Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all - what a beautiful sunny day it is with wall to wall blue sky. The downside is that that outside thermometer is reading 0º. We're not used to it down 'ere.

7.3 this morning. As @Bloden says, the Omnipod 5 wants you there.... I'd really like to go back to the Dash where I had more control myself. I will be asking the DSN.

Had a nice lunch out yesterday with my friend. Several places in St Ives are currently doing lunch for £8 which is good value. We had steak, mushroom and guinness pie with mash - the pie was delicious, the mash reminiscent of the powdered potato MIL used to serve! Today we are meeting friends later this afternoon after running one or two errands in town.

Gosh, some interesting stuff posted this morning! Long lost half siblings, digital bank stuff, thought transference via morse code... not to mention Mr eggy's no 2s and finally a bucket of blue sparks!

Have a good day all!

Disappointing 9.9 for me this morning once I warmed my meter up enough to agree to work. I thought I had done enough exercise yesterday to skip evening Levemir but clearly not! Jabbed a load of insulin and went back to sleep and then when I woke up it was rather later than intended and I had to get breakfast down me pronto.

Also loving the various topics people are sharing. It is fascinating!

4.6 for me today, pleased things are nice and settled.

Just done my revision quiz for my course and got 23/24 which breaks my 100% record :(. Silly mistake on the one question I got wrong, but at least I’ve learned from it now!

Final bits to pack before we close the cases ready for the off tomorrow morning! Will fit in a flying visit to my parents later on and drop into the radio club as I won’t be seeing any of the guys for another couple of weeks.

Have a great Friday everyone!

And in case anyone wonders if stress causes a rise in BG, you can see when I did my test/quiz here

Morning all. 7.2 here - the Omnipod 5’s standard a.m. reading!

Plumber coming to look at the bathroom, measure, give quote, etc this morning. Then lesson planning and admin - not all day tho. I need to have some fun! Diabetes is a pain, whatever treatment regime I’m on. I need to phone the surgery too - they’ve taken my BG and ketone strips off my prescription, sigh.
there always messing something up at my surgery, last time they missed of my needles

4.6 this morning stressful day yesterday, I purchased a new monitor in January from Amazon, delivery was expected to be delivered on the 20th Feb, it was £599 instead of £1.066 so I didn't mind waiting, the money was pending in my bank but was taken on the 31st Jan so I assumed they were about to dispatch it but nothing changed, so I spoke to customer service 2 days ago, I was assured the item would be delivered by the 20th and told the only reason the funds had been taken was to stop it dropping off the system, then out of the blue yesterday they cancelled the order. I spent a good hour arguing with Amazon who just fed me with a load of bull, what has pi...... me off is they are still available but at the full price,I emailed the CEO last night and they have given me a £50 gift card, saying they were unable to get hold of one.

Inspired to make my first post on this thread primarily to say something about paying checks into banks - but as it seems to be convention, I’ll first declare a 5.2 at 7am - fish for dinner last night was nicely low carb

So… In case people don’t realise - it is possible to pay cheques in to most bank accounts at a Post Office. They have special envelopes for them - unique for each bank - and ideally you include a paying in slip but if not then I believe that writing your bank sort code and number on the back of the cheque works (and personally I always add my name & address too as ‘belt and braces’ is always good! Unfortunately, I bank with Nationwide who don’t partake - but most other big name banks do - and you can also pay in cash via your debit card

Will now duck back into lurker mode

@Ph1l Welcome and have a gold star for what we refer to as a House Special.... the nominated optimum waking reading of 5.2..... that alone is a good reason to delurk.
I am with the Cooperative Bank so I have been doing my banking through the post office for some time although like most I don't have many cheques to bank these days. Good to remind people of this option though as Post Offices need support too as they provide a valuable service and we have already lost too many.

Morning all - what a beautiful sunny day it is with wall to wall blue sky.
It's a filthy day here, though. I hate windy days, cold days and wet days and it's cold, wet & windy here at the moment. Talk about a triple-whammy. Whilst driving back from Sainsbury's there were hailstones mixed in with the rain.

That is if you have a local Post Office.
The city center one here is a few doors down from my bank.

Thank you Barbara - for the welcome as well as explaining what HS stands for as I really couldn’t work it out
Totally agree re ‘use it or lose it’ for the Post Offices - I’m in a rural area and all the local bricks & mortar PO have shut over the 30 years we’ve lived here - thankfully there is a Mobile Post Office (a big red van!) that calls in on different nearby villages so most days it’s within a sensible distance even if I only have a half hour window to use it! I know it’s a life-line for the elderly in some of the villages as the bus service is non existent and otherwise they’d need to get a taxi to get cash!

Welcome Phil and well done on the 5.2.
Thanks for advice re Post Office but my cheque is banked now so won’t need to do it again for another 12 months or so.Always good to have new posters on here but whether you are in full throttle or lurker mode all contributions are welcome.

Are you seriously saying that you are spending five hundred and ninety nine pounds on a blood glucose monitor? There is something very wrong there! They shouldn't be more than £20 tops... in fact you can get a reputable one here https://shop.spirit-health.co.uk/collections/tee2 for £14.99 and it has very reasonable cost strips @ £10.66 for 50.

I live in City but our local Post Office closed years ago , then moved I to a newsagent on the same parade, which has been closed number of years. I wonder whether the city centre one will survive it is housed in WH Smiths which is run down and in disrepair.

I was shocked for a moment too but for this price I am assuming it would be a computer monitor instead
