, so they did an excellent job. So relieved I applied my new Libre yesterday as I would have really struggled to finger prick when I was feeling so ill.

@PattiEvans So sorry to read that you had another episode with your BP the last couple of days. It must be really scary when it happens so out of the blue and when Julian wasn't with you. Hope an increase in meds keeps it settled for now.
No fun having to spend time in A&E. My brother had a cycling accident yesterday and he was in there all last night.... well actually in the back of an ambulance for a lot of the time. Thankfully no fractures to his head this time just a bit concussed but he has fractured his pelvis, so it has all been a bit traumatic here and stress most likely triggered my migraine. 🙄
