Group 7-day waking average?

Booked our flights for our cruise in February. Haven’t flight prices gone up a lot? I guess we’re booking fairly close to the trip though, but managed to find a cheap flight with good times from Gatwick on Norse Atlantic - even buying extra legroom seats on each flight it’s around £500 cheaper than flying from Birmingham (our nearest airport) and is direct too - flights from Birmingham all involved a stop. Even with the taxi down to Gatwick it will be cheaper than flying from here. Need to book hotels now for before and after the cruise, we’re staying for another week after the cruise to get some winter warmth!
Where are you picking up your cruise and where is it going?

We’re very fortunate that my wife’s niece is Cruise Director on the new Royal Caribbean ship Utopia of the Seas (so an opportunity to sample cruising, which we’ve never done, for basically just the cost of the flights), we’re on two mini cruises back to back for a week total to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral (so flying into Orlando). Haven’t planned where we’ll stay after the cruise, but will definitely stay in Florida somewhere.

I used to spend half my life in Nassau and Freeport Bahamas. Back in those days the area of the Nassau resort was quite small, the beaches were glorious white sand and you could have a good night out in the Casino, including a show, for little cost. In fact, it was where I met my husband. Although Julian and I were on the same crew and working together in F/C we passengered out to Nassau via Miami and I didn't get into conversation with him until we met up in the coffee shop of the Nassau Beach Hotel. That was 18 March 1983. Time has flown since then.

I do hope you have a lovely cruise and get some much needed sun!

A very early Sunday good morning. 4.9.

Been awake since just after 4am, got a pain in the back of my skull, on the right hand side. I suspect it’s my neck as it was achy and stiff last night before bed. Not sure why. But I can’t sleep for it so here I am. Nothing pressing today, just our usual lazy Sunday, with a visit to MIL thrown in.

Went to eldest daughter’s yesterday and Mr Eggy and grandson put up granddaughter’s new trampoline. She was very excited and said it was her “best birthday present EVER”. All she wants to do on her actual birthday tomorrow is, “go shopping ( her Christmas money is burning a hole in her pocket) and to MacDonalds”, she’s easy pleased.

Have a great day all.

Good morning, 6.4 here. Off to work in a minute. I've tried a small extra dose of abasaglar this morning to see if it helps with my BGs on work days. I thought it was worth a try.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning! After yesterday evenings shenanigans with a blowback my BG was climbing quite steeply towards midnight and I took extra Neutral and Isophane. Must have got t about right as woke to 8.1.

Cloudy. 10:3am update - what was a light mist is now fog!

Morning and a 8.1 so same as Mikey but strange day BG wise as very normal in morning stayed fairly high yesterday afternoon despite a normal diet and a few correction factors and a walk.We went to a party last night so was keen to stabilise it before the event so decided to eat beforehand and take normal insulin but then to not to take any more to prevent any stacking.
So did end up eating a small amount of the buffet but did not look at Libre all night ( even switched alerts off) and when I looked later it had stayed in 6s all night.
Then had a couple of biscuits along with a coffee before bed as just really wanted a hot drink we got in late, walked the dogs etc.
They were so excited when we got back and wanted to play and we had a great night with friends. One of our crowd sadly died just before a Xmas after a long battle with dementia and a lot of night was spent talking about our memories of him and it was quite rewarding.
The funeral is next week but will be one of those real celebrating the life occasion and will be both sad and happy in equal measure if you understand my thoughts.
Anyway slept like a log last night and looking forward to a nice day and lunch out

This is when we need multi-emojis such as Like and Sad!

A 6.6 this morning, not ideal!
Off to church soon then a friend's for open house. That will involve eating... Fortunately the husband is pre-diabetic so the offering might reflect that:thankyou:.
Have a blessed Sunday for those who have lost track of the days 🙂

Morning all and 6.9 for me. Nice overnight flat fish so basal looks like it's somewhere near.

We've got the woodpeckers back in the garden after not seeing any for a couple of years. Must keep up with the fat balls.

Have a good day everyone.

5.9 this morning for me.

Early days yet, but my new basal, Abasaglar, seems for me to be an improvement over Levemir in that the evenings are more controllable. Let’s see how it pans out over the next few weeks, especially when eating gets more back to normal!

The mist/fog of the past few days is showing signs of lifting, so we are planning a walk somewhere before we start getting cabin fever.

Take care everyone!

Good to know it suits you better, but Levemir was always designed as a twice a day insulin.
