Group 7-day waking average?

8.1 this morning. Last couple of mornings it has been higher which I'm frustrated about but I need to ring the GP as I can't tolerate metformin at all - I can barely swallow it never mind the side effects!

An older friend was diagnosed Type 2 on his retirement. He could not tolerate Metformin as the side effects made him virtually house bound. A change to insulin (8u Actrapid a.m. and p.m. suits him well) did the trick. Being on insulin got him referred to a consultant where further tests showed he was Type 1.5 (LADA). Fifteen years on he is doing well; going to the gym, swimming and growing his own produce. Only concession to age was a move to a bungalow from a second floor maisonette as carrying the shopping up the stairs was becoming a chore. Good luck with the GP. 😉

Looks like I missed some of the HS’s sorry @42istheanswer
then after I posted earlier, looks like a few others are joining those already on the HS step
Looks like there’s a plethora of forum members now @Pam123 & @Eternal422 both joining
I’m sure I’ve still missed someone

It’s good to hear your eye screening went well for you thats a relief for you @BobbleHat

I’m not looking for sympathy and yes I know I go on sometimes
but only because by sharing what I’ve been through, it’s in the hope someone reads my post or someone you know, then doesn’t do as I did (in the past) as I am the text book example of,
someone who previously didn’t attend eye screening when invited, so really not surprised that I developed the problem I’m being treated for, but very grateful for the treatment I’ve already received and currently am receiving.

congrats to those who are about to or are currently celebrating their Diaversary
how to celebrate 😉 maybe change the lancet on the finger pricing device ?

Late posting my 5.5 waking reading today, I went to the dentist and then shopping.
.

Afternoon all. 7.3 @ 9.46am and a lie in due to funny turn last night after pigging out on carbs due to lowering of bg yesterday. I always have to sabotage myself. 🙄 On the plus side I now always get right back down to it. I don't carry on being stupid. Better late than never then.

Congrats to @Eternal422 and @Pam123 on your HS too.

Thats just reminded me, thank you. Since i've been finger pricking a lot more since Sunday due to dodgy sensor, i've been meaning to change the lancet as my fingers were sore.

Abbott has agreed to replace the current sensor as it reads 3-4 higher than a finger prick. I had to go through a lot more questions than i have before though (although i don't have to replace very often). This time, as well as the usual questions, they wanted the model number of the libre 2 meter i use and the batch number of the test strips.q

If you need to report another one try using the on-line reporting they have on the Abbott website , I did report a suspected dodgy one that way recently, and Abbott simply emailed me saying they would replace it FOC.
the online form does need quite a few details, but might be easier than phoning them I think

I have reported some online and it is easier but i needed to report the differences between sensor readings and finger pricks as they were too far apart. I didn't think i could do that online. I'll have a look if it happens another time.

Congratulations @Pam123 on your HS today!

3.8 for me, before dropping further; soon rectified though and it shot skywards; I guess I had too many JBs!

Very tense to this morning, so much so that I couldn't play pool properly (stiff neck). A twenty-minute walk put pay to that.

Good morning/moaning! Woken by. dreadful phantom pain - it feels like the shin bone and ankle bone are shattered! An awful dark lonely place to be. Oh, as bad BG 4.7.

Not the prep I need for this morning's physiotherapy.

Can see s fee stars. Maybe it will not rain for a change.

Update -:mid cuppa had a HS but it moved to 5.3 as I tried to snapshot it.

I'm sorry to hear about the awful phantom pain this morning. I hope transport to physio is straightforward today.

5.8 for me - rising to 6.1 with FOTF.

Penultimate shift in my current job. We're a mostly part time staff so it's already been a week of goodbyes with my current colleagues. I won't miss my hour plus commute but I will miss my work friends very much.

Been to Death Vally, Joshua Tree and Bryce Canyon - all beautiful and well worth visiting. Whilst going to Bryce it would be good to include going to Arches as well - another beautiful place and not a million miles from Bryce Canyon. Enjoy!
There’s tonnes to see/do in that corner of the US. I’m even tempted to go to Lake Havasu and see London Bridge

5.4 and it’s Rosh Hashona today (well it’s the first day anyway). That’s Jewish new year so I’m seeing family later. Food will be consumed.

Morning a 6.3 for me and my alarm went off at about midnight at 4.5 so took some glucose tablets and a small biscuit and that kept me in range for rest of night.Fine apart from really wanting to clean my teeth again but don’t want to disturb “ bedfellows” well wife in the bed and dogs beside the bed.
Nice day yesterday and back to Chester today and a trip to the Wirral.
Enjoy your day

Bora da. 4.3! I’ve skimmed the bottom line all night. Definitely exercise induced.

Lovely day yesterday, short sleeve order at times.. We walked from the NT car park at Aberglaslyn and walked to Beddgelert along the gorge. It was quite tricky at times, definitely not an accessible route! The old lady walking poles had to make an appearance. Very narrow paths at times along the edge. Beautiful though. Had a cuppa and a cake in a lovely cafe, had a wander around the village and walked back the way we came. It seemed harder on the way back! Only four miles walked but a tough four miles. Home for 5.30. Neither of us was hungry even by 7.30, but my BGs were in the fours, we had a picky tea. Cheese and biscuits and Mr Eggy had the stinkiest Camembert ever. I couldn’t face it! Still low at bed time so nibbled an oatie biscuit and a bit of Kendal Mint cake. Did t work.

Today we’re off to Anglesey, to hopefully see the Risso’s dolphins at Point Lynas, then if we’ve got time go to Plas Newydd. I’ve got a free NT pass. Not too much walking today.

Photos today include.
The Abergaslyn Gorge and it’s path.
The Mountain Railway and a train!
Beddgelert
Sunset from the cottage.

Morning all. A good nights sleep was had last night as i took my sensor off in disgust. No alarms, no worrying about lying on it. A new one has now been applied ready for activation tonight. Finger prick shows 4.3 so i'd better get something to eat soon.

@ColinUK any specific sort of food?

@eggyg the path looks perilous! Looks lovely though.

GM

4.7 for me.

Have now booked Hba1c for November , am preparing for the usual 'reduction of Metformin ' discussion. I also wonder if my teeny edible transgressions will come back to bite me?

Wishing everyone a lovely day.
