Me too. I check constantly until we're in the car. I've asked hubby to go through it with me as well because sometimes in the car i've had a panic i've forgotten something (i haven't yet, fingers crossed it stays that way) and he reassures me.I could buy clothes if I’d forgotten anything but trying to replace insulin/ Creon etc would be a bit more difficult. I have an absolute fear of forgetting my medication,
An early good morning. 7.3, this sensor is reading a bit high I’ve discovered this morning. But I’ll go with it.
Up far too early for a Sunday but I’ve had a decent sleep and I need to clean my fridges out! I can’t sleep when I’m going away, so I just gave up and got up. I also need to finish my book as I’m almost there and I like to take a new book with me when I’m going on holiday. I’m also going to write some lists, what to do before I go away, eg clean the fridges out! And what to pack, not clothes, that obvious, but meds, chargers, tickets for concert etc. I could buy clothes if I’d forgotten anything but trying to replace insulin/ Creon etc would be a bit more difficult. I have an absolute fear of forgetting my medication, I never have but that’s because I’m a prolific list writer. And most importantly the washing and ironing needs to be done ( I ticked that off yesterday) and my kitchen and bathrooms need to be clean and bleached and I need to Hoover through. It’s just how I am, I couldn’t come back to a tip and a pile of washing. You’d think I was going away for two months instead of just five days!
Have a good day, forecast good here, if a tad chilly, but at least we don’t have the gusty winds we had yesterday. Biting they were. Brrr!
I always think of you when I go away and double check the temp!Me too. I check constantly until we're in the car. I've asked hubby to go through it with me as well because sometimes in the car i've had a panic i've forgotten something (i haven't yet, fingers crossed it stays that way) and he reassures me.
Don't forget to check the fridge temperature where you are staying.
Even though I won’t be driving, I always take my set of car keys in my bag, just incase of such incidents. That would be a nightmare. Back in the day we could open our Ford Escort Mark I with a 10p piece and hot wire it to start. Not sure that would work with the Jag!Don't forget the car keys. I know someone who forgot them only to find they had locked themselves out!
I’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve looked ourselves out of the car. I did it twice in the first week of passing my driving test. First time was when I visited a family member and parked behind her car in the drive. So she couldn’t go and get the spare keys. No mobiles then, had to wait until Mr Eggy got home from work and I rang him on the landline. The second time was just two days later, went to the local shops with all three kids, youngest was only 5 months old. I walked to in laws carrying baby and shopping and dragging two reluctant children behind me. Again had to wait until Mr Eggy finished work. That was the last time! It’s impossible to lock the keys in modern cars thank goodness. Our car even sends an alert if we haven’t locked it!Morning all.
Dad always tells the tale of his first car and getting locked out of it.
Wasn’t an issue at all though as he could just pop the entire lock out of the door and open it that way.
Was an Austin 6 I think. Passenger door lock fell out one time he was going round Parliament Square and the door flew open. Mum grabbed the steering wheel to stop being thrown out!
Oh and 7.1
In a business trip to the US I forgot to take spare cartridges, and had with me only what was in the pens. Luckily the trip was short and the pens were almost full, but I still ended using the last of the Novorapid as we were landing in Heathrow.Morning all - another day that can't make it's mind up. Yesterday turned out lovely and sunny but the wind was blooming freezing.
6.2 this morning.
Grocery shopping today and cooking a Sunday roast with a Venison haunch topped with latticed bacon. It came as part of our last "game box".
I recall with a shudder going away (350 miles) for the 40th wedding anniversary party of some close friends. Hubby shouted up the stairs "I've put your insulin in the car". I believed him. In the event he had put in the empty Frio bag that I'd left by the fridge for the insulin. I knew nothing of it until just as I was changing for the party and needed to change my pod. I spent most of the party touring local pharmacies and eventually waiting in A&E as NO ONE stocked Apidra. Eventually a doctor prescribed Novorapid.
Have a good day all!
