Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all from a bit calmer Brighton. 7.6, too high for me but you know what it’s like when you’re away.

Eventually arrived 7 hours after we left home. Two comfort breaks and a bit of a standstill on the M25. Checked in at 3.30 and after unpacking we took ourselves off to the front via the Brighton Pavillion gardens. Very nice. Wandered through lots of little streets and got to the seafront. It was perishing, that wind just cut right through you. Mr Eggy in photography heaven, I was just absolutely chittered. But at least it was dry, the forecast for the rest of the week is wet and VERY windy. Gusts of over 50 mph on Thursday, I wish I’d packed my woolly hat! Not a lot of eateries open, maybe Monday is a bad day or they only open during the holiday season. We got fish and chips in Harry Ramsden’s, we got there three minutes before last orders, it was only 6,30!. We had had this romantic notion we’d bet them from a takeaway and eat them on the beach watching the sunset. 1. We didn’t get a sunset and B. I would have froze to death! Fingers crossed the wind today is not quite as cold. Lots of folks didn’t seem to feel the cold though the way they were dressed! Brrr! I thought as tough northerners we’d be ok down south but we ended up looking like we were in the Arctic!

In other non Brighton news. We found out yesterday that after 17 years and a run of four girls, we’re finally having another grandson! That warmed my heart, at least! I’m not really qualified to deal with boys as a mother of three daughters and grandmother of five girls and one, now 17 year old, boy. I’m sure I’ll muddle through, Mr Eggy is dusting off his Corgi cars and Scalextrix!

@Wendal Radio 2 for the first half of the trip, an hour of James O’Brien on LBC and finished off with Classic FM.

Have a great day all.

Here’s some photos I took when I could bear to take my gloves off!
I am not near Brighton, but here in Essex, since the pandemic many restaurants around here close the early part of the week.

About 10 before breakfast, bgs off up a mountain now as couldn’t prebolus. Had local yoghurt with a bit of granola, berry compote, seeds, poached apricot, and then a cooked breakfast

The yoghurt didn’t taste sweet, it was strawberry flavour but didn’t sense much sugar, I didn’t know whether berry compote and poached apricot are just fruit or involve sugar too. Also not sure on carbs in granola, that had lots of seeds and coconut bits in.

Morning everyone

A happy 5.9 for me today and the sun is shining and very pleasant outside, off for a brisk walk now.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning all.,8.6 for me this morning.Hopefully getting back to normal after Saturdays shenanigans. Was ok till lunchtime yesterday.took dog out and reached the heavy highs of 19.4 . Hope everyone is doing well and have a good day folks

Good morning 6.6

On 2nd course of antibiotics but now making progress. Avoided admission by pleading -- thank goodness for a susceptible GP! Mr Wolf and Peachy being cared for by lovely neighbours who are off to do my shopping today. Weather filthy wet and grey today so not missing anything.

Hope everyone OK - can't face reading weeks of back messages.
Nice to see you back @TinaD You were missed. We were all concerned about you.

Morning all - lovely day, blue sky and little white fluffy clouds. Wall to wall sunshine. Different to yesterday's non-stop downpour.

7.9 this morning. Hardly surprising after what I ate yesterday. I ill-advisedly had a hot cross bun for breakfast. Then our friend can be a little eccentric when she entertains. Started with a pizza and a dish of lighly curried cauliflower and sweet potato accompanied by flatbreads. Hommous and coleslaw. Then Lidl's finest meringue roulade (which was actually delicious and I was surprised as I normally find bought desserts far too sweet). Then cheese and oatcakes - followed by Toblerone truffle chocolates. Much later at home I had just one slice of toast with pate for supper - but at one point I hit 22 mmol. Ah well, it's just 1 day and I don't do it often.

Nothing on today but a visit to the Chiropractor.

Have a good one.... love to hear all your stories.

Morning

8 this morning, didn’t do so well with the eating yesterday, and got the sniffles again with a fever, not a full blown cold yet, just high temp and a nose that hasn’t stopped dripping.

@TinaD - lovely to see you back, sorry to hear you have not been well.

@eggyg and @Lucyr - hope you are both enjoying your trips.

Will catch up with posts later.

Deliveries!!!!

We just had our groceries delivered ... two items were mouldy! I mean seriously, obviously mouldy.

Customer services were great and the items will be refunded, but why no care at the point of picking?

Grrrrr

Berry compote is likely to contain extra sugar I think.

I like the way your friend doesn’t restrict menu design to conventional norms!

Text received from the GP. They’ve sent a scrip for doxy through to Boots and have contacted the hospital to see why I’ve a biopsy appointment rather than a dermatology one. It was a clerical error in the hospital system and I’ve now got a dermatology appointment instead.
All sorted.

Then the GP called “just for a chat to see how I was doing”.

When they do things right they do them very right it must be said.

Maybe I’ll try just the poached fruit tomorrow, or take a little insulin in advance since that part of the breakfast is help yourself

I think I might try a similar yoghurt berries and granola type breakfast at home as I always enjoy it in hotels. I’ve never found a yoghurt at home that tastes as mild as hotel yoghurts though. And not sure where to start with buying granola. Might be something to start experimenting with.

If you want to be adventurous you could certainly make your own low carb granola. And yoghurt isn’t too tricky to make at home either!
