Journey 2 Remission/Reversal II (Don't call it a comeback).

Hope you find a BG management approach that works for you BMB.

If something isn’t working for you, there are plenty of other option you can try.

The metabolism and bodies are weird and complicated things, and most of them don’t seem to have read the instruction manual and are determined to do their own thing.

Good luck with it.

If I had to do ow-carb then I would. I wouldn't choose to doi it, though.

i have no evidence yet, that the plan I'm going to be doing doesn't work, so there's no need to even consider it.

Always good to keep options open. And yes, if it works for you then great!

Seems like ‘life’ keeps getting in the way a bit for you though if your Feb attempt needs starting again from Day Zero.

Wishing you every success with finding a way that you can sustain. 🙂

Not sure why you'd put "life" in inverted commas, as that's exactly what has happened. But I'm not sure why you think that another diet would weather the daily battering of alcohol etc.

When I'm on this plan, it feels like there's no real restriction. Of course, I don't eat animal-products, but that's been something I've been doing for 6 years. I make tasty food, and even at larger deficits I feel satisfied.

The diet is not failing me (or, at least, it hasn't yet), it's me failing the diet...and for reasons that are mainly distinct from the food. There's not a single diet I would've been abe to succeed at, in its stead.

Putting ‘Life’ is just my shorthand for all-the-many-things-that-can-combine-to-distract-from-and/or-confound-our-best-efforts-from-the-tiny-and-insignificant-to-momentous-and-earth-shattering.

The ‘ ’ were only meant as emphasis. Could just have easily put life or life. Not intended to upset you, or belittle whatever you may have been experiencing. :care:

I didn't think you were trying to belittle my experience. However, inverted commas normally denote sarcasm in such contexts.

Either way, this last year has probably been the worst of my life. This time last yesr, I had my lowest HBa1C, and was regularly drawing random bloods in the 7's. I was also about 12 kilos lighter. Unfortunately, huge life upheaval turned me from someone who'd have a few beers, once a month, to drinking spirits on the daily. Those sessions were always accompanied with snacks and poor food choices to follow. After passing out, I'd often wake at 2-3 am and eat again.

I'm now at the stage where my average BG is circa 18mmol/ However, I have seemed to be getting ny drinking under control as of late. It really is the thing that has been throwing me off.

Anyway, nothing else to be said really. I just have to keep on keeping on.

Gonna be offline as of tomorrow. Will try to upload tracking details, once a week.
