Group 7-day waking average?

I do miss them. Others assume I'd miss the weather or the food, but it really is the people.

A friend is in Spain to visit family for Christmas/New Year. They got an invite to a wealthy friend/neighbour for Christmas lunch/dinner. It was a seafood spread that included caviar, brown crab meat, lobster, etc. followed by sickly sounding desserts washed down with plenty of fine wine. Me jealous - No as I am allergic to seafood but some Bodegas Rioja I was treated to a few years ago, with my roast beef. For dessert I would go with vanilla ice cream with espresso and Frangelico poured over it - I used to use a family run Italian after work on Fridays when I commuted

Morning all, 6.0. A lot better than yesterday thank goodness. I'm working all weekend to cover the other chef who is in hospital with a nasty infection in his leg.
Hope you all have a great day 😎

Good morning 5.5 today

Yesterday I had my Pre-op (the eye surgery is on Monday) whilst the assessor who called me answered a few questions including expected recovery time, (they will sign me off initially for a minimum off 2 weeks off work)
I was surprised on the phone call to be told depending what time I’m seen / how the procedure goes, I may need to be overnighted.

DPD finally yesterday delivered (on behalf of Amazon) a computer monitor, they should’ve delivered that on the 23rd, I had actually received notification from Amazon only yesterday confirming it got lost in the system andthe replacement Amazon were sending yesterday is actually now due to be delivered today 🙄

Im going get up in a minute make cuppa & come back to bed and take a squint through the last few days posts

Have a Superb Saturday folks 😎

Morning everyone. 8.5 for me this morning. My DP alert chimed a little after 5am, so I had to take 2 units of NovoRapid to keep that in check. Looking better now after a breakfast of sausage omelette, oat pancake and coffee. First job today is to renew my prescription and get a new set of Dexcom sensors. Current sensor expires at 7pm today so fingers crossed the next one works as well at this one has. I have not had the best of luck lately, what with sensors failing to pair and/or developing faults early in the session.

Good morning. A very nice 5.5.

Didn’t do much at all yesterday, Mr Eggy visited his mother in the evening after a brother, who visited earlier in the day, sent a message making out she was dying! “We have a hard decision to make soon” he said! All very cryptic. MIL has a DNR in place and the hospital are aware of this but there’s nothing the family can do to hurry things along. So off he went, she was sitting up, for a change, and awake, and she could hear him, for a change, on a drip as still not drinking enough and on a feeding plan, as not eating enough. She has bedsores as they can’t get her to move, they have fitted a catheter as they scanned her bladder and it’s not emptying, other than that she is medically fit. It’s just the delirium although she no longer has a UTI. She kept asking Mr Eggy if she was dying, he said no she wasn’t but needed to eat and drink. She was imploring him not to leave her and couldn’t understand why he couldn’t stay. She still recognised him and called him by the right name, which is a miracle as she has always got the three boys names mixed up, as I do with my kids and grandkids. The nursing staff have said she isn’t dying just old and frail, and they’re still looking at a discharge as soon as a plan is in place for 24 hour care. He was glad he went. Her condition changes on a daily basis. Sometimes she’s almost lucid other days no interaction at all with anyone. Don’t know how long this will go on but she’s definitely not coming out anytime soon.

Today we may walk into town to get a wee present for our Sadie who is 7 on Monday. We’ve bought her a trampoline which has been delivered to their house, Sadie doesn’t know, it’s in the tack room. But I feel she needs a little something to open. We also have her brother’s 18th two weeks later, and just over two weeks after that, baby Eden turns 1 and three weeks after that, Zara turns 4! We’ll never have any money! Ah well, you can’t take it with you.😉

Have a good day, I think it’s Saturday.

Morning all, 5.6 here, more by luck then judgement, overbolused for the risotto I made last night with the leftover gammon, was 4.1 and dropping at bedtime, had the usual jbs and then decided a mince pie would help. It did!
Rode the pony in the fog yesterday, took him in the arena for a bit of schooling, which I don’t often do these days, daughter normally does the hard work. She came with me yesterday as she was off work, and moved poles around for me. I noticed she’d put this up on her fb later.

No-one ever assumed that I missed the weather LOL...or the food, for that matter!

Morning all. 8.5 here, pesky Diabetes Fairy. Luckily, the fog has cleared so she can fly away now, grrr.

Morning

4.6 which happy with as I ate a few to many crackers with the cheese last night, still got the cold and now toothache so a phone call to the dentist on Monday, wonder how long I will have to wait to be seen. Only plans today are shopping as all the leftovers have gone and hopefully going for a walk with friends.

A 5.0 for me this day. 🙂

Morning all. A very surprising 10.2! Yesterday i stayed in range all day, before bed i was 7.1, woken by the alarm and had a correction but it obviously didn't bother to work as the graph shows i spiked to 15!!

Morning All - 6.3 for me which I'm very happy with. Houseful still although my Mum left this morning. She was ill on Boxing Day sadly and it's knocked her sideways a bit as she's never ill (but had a horrible cough for the week before Christmas and probably didn't eat much, so the plate of Christmas Lunch was a bit of a shock to her system I think). Son & daughter-in-law and puppy are on a train to Edinburgh for a day out and the rest of us are driving over the pennines to have lunch with some friends - I'm going armed with smoked salmon blinis and a cheese board. Have a great day everyone xxx

7.6 for me had a stonker of a hypo in night think i over did it
you all take care and have a good day
love to you all
gail

Morning a 7 for me after a late high carb tea which I did not take enough insulin for but a nice day including Lunch out and a bit of shopping.
The garden centre has a Cotton Traders concession and I often buy my shoes there. They don’t have a big selection but they are really comfortable and prices surprisingly good.Of course that is the difference between men and women shopping for shoes lol.
Buffet style tea but probably should not have had all the Pork Pie pastry which sent me high.Off out to a party tonight so be good to catch up with friends.

Carcassonne is a (very) complicated board game. see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcassonne_(board_game) We have all the extensions, when finished it covers the entire dining table. Lots of rules and they change depending on which extension games you are playing with. We've been playing it for many years and we really want some other people to learn and challenge us. Unfortunately we've never found anyone else who can play, so are hoping to teach our friends.
I love Carcasonne, although it's been a few years since we played. Mr B is a board game enthusiast and we have over 100 different games that live in our study! Eldest has inherited the love and we bought him Star Wars themed Caracasonne a few Christmases back, which is better than the name might suggest!

6.9 for me. For the most part, I've been pretty good over Christmas but haven't been testing, as ran out of strips. I think the worst I had was the spoonful of cranberry jelly on my turkey.

But have been eating my last meal of the day much later than usual which is probably a factor in the higher than usual fasting reading.

Visiting my parents today for a buffet lunch and present exchange with my side of the family. My sister is also T2 so she's made a low carb curry for us and I'm about to rustle up a couple of low carb naans to take to share.

This was my earlier entry in my Phantom Pain thread (https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/phantom-pain.115770/):

Good moaning! I eventually fell asleep after mid-night after taking the stronger painkillers but woke an hour ago to a burning sensation on the top of the foot. Taken another painkiller and hopefully will get back to sleep. BG 8.1.

I fell asleep around 5:00 and slept through to 8:00 waking to a reasonable 7.8. A few twinges but no serious pain so far. Feel a tad jaded though.

Gloomy and misty out.

6.8 for me this morning and a much more restful night now that Christmas pudding season is over!

Nearly forgot to jab my insulin before I got up. Swung my legs over the side of the bed and touched the floor with them (but didn't stand up) before I remembered that I am diabetic and need to inject insulin! 🙄
Quickly swung them back under the covers, hoping the DF didn't spot my oversight and jabbed by basal and bolus whilst counting to 10 each time rather faster than usual as my bladder was threatening to explode, but thankfully made it to the bathroom with insulin on board and without accident. However, but my high alarm went off in that 5 second sprint, so the DF clearly spotted my mistake! I don't understand how Libre can take 30 mins to figure out that I have eaten jelly babies when my levels are dropping, but responds in seconds when I get out of bed! Does it have some sort of tilt mechanism on it or does FOTF have some special direct glucose line to the sensor filament? Anyone else notice this with CGM and FOTF. I can lie in bed after I wake up or wake up and then go back to sleep without seeing it on my graph but touch the floor and stand up and that sensor is showing my levels rising immediately!

Morning all and 6.9 for me. Basal has been slowly increasing and is now on the way down again to shut the pesky low alarm up.

Better get back to some music. Rehearsals and gigs in the new year.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all - it's quite nice for a change.

Was woken around 6:30 by the affects of the Dulcelax I took in desperation before bed. Was 9.8 then. Did a 1.35u correction and was 7.7 when I was next woken up by more tummy cramps. Finally gave up after numerous visits to the bathroom and got up at 8:30.

@BobbleHat nice to know someone else has heard of/played Carcassonne. Pity you are too far away to meet up for a game! The friends who are supposed to be coming round this afternoon are dropping like flies. Nasty cold, sick dog etc etc. Sigh! We'll be eating 3 for 2 party snacks for weeks!

So... Look at the time! Better get on.... have a good day all.
