@ColinUK hope you are having a good Chanukah (shame about those vandals :( ) . My Jewish friend texted yesterday in our group chat saying she is so over the oily food, the praying and her grandma trying to marry her off to "good Jewish men". Oh, grandma's priorities are the same across cultures

Morning all, 6.7 here. About to do the weekly supermarket run, I bought so much last week I thought I might be able to walk down to top up locally, but with two extra adults in the house, we seem to have got through all the fruit and veg, cheese, milk etc and I need somewhere with a carpark!

Morning all. 6.3 on a very blustery day. It’s howled all night. Can’t see if it’s raining yet but the forecast for the next couple of days is heavy rain and gusty winds! Not going to be able to do our usual Twixmas hike. Normally we’d have done it before now but hospital visits etc have scuppered it, yesterday would have been ideal weather wise but it was Mr Eggys’s turn to visit but half an hour before he was to leave youngest daughter sent us a link to the hospital’s FB page. The ward ( and many others) his mother is on, weren’t accepting visitors because of Covid, flu, Noravirus and RSV! The only wards open were maternity and the children’s ward. It’s rife. Not good at all. Goodness knows when they’ll re open to visitors.

We might try and venture out and pop for a bit shopping to Aldi. We’ll have to do a post New Year hike this year, weather crisp, frosty and sunny from Thursday. Much more pleasant.

@goodybags good luck with your eye op today.
@ColinUK good luck with your application, you’d be amazing.
@Elenka_HM glad you’re back safely and have had a fab time with your family.

Have a Happy Monday. Are we back to normal yet?

That’s similar to what we need, milk, butter, mushrooms, fresh coriander, green chillis and wine! We’ll take a rucksack each and that way we aren’t tempted to go off piste. My freezers are packed, can’t fit anything else in.

Good morning everyone

BG 5.4 again!

My lancet device broke! I have a spare, a different make, but my pointy sharp thingies don't fit it properly. I thought they were all the same. Got it to work ok but I may try to get a new different one.

I too need to do some shopping but with my hip still giving me trouble ( but improving) I'm going nowhere.

I have a game that I wrote some time ago called Thought Guardian. Part of it (The Question App) I am upgrading. Part of that is me having to find pictures of dogs to put into the App. You wouldn't believe how many breeds of dogs there are, hundreds. I try to get at least a hundred images per breed, so that's a huge number of images. Keeps me busy!

Have a great day today whatever you are doing

A friend is in Spain to visit family for Christmas/New Year. They got an invite to a wealthy friend/neighbour for Christmas lunch/dinner. It was a seafood spread that included caviar, brown crab meat, lobster, etc. followed by sickly sounding desserts washed down with plenty of fine wine. Me jealous - No as I am allergic to seafood but some Bodegas Rioja I was treated to a few years ago, with my roast beef. For dessert I would go with vanilla ice cream with espresso and Frangelico poured over it - I used to use a family run Italian after work on Fridays when I commuted
I love seafood - but not sickly desserts.

Morning all. 12.0 here...it makes no sense whatsoever. Diabetes, eh?

Everyone keeps saying how well-behaved the puppy is, so I’m expecting a rebellion any day now. Our neighbours keep having to puppy-sit their son’s 5-month-old Visla - it’s bonkers! I want none of that from our little treasure. Fingers (legs, eyes, teeth, boobs) crossed...

Good luck @ColinUK - they’d be daft not to choose you. You are extremely cultured!

Hope it goes well @goodybags.

Today's reading was 5.8. 🙂

Morning

4.2 today, still have this lurgy, didn’t get out of bed yesterday, but have got up today and going to go to the cinema with my daughter and granddaughters, as I only have to sit and watch the film, can always sleep when I get home. All my plans on Sat and Sun got cancelled because of this lurgy, hoping to be well enough for yoga on Thursday and Friday.

@goodybags - hope everything goes well today
@ColinUK - good luck, I agree you would be good.

Good morning
I woke up today to the pump telling me that the sensor is calibrating and then after 20 min it told me change sensor so i needed to take my BS with a prik and i got to know the reason i slept so bad is because i was by 9.6 so i wanted to take insulin bot the pump told me resovir is empty so atlist i figured out the reason i was so up on the BS mountain
so i needed to change both and for now we are waiting to see how its going to settle down
Have a good day all

7.3 this morning. Got a horrid cold so feeling sorry for myself but have largely held it together BG wise over Christmas. A couple of spikes here and there where I've not guesstimated the carbs quite right but overall happy enough.

I'm trying to get back into flying RC planes so am building a little kit I've had for a couple of years. My wife got it me as a birthday present on 2022 but never got round to building it then quit flying for a bit. I miss it though so trying to get a free bits together that I can fly off some local fields...
I know nothing about aerodynamics but I think that needs a bit of work!

I’m like a good yogurt me!

5.6 for me today on one of these indistinguishable days between Christmas and New Year. TBH it’s more indistinguishable now we’re retired and not exactly sure what “normal” is

Third day on Abasaglar which so far is looking good for me and does seem to be making control, especially in the evenings, easier than when I was on Levemir. The NR bolus doses bring any spikes down and keep things steady for me, whereas before on the Levemir I was needing more and more NR in the evenings after food. As @PattiEvans suggests, I really need to do some basal testing to see how it works for me, but with still a few bits and pieces of Christmas around it’s not the right time:rofl:

Had a nice walk around the grounds of NT Baddesley Clinton yesterday. Off to visit my parents this afternoon, other than that nothing else planned.

@Grannylorraine - hope the lurgy goes away for you.

@goodybags - good luck for today!

@ColinUK - fingers crossed you get onto the judging panel, you would be great on it, just look at the wonderful CCCs you have done for us all!

Take care everyone!
