Good morning. 6.4 on the meter as sensor fell off last night, it was due this morning so I’m not too bothered. Decided not to apply a new one as I like to have a shower before. So, quite happy with 6.4 because I went on the loo, put on my dressing gown and slippers, walked down the stairs, watered my poinsettia, faffed about a bit in the kitchen then I remembered to finger prick, I bet today would have been a 5.2 on the Libre. Damn! 😉
Yesterday was an exhausting day, as I predicted, MIL had hoarded lots of “rubbish”, a box full of sympathy cards from when FIL died, ironically enough, it’s exactly 18 years today. Lots of old coins, unfortunately not guineas or half crowns even, but big old pennies, halfpennies, a few florins, couple of threepenny bits, sixpences and a very old silver threepence. I’ll keep the sixpences and threepenny bits and maybe a couple of pennies and halfpennies. Photos for evermore, we’ve brought them home with us to sort out, had a quick look and quite a lot of them have the dreaded quality control sticker on them from Boots/Truprint etc. that’s a job for a very rainy day. But what we did find just randomly on its own is a Polaroid picture of me and Mr Eggy on our wedding evening “do”. Back in the day, 1980, wedding photographers took a few stiff photos at the church/ register office etc, they didn’t follow you all day like they do now, from the minute you wake until the last straggler leaves at 1am. We haven’t any photos of the night do, so this was a lovely surprise, we think it must be from the first dance. Three Times a Lady, The Commodores if you’re wondering! We look so young! I didn’t wear á traditional wedding dress as we got married at Gretna Green registry office and you just didn’t then. Anyhoo, we were exhausted after five solid hours of cleaning and clearing and we haven’t scratched the surface! Skip hired for next week!
And here it is, we still look at each other like that now, especially if we haven’t got our specs on!
Edited to add. And two pound notes!
