Group 7-day waking average?

Happy Birthday! @ColinUK. Hope you have a fab day and the sun is shining on you as it is here.

Pleased it isn't my birthday today because I woke to a 9.7 and the straightest, most horizontal, overnight line you could imagine....8 hours of it! Makes no sense at all as I yomped up the hill 3 times late last night (and I mean 11pm late) with feed for GGs, which should have put me in the red most of the night but levels started rising just after I got back in the house and I ended up jabbing a 2 unit correction before bed and still stayed right at the top of range all night. Still battling this cold so maybe it has suddenly decided to impact my levels at long last.

Evening all - it started as a beautiful day - temp 17º, but then turned grey and cold again.

7.7 which then dropped to a nicer 6.4. Unfortunately I forgot to bolus before lunch which was fish and chips in the Turks Head in town with a friend. We were chatting and I just got distracted. Then we wandered round town and I didn't remember to do a correction until I got home and BG was 17.6! Naughty me!

Whilst in town I bumped into an ex-colleague who now runs a lot of services for the community in an area which is amongst the top 10% of the the indices of deprivation. She is starting a group giving advice to people with diabetes and asked me to give them a talk. I said no, I have no qualifications to do that, but I told her I would pass on a link to this forum for her to pass on to the people attending her group. I'm seriously not sure she's qualified or knows enough about diet to give advice either, which is rather worrying.

Happy Birthday and many more of them @ColinUK. A mere babe in arms at 58. I could easily be your mum!

Take care everyone and have a nice evening.

17 degrees! Wow! We’ve had a beautiful sunny day but it’s been barely above freezing all day. It amazes and fascinates me the difference of temperatures on our little island.

Looks like I didn’t post this morning was another high one today 9.4 but no FOFS, maybe because I was high most of the night ?

Had loads to say to loads of you, but this morning I think as was composing my post this morning when iPad crashed, then internet went off, then I was just a bit anxious about a few things and … bla bla etc … I got sidetracked, kind of as sometimes we (well I do) before I knew it emails were coming in and work had started before my start time, but sometimes in hybrid working / field sales that’s the life I lead … plus tomorrow last day of the month 😱:thankyou:

anyway hope everybody had a superb smashing day 😎
I’m thankful for this forum and everyone’s support

Good night everyone! My BG was 6'9 when I woke up at 5 am, ages ago!

Today was not my day, for a combination of things. Sometimes it feels good to rant but now I'm more relaxed and I feel like recalling all the things will just get me worked up again. So I'll let it go and focus on my plans for the weekend, and the meal we are organising with my book club for next week! 🙂

I nearly missed it because I didn't check the forum all day, but a very happy birthday to @ColinUK ! Wow, you are just 2 years younger than my parents...I mean, don't worry, you don't look a day over 55 😉

Good morning - 6.4

Have a great day everyone.

Morning a 5.6 for me after a 3u correction brought me down very nicely and then pretty flat. After letting myself go over Xmas and last week have made more effort which has brought my average BG down from 7.5 below 7 and TIR gone from 93-97% so good to see response.
Payday today and back to Southport and although a busy day is fairly routine so back in time to order Pizza.
Son coming today to help wife do a couple of jobs in the house and she and dogs will love that.Just booked a little break in Ludlow in March and no dogs so nice to get away.
Have a good day.

Good morning. 5.4. I was very naughty last night as I went to bed on 5.4 too, I really didn’t want to eat anything so didn’t have a snack. I’ve been rewarded with a flatfish and a BG I’m happy with.

Today is mostly a non “sadmin” day, except for the picking up of the death certificates. Everything is coming together now, vicar came yesterday for a chat, obituary in the local paper today ( for the old folks) and online for us young ‘uns! I’ve realised why some people are going down the direct funeral route these days, apart from the cost, it must be a heck of a lot easier to organise. I don’t think my wedding took this much organising!

A nice quiet couple of days ahead, bliss.

@freesia so sorry to hear about your BIL.

Have a fab Friday folks.

6.2

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

Big Ben tour was fascinating. It’s really well designed with stops every third up the tower. You pause in rooms where they tell you a bit about different aspects of the tower and of the bell and then you get to the clock room where the actual clock mechanism is. That’s fascinating in itself and the room smells of engineering, all metal with just a hint of grease. Next stop is the belfry. No bats just the four quarter bells plus Big Ben. You’re there for 10 minutes which includes an on the hour chime. Next stop is behind the clock faces themselves and then it’s a walk halfway down before the first pause and then the rest of the way down and exit through gift shop. I didn’t exit but went and sat in the public gallery for the Commons for a bit.

You can’t take photos in the clock tower and in fact you can’t even take your phones in there so no photos unfortunately. No phones allowed in the public gallery either. I did take this on the way in to the Palace of Westminster though.

Stopped off in St James’s Park for a bit of lunch and then trooped off to see the utter mess that is The Tempest.

Some of the cast are great, some are not. And then there’s Sigourney Weaver herself. She’s terrible apart from the “we are such as dreams are made on” monologue.

They’ve cut out characters and streamlined costume so there are no weapons or cloaks etc. Actors mime their use if required such as when various courtiers draw their swords.

Arial is fantastic. Mason Alexander Park is a huge talent and a joy to watch. Matthew Horne isn’t.

You’ll love the set too I’m sure

WHITE RABBITS & a 5.3 for me.

Good morning 6.6 today
Yesterday evening had a (Mounjaro sized portion) of pene pasta bake for dinner yesterday evening
So was pleasantly suprised to find a wake up in the sixes today

Sometimes I think maybe I post to much on here about how Diabetes effects me
but I find it such a great resource of support in helping managing things
was suprised yesterday to see (on another thread) that the insulin I take might be available in a cartridge type pen, rather than the disposable ones that I’ve been prescribed since way back, I shall need to speak to the pharmacy I use and if it is available in that option ask GP to request a changing, I’ve often thought what a waste

have a Fantastic Friday Forum Friends 😎

Morning all. 7.2 here.

Day 4 with my new bezzie, Omnipod 5 LOL. A sneaky hypo yesterday for no obvious reason, but it’s still early days. I’ll start Pod no. 2 this morning - it’s a WFH day, so I can let it do its thing with no major variables in activity, etc. My lovely DSN phoned on Wed (on her day off!) to see how things are going. Next time we speak, I’m hoping we can move on to tweaking ICRs...I’m sure I need less mealtime insulin...we’ll see!

Keep posting @goodybags - I really struggle with this diabetes malarkey sometimes but the forum is somewhere I feel listened to and supported. We all need a safety net. And you’ve turned things around lately, which is inspiring for others.

Morning all. I woke to a 11.7 and have been hovering around the 10/11 mark all night despite a 3u correction before bed. Yesterdays readings were higher from mid morning as well so its either the events of yesterday or i'm coming down with something.

I'm off to visit my SIL this morning to see if there is anything i can help with. Then home to strip the beds and do the washing.

@ColinUK i hope you had a nice birthday. Big Ben sounds interesting, though i'm not sure i could get up the tower.

Never think you're posting too much. We all know how it feels with good days, bad days, questions, the constant "doing the job of a body organ". We're all here to support each other.
