Group 7-day waking average?

Good moaning! :( A none-to-good 11.1 this morning. Mind you 111 is the symbol of inner wisdom and positive thinking. Not sure of the latter some days! That reading was an hour ago when I woke with phantom pain to the left and stinging to the right! A footbath in a while will help the right foot as extrudate tends to dry at the edges of the wounds now they are exposed to the air in the flat (I never call it home as it doesn't feel like home). :( This is where I miss Libre as I don't know if it is a pain spike or DP coming out to play?

Nothing on today for a change. Yesterday's Ophthalmology appointment was not a great success. Guess what - when I did the eye chart using the pin holes, twenty minutes after getting drops and a few more than that after the initial acuity test, I only got half way down the chart it was that blurry. In fact my vision was blurred for nearly
eight hours from 11:00 - 19:00! I have to go back in two to three weeks! At least I had the same crew both ways and with one having taken me many times over the last three years we could have a grumble about how NHS resources are wasted as they were yesterday and on a number of previous occasions. The really annoying thing was I had a previous appointment related to my hearing which has been iffy since I had Covid that I cancelled putting vision ahead of hearing. It was the third time I have had to cancel that appointment.

Weather dark with rain running down the kitchen window!

Update - just re-tested and it is now 7.3, and so it is good morning! 🙂

Morning all. 4.7! I go from the sublime to the ridiculous. I checked with a finger prick when I came downstairs and that was 5.1 so it wasn’t a compression low. Early brekkie it is then. Yeah!

My last day of freedom before five days of childcare, two of those days we have three of them! Ah well I’ve had three days to myself what more do I want? 😉

Safe journey home @Robin and big congratulations @freesia on your House Special.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

It's 8.4 now I've barely slept thought

Looking after 3 grandchildren! I love looking after mine but one nearly 3 year old at a time is enough

Good morning everyone.

BG 4.9 surprisingly a bit low after all the rubbish I ate yesterday, but it is ok

Today, regiggling things in the 'music room' as my wife wants another instrument in there. I will practice the unaccompanied song that I will be bringing on Sunday at church. I will also do some exercise on the beach with my friend. And it's stew again for tea! I worked out how to make a really tasty stew that lasts 4 days worth of meals for two people....it's a lot of work preparing it initially though. A secret recipe, which I will happily tell you if anyone wants to know. 🙂

Have a great day today whatever you are doing

Good start to today with a 5.2 🙂 . Although I see I was in the red a bit overnight, but not enough to wake me.

Congratulations to my fellow HSer, @freesia ! Also, congratulations to @Martin.A for your HS yesterday.

Weather is forecast to be good today, albeit a little cooler. We’re aiming for Fradley Junction today where we will turn ready to head back towards the marina for the rest of the week.

Have a good day everyone!

:D Moooooorning!:D 5.6 here.

Wednesday, woohoo. Well, I had a phone call from one of the surgery big-wigs, trying to re-jig this Dexcom appointment for next week. Looks like I’m not the only T1 diabetic that can’t make it at such short notice (we do have lives, you know). She sounded very peeved that I couldn’t do any days next week and said we’d just have to leave it for now. I asked the million-dollar question - which Dexcom? 1? G6? Drum roll...she didn’t know. Eh?!! How odd.

Roll on the weekend.

I’ve five altogether and another on the way! The eldest two are almost 17 and working so no babysitting needed. The youngest three are 11,5 and 2. It’s half term and parents of the two older girls are working Thursday and at a wedding Friday. So they’re staying over Thursday and Friday night. We always have the two year old on a Friday so I’ve decided, in my wisdom, to throw a mini Halloween party and she’s going to sleepover too! I know I’m bonkers! They’ll all go home mid Saturday but youngest coming back Sunday for a few hours whilst her parents go to an Escape Room and Sunday lunch. Then she’s back Monday, we do every other and it’s our turn. Gosh, I’m worn out just writing all that!

6.3

Had an email from the senior police officer yesterday afternoon with an update following our recent meeting.
She’s compiled a training pack and distributed it to the officers in the RASSO team in the borough already but there’s an appetite to do more.
She has asked if I’d be happy to come in for a Q&A session, either prerecorded or live, with officers or if I’d like to do a presentation to both the senior team and the frontline officers in the borough command unit.

I’m impressed at the speed of developments as I’d thought nothing would happen until at least end of Q1 next year. Clearly what I said had an impact.

In her email she’s obviously cognisant of the potential stress on me of whatever the next step may be and to that end I replied saying that I want to sit with my thoughts for a few days and will reply next week.

Had a quick chat with Laura my ISVA immediately afterwards (she’s cc’d in on the emails) and we’ve scheduled a longer zoom call for Monday morning to strategise.

Clearly I’m going to do something with the police as it’s the right thing to do and it’s for the greater good. I’m unsure what that something looks like just yet as it’s also imperative that it strikes the balance between getting the message across and not taking too much of an emotional toll.

My gut feeling is for a live Q&A rather than a formal presentation. I think it’ll have potential to be more relaxed if it’s live rather than videoed. Also I’ll be more able to drill down into nuance if I’m in the room with officers rather than through a video screen.

I’m being honest when I say that there’s a certain amount of trepidation, almost reluctance, about doing it at all though. That thought sits alongside the belief that it’s a Good Thing (TM) and the knowledge that I’ll do something I’m just not sure what.

I’ll sit with the thoughts, discuss them with my therapist and with Laura and I’ll come to whatever next step is best for me. But it is positive if somewhat daunting!

Sounds brilliant and very brave
I have 2 both almost 3 only a month separates them in age. We normally see/ have the one on Fridays too. Hopefully when hubbies fully recovered from surgery this will resume . The other lives in California so only get to see her on visits ( FaceTime isn’t the same)

Halloween sleep over at Eggy Towers sounds like fun!

Morning all

6.0 today not sure if that is still from the flu jab or more likely the small slice of coconut and chocolate cake I brought home from Bakeclub for my son, who apparently isn’t keen on coconut. Hubby demolished his large slice on Monday when I got home. Lost 1 1/2 lbs at weight in, still not quite got the stone, but only 1/2lb to go. 3 days off of work, so going to do a bit of housework this morning, then off to a garden centre for a look around later, they have a lovely Christmas dec area, be interesting to see if we can come away without buying anything.

@freesia - congratulations on your HS

@Eternal422 - congratulations on your HS and enjoy your time away on the boat.

@ColinUK - so proud of you for doing this to improve how victims are supported in the future. I hope it brings real change, not just in your borough but across the Met and maybe other police forces.

@eggyg - loving the recipe and what time should we all arrive for the Halloween Party and sleep over, do we need to bring fancy dress.
