Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all. After a pretty wet night with very heavy rain at times my day started off with a 5.1.

Now where’s my porridge.

Another sunny start here, although it must have rained a lot overnight as the garden furniture is soaking. I didn't sleep that well as it was a bit muggy even with both bedroom windows open. Got up at 7 as usual having seen something-past-3, something-past-4 and something-past-5 on our bedside clock overnight. 5.5 when I tested.

Tuesday is one of my swim days so I'll be off to the pool later to get my 20 lengths in before lunch. Tempted to have it at our favourite cafe in town as they do a cracking BLT, freshly made and brought to your table. I'll see how I feel when I'm done at the pool. I've got what I need to make one at home if I want.

@Gwynn - congrats on the HS

@MikeyBikey - hope it goes well at podiatry

Enjoy your Tuesday, everyone.

Good morning - or it would be if you were a frog. BS 5.8 and heartily sick of the rain.

Both the met and the BBC are forecasting some rain, from heavy, thunderstorm and light - not on the same days or same intensities - for the foreseeable future. What a summer - bake then slake. Was feeling a bit sad about lack of strawberies in the garden until I read that the English pick-yr-own crop has failed worse than in 2007. What's next? A plague of frogs? Boils?

Off to a quarry to inspect sandstone. Waterproofs and a grim expression are the only requirements for that...

Hope @eggyg feeling better soon, that @ColinUK gets some better support from the police and @Gwynn is celebrating the HS. I shall now grump off, stage left, muttering...

Have a good day all.

I am a bit worried. Unless someone gives me a house I will be homeless, and with all the rain predicted.... 🙂

@ColinUK I know you have a stash of houses somewhere...

Morning all and 5.4 for me.

Good rehearsal last night ready to rock in Leeds on Friday night. Not sure how successful it will be there have been quite a few good gigs locally recently and we won't be finishing until after the last trains.

Never mind we'll give em what for.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all on this grey and rainy day. It does worry me somewhat that it's same same same forecast for the forseeable future.

7.7 this morning. Didn't have time to cook yesterday so had home made butter chicken last night out of the freezer + 3/4 of a very small naan. Shot up to 19.1 at 1am despite numerous corrections. Went to bed then.

Still, we got all that pesky ironing done between us yesterday. 6 hours of it, but pathetic creature that I am, I really LOVE the new iron. It glides over things removing creases with little or no effort and it's about half a hundredweight lighter than the old one. Then instead of getting dinner we went on the computer and booked a short break in Harrogate. A friend has just been there and she was telling me all the places she'd visited and it brought back memories of visiting the same places when I was a little girl. (Knaresborough, Skipton, York etc.) Am getting quite excited!

@ColinUK have you heard back from the SOIT officer about a face to face meeting? So sorry you are going through this.

@TinaD don't work too hard quarrying that sandstone or you know what it'll do to your back!

@eggyg I do hope you are feeling better today.

Catching up on sleep & just got phone call from hospital DSN to go in tomorrow at the hospital outpatient’s, on a Bank Holiday, to get my libre 2 fitted. 🙂

Worth the annoyance of being woken up, AGAIN, right after dropping off after midday meds & tresiba went in!

Oh! Old habits die hard: 12:28 BS 5.0

@freesia Isn’t it just so much fun?!
I thought it was so good!! The stunts had me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoy all of the Mission Impossible films and i think the comic elements in it make it fun.

Oh dear on the weather, I better pack my waterproof for my visit to West Wales tomorrow for 5 days on a church bellringing tour. Staying in the Travelogde in Carmarthen and going to all bar 2 of the churches with bells, ending on Sunday at St David's Cathedral.
Slightly familiar territory as my ex husbands family had a farm near Cwmpengraig so spent quite a bit of time in that area some 50 ish years ago.

Full kit required - I've been out sandbagging the drive and clearing the highway drains. Are you ringing anywhere near Llandysul?

Yes, we are starting off on Thursday at Llandovery, then Llandysul, Cardigan, Nevern. Friday is Swansea and Carmarthan, Sat is Llanstefan, Tenby, St Florence and Haverfordwest and Sun St David's.
I am with a group of about 15 people, somebody else has kindly volunteered to drive.
Better pack the wellies.

Just thought I’d say hi. I’ve been catching up on everyone’s news. Struggled a bit in recent weeks. Starting to feel a bit better.m and more in control of diabetes. Will try to start posing again.
7.7 this morning.

@Pattidevans not had a reply from the new SOIT yet but I didn’t expect to get one until later in the week.
I’m hoping she read my email and went to the OIC and asked him exactly what’s been going on with my case and getting up to speed with the communication issues.
Of course she could just be thinking I’m a moaning sod…
If I don’t have a response by the weekend then I’ll send a follow up and I’ll cc my ISVA and the OIC. If I really wanted to then I’m sure I could find out who the DS is who’s in charge of the whole unit and email them. Hopefully I won’t have to do any of that though.

Booking opened this morning for the next season at Covent Garden. I’ve spent way too much money but I’ve booked for:

Das Rheingold
Rigoletto
Jeptha (which I’m also seeing at the ENO next season)
La forza del destino
L’elisir d’amour
The Dante Project (a new “monumental” work mixing dance and opera apparently)
Picture a day like this (a new opera partly written by one of my favourite playwrights, Martin Crimp. I used to love doing his plays when I had the chance)
New work by Fallen Angel dance company - they specialise in working with recovering addicts and others with trauma. They conceive narrative works collaboratively and the dancers are also mainly addicts. I think it might be quite a powerful piece.

I’ve also booked for The Handmaid’s Tale at the ENO today as it was bugging me I’d not booked.

There are some things I’m not seeing at Covent Garden next season but it’s mainly because I just didn’t fancy them. And 9 additional CCC’s is enough to keep me busy!

Tomorrow I’m seeing Don Carlos with a friend who hasn’t ever been to an opera before. It’s had solid 5* reviews and all I really know is that pretty much everyone ends up dead at the end of the four hours!
