Group 7-day waking average?

A 4.9 for me this morning. 🙂

Morning all. Another 6.9 for me today.

Saw family last night and picked their brains about cruises. Amazingly my soon to be 23 year old nephew disagrees with everyone else about what would be a good cruise for me. He suggests one with a port a day and lots of activities onboard (like surf simulators and rock climbing walls etc) whereas everyone else says find photos of the library and avoid any ship with more than about 2,500 passenger capacity. That way I’ll be able to find space to chill.
Realistically I might be looking at 2026 cruising because it’s the only way to get a reasonably priced solo cruise but I’ll look for 2025 as well.
Certainly more research is needed, and that research is kinda fun!

@everydayupsanddowns Nothing from the lawyer yesterday. I’ll chase on Tuesday.
We really enjoyed a Norwegian Fjord cruise on a small ship so not so overwhelming, Cruise and Maritime from Hull but I think they also go from Tilbury so no flying.
The other option is river cruises who friends have done and really enjoyed. If you like visiting cities have a look at those.

Morning! Second... and 6.3
Serving on the Bluebell Railway again today and being pulled by Britain's newest steam loco 'Beachy Head' What a joy!
I shall be, no doubt selling many teas and coffee's from the buffet car!
Blessings

Morning a 6.1 to me.
Snowy just mentioned your post to my wife as she used to work for Unipart Rail about 15 years ago and she dealt with Bluebell as one of her customers.
She dealt with a guy called Charles and always came home in a good mood after speaking to him calling him charming even though they never met.
She said it was a real, pleasure trying to help him secure parts rather than dealing with the more commercial customers.
Anyway off for a walk then a nice lunch out at a garden centre.

Good morning 5.4 today (in-fact I’m looking a nice line on the libre app with nothing above 6 all night)
yesterday was 6.0 on waking
I didn’t post yesterday as I overslept then was rushing to get out to work,

Have a wonderful weekend 😎

Good morning. 6.6

Quite a nice morning but rather chilly. Bungalow trip went OK. It was also OK - nothing exciting but will stay on list as a possible. Good views, lousy land, tidy neighbours - not too close, too near the road but an extremely quiet one.

Had another set of details emailed to me - property is still in probate but I went to have a look as it is within 5 miles of a town (i.e.taxi-able if I lose my licence) and in lovely countryside. Gate to 400m long drive padlocked but details say you have to walk as no room for turning by house. Decided to revisit with a friend as that is a very long walk for me but it looks pretty flat going on google earth. Meanwhile snooped as many views a possible from neighbours drive. House derelict, land overgrown, needs a new water supply, situation brilliant. I must be bonkers - I am going back for a look!

Have a lovely Bank holiday folks.

First cruise the folks did was a fjord cruise. Mum said it was so boring and that if you’ve seen one fjord you’ve seen them all!
I’m not feeling a river cruise as my first one as I want the experience of being on a ship rather than a boat. That said I would consider a Nile cruise maybe.

4.4 this morning for me.

Spent another day on the locks yesterday. It started really quiet with no boats moving at all, then after a coffee whilst waiting at top lock we had a pair wanting to go down the flight. We were almost at bottom lock when we met another pair coming up and then a single boat, so had lots to do and ended up not stopping for lunch until about 2pm. Lovely weather though, so it was a very pleasant shift on the locks. The exercise and fresh air really seem to make a difference to my well being as well as improving BG levels.

Not much planned for this weekend so I’m hoping to have a play with radio stuff, making the best of the rainy bank holiday weekend weather.

@eggyg - had a chuckle about your “comfort”able grand daughter! Glad it wasn’t serious and she hadn’t drunk any!

Take care everyone!

Good moaning! 11.1 this morning after a big spike following very uncomfortable DMO eye injection yesterday. It seemed for a time it might not happen (again). I was not home till about 6:00pm. Will have a quiet day - ten appointments in three weeks was an appointment or two too far!

After the injection I saw streaks of blood in my eye but they unconcerned about this. This is now more of a red mist so struggling a bit with vision on the right (cannot read and keeping it closed at moment). It was quite gritty and gungey after a restless night. Fortunately I had some sterile wash (also suitable for eyes) and sterile wipes to clean it all up. With the left over I cleaned up the blisters that had formed on my poorly leg. They are almost healed.

Grey and autumnal.

@Elenka_HM how very irritating the sensors can be! Abbott will still replace, 2 days or a week makes no difference.
Oh, that's good to know. Anyway I had some spares so I prefer to save myself the call.

Good morning - 8.5

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning folks.

Not the best start of the day for me. Yesterday evening I was late for work because I didn't hear my 2 alarms after my nap. Don't know if I slept through them or it was an issue with the phone. To be on the safe side, this morning I put 3 alarms and upped the volume to the max. Surprise, surprise... didn't wake up either. Was even later for work, and it was a busy day, and they had some problem with the kitchen gas which meant no fried eggs or hash browns today. Bet some guests were not pleased. To make things better it was raining on the way there so I arrived with wet trousers and very uncomfortable and annoyed... sight.

I don't know what to do for tomorrow. Do you think they still sell alarm clocks? I always put my phone on plane mode when I go to sleep but maybe tonight I won't, so they can call me if I don't show up on time. This morning the alarm seems to work, maybe I am sleeping too deep? I'm a bit concerned now.

Oh, and of course didn't have a chance to check my BG first thing in the morning. I was already more than an hour late and my glucose meter has an habit to start asking you to adjust time and date when you are in a real rush to test! (Usually when I suspect a hypo and my hands are shaking). Technology is not my friend today. I finally tested after 2 hours of work and a Skinny Crunch bar and it was a 7'4.

Morning all.5.3 for me this morning.Did dip into the red during night.Phone battery went totally dead It's on 24 /7 with the blue tooth and cgm Don't think it will last till next may when contract is up . Hope everyone is doing well and have a good day folks

I use my garmin watch alarm. I've not yet slept through the vibration on my wrist.

Very, very early starts in the Nile cruises. 5am ish.
Our one and only cruise was a Royal Caribbean Cruise. We opted for a large table for dinner as we thought there would be at least one person we’d like! We ended up with a family from Boston ( US not Lincolnshire!) two older teenagers celebrating the end of their school life before college. We got on great and kept in touch for a while.
It was a huge ship with maybe 5000 passengers but never felt packed as it was so big. You struggled to get in the pools on sea days but we didn’t mind. Lots of different nationalities which I liked. Lots of restaurants to chose from, lots of amenities, gyms, sports etc. we enjoyed it but have chosen not to do another one as we felt too restricted, having to get back to the ship at a certain time. ( We’re free spirits!). We also don’t need entertained, not bothered about shows, although they were good, we didn’t visit the nightclub or casino.
We did the western Med, flew to Barcelona, did south of France, just walked off the shop at Toulon and did our own thing. Did Monaco, loved it. Then Rome, a long trip from the port but glad we did it. Our favourite was the day we did Pompei, we were taken to Salerno by tender, lovely little town, had a wander along the cobbled streets and paid €20 for two Diet Cokes, bus along the beautiful Amalfi coast to a nunnery for lunch under the grapevines. Then on to Pompei. Unforgettable, must go back as we couldn’t see everything. We had a guide which was helpful.
We booked a balcony cabin but even in June it was a bit cool to sit out when the ship was at sea. In hindsight an outside cabin would have been better, and cheaper! You definitely won’t be bored but if you want peace stay on the ship when it’s in dock and almost everyone gets off. We did that on the Florence day, we sat at the bow of the ship just chilling, no one else was there.

Just do it online, so easy. Do you use the app? Go to the order sensors page then Libre support and the form is on the top of the page. You generally only need to speak to them if you have a big discrepancy between Libre and finger pricking. You’ll need your sensor number first.

Okay, will research how to do online for next time. I don't have the app, tho, my phone is not compatible. Might be time for an upgrade soon...

Afternoon folks, I had a lay-in this morning and only just got up to a 5,7 on the finger-prick.

I had been awake for hours and as it was raining I decided to watch a film. Have a good rest of the day
everyone and stay safe,
.
