Congratulations on the House Special @Amyfaith (5.2 was always the number on marketing materials for BG meters so extra points for hitting that hallowed number )
Yesterday was brilliant. Great short walk with an ice cream! Church was good. The drum backings I had selected for the praise songs were accepted and used to good effect and my song went really well too (with its own guitar backing).
Today hopefully 2 walks one this morning and the other this afternoon.
Next month I have to tighten up on my diet to lose a little weight and to ensure my HbA1c in September has improved
But right now it's breakfast...
Ok, it's not that really but it looks good and tasty. Mine is really a small quarter bowl of breakfast cerial and 50g of banana. In fact there's not much on that plate that I like!
Now this is much more like it...
Or maybe...
Comparing those to what I actually eat for breakfast is quite remarkable. I suspect that I might possibly put on a little weight if I tucked into that lot.
My friend is coming round after she's finished work and i'm doing her some lunch. We shall sit in the garden and eat, drink (water!) and chat for as long as the heat lets us. I have a south facing garden and its quite a sun trap so it gets really warm. Weather says its going to feel like 29°!!
@PattiEvans nice photos. We liked Porthleven when we went there a few years ago. @Bloden I'm very jealous that you can easily get to a beach. Being by the sea i always find very calming. Enjoy the paddle/swim.
Have a good day everyone and be careful in the sun and heat.
Pain levels down to tolerable - yesterday was Hellish. I shall be walking on eggs all day not to provoke the demons. Managed to get some sleep which certainly helped.
Talked to caretaker of Arts and Crafts house - not brilliant news. Major bay is separating from house - not the window as the estate agent said but the masonry - 2 storeys of it. £5000 to trim massive trees before one starts renovating - EEK!. The real probable killer (unmentioned by estate agent) is that a pre-application for planning had been submitted for 50 houses behind the leisure centre opposite the house which will take access from the currently very quiet rural lane which is to be widened to 2 lanes. So this posh house will have the hoi polloi as neighbours and the traffic they generate passing the gate. I will still go and look at it as chum says it is (or was) beautiful but I shall probably not make an offer or if I do it will be a very low one indeed. Looks like more hours on rightmove...Pity I am not a millionaire.
@eggyg I am amazed at your stamina, kindness and generosity in caring for grandchildren. Pity about the balloon. Have a nice restful Monday.
Super sunny morning - long may it last. Hope everyone is enjoying the same.
Another lovely morning here and wall-to-wall blue sky and sunshine forecast for the day, with temperatures likely to hit the low 80s. Got all our laundry done yesterday and managed to dry the whole lot out on the line. Up just after 7 o'clock as usual and 5.7 when I tested.
5.5 this morning. Not too bad after yesterday's late tea. Diabetic pre-pregnancy clinic this afternoon, will see if they want to increase metformin based on the fasting BGs and the slight increase in HbA1c when they last checked it (though it was still in "non-diabetic" range so they may just leave it for now - I'm wondering whether they may let me get away with higher fasting levels if my HbA1c stays good in pregnancy, assuming I do conceive at some point but a bit nervous about actually asking!).
Morning all - another stunningly glorious day. Hope I get to spend some time outdoors, though at least 2.5 hours will be spent crouching over the computer doing the HCL training via Teams this afternoon.
8.5 first thing. Not surprising after yesterday, but I really would like to get back in the 5s again. Perhaps I'll get some advice on my basals this afternoon! The problem has been never seeing a pattern.
Didn't get a chance to post my 6.1 reading earlier, was too busy rounding up Poppy the moggie for her annual MOT at the vets. It seems she's got a touch of arthritis (just like her old owner 🙄)
Morning all.Another sunny day up here.Nice cooling breeze blowing.Get the hedge cut this afternoon..6.6 for me this morning.Comgrats to @Amyfaith and @its okay on your Hs Enjoy your day folks
Frustrated by lawyers. I have had an offer from CICA but there are questions about their methodology and calculations so I want to run my thoughts past a lawyer before perhaps asking CICA for a reassessment. I’ve reached out to a number of solicitors; some are CICA specialists, some are not.
So far every single one has responded saying that they won’t accept my case on a no win no fee basis so they can’t help.
I’m not looking for no win no fee but rather I want to pay them for their time and guidance myself.
It’s very frustrating and it triggers all those feelings and thoughts surrounding not being heard.
I have another phone appointment with a specialist solicitors this afternoon. They’ve already emailed to say that they can’t take the case so I don’t know what point there is in the phone call but at least I’m be able to explain that I wasn’t looking for nwnf representation.
Of course the more they’re telling me that can’t accept the case the more determined I am to do it all by myself and sod ‘em.
In other news, physio was very pleased and I’ll be discharged in three months. That’s dependent on my not needing to see him between now and then.
I got a bit emotional when I was thanking him for his excellent care and for allowing me the space to bring my mental health and abuse related stuff into the physio consultations. I commented that he always gave me space I needed and has been so supportive during my recovery and that I’m grateful for that.
He said that it’s been a pleasure, he’s learnt things about himself through treating me, and said he’ll miss me.
We hugged. I shed a little tear.
I’m off to see the hygienist after the gym later. We won’t hug.
Morning and a 7.2 and such horrific news from Southport in an area I know well that affects the most vulnerable in society and will severely impact on many families and the community. My heart and best wishes/ condolences reach out to to all concerned.
Whatever you do hug your nearest and dearest and tell them you love them and let us all pray/ hope for a better world.
