Group 7-day waking average?

When we stayed with our Gran in Lincolnshire we always had Yorkshire Pudding as a dessert, with Golden Syrup. Just looked up Golden Syrup nutrition details online - 80% carb, all of it sugar...!
When we had stew and dumplings, my father insisted on the dumplings being served separately first, with golden syrup (notwithstanding the bits of onion, carrot and gravy adhering to them because they’d cooked on top of the stew) I always assumed this was also a Yorkshire custom, but maybe my father was just weird…

Not that I know of Robin, and our family were Yorkshire through and through.

I don’t serve Yorkshire puddings with anything. I can’t abide them. I don’t get it, lumps of oily batter! 😳 So no one else gets them! TBF I don’t particularly like roast beef so I rarely cook it, only at Christmas for my poultry/egg allergic Son in law. Much prefer lamb or pork.
I agree, they are vile! I'm not a fan of beef either, I don't like the smell when it's cooking.
I'd much rather have chicken, pork or lamb.

we have been so busy today I had a read through posts earlier but forgot to post, this mornings BS was 5.1 so we have finished painting the whole house I didn't do much but as I had no intentions in going up a ladder couldn't anyway to be honest left the hard work to my hubby and daughter, to be honest her boyfriend didn't much painting just acted as a tea boy, anyway its done now, I planted out some dwarf peas and watered the garden another busy day tomorrow still need to plant the stuff I got on Saturday.

6.1

Plans for today include gym, therapy, a preview of the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy and theatre. There will also be accompaniment by a friend and coffee and cake.

Morning and a 7.2 and flatfish overnight.
Went out for Father’s Day and had nice lunch out even if we had to wait a while to be served.
Then a couple of short walks and just a relaxing day in garden.
Off to Shrewsbury today and back early to get ready for trip away and take dogs for their “ holiday”.
Have a good week as looking schorchio.

Good morning, managed a HS today!
No low alarms in the night, after a piece of lemon tart yesterday evening. Admittedly it wasn't a huge piece, but I'd normally have expected a nasty spike. I only reached 8 ish before coasting back down overnight.
Maybe I'm cured?

Anyway, have dropped Abasaglar down another two units given that we are expecting a heatwave this week.

Off to pick up my new glasses later on. Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

Morning all,

5.5 for me.

Off to see,The Salt Path, we read it at book group and it caused no end of discussion about the recklessness (or not) of the venture. But first, it is time to do some pedalling. Sigh.

Wishing you all a lovely Monday

04:06 BS 10.8 Ah well! Had a very easy rest of the day yesterday & fell asleep at SOME point, no idea when, & had a good long sleep with just a couple of loo trips! No lows so, that was a relief! I’ll go with that one with a drop of sweat over 1 eye for a Phew! emoji!

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

A 2 hour lie in bed & BS was still 10.8, because I was horizontal, & cooking my mushroom omelette breakfast raised it to BS 13.3. Smell almost gone from kitchen as the fan was on all day & overnight, could hear it like an airplane through the open bathroom window during loo trips, & turned it off temporarily while I ate. I dithered over the dose but, STILL stuck in 48NR as it was all protein apart from the iced latte: have rather grown to like the so called iced coffees, from Starbucks from the supermarkets or any other brand you like, that are cold & you drink them cold; found it strange & a bit bitter aftertaste at first but, like them now as a quick alternative especially, in the summer! Will see how that goes & learn about the dose from there?

I LOVE The Spitfire the most but, really love all the WW2 “Battle of Britain” planes & it has an added emotional significance to me now! The last happy memory of my late sister, number 5 in the ranking of our 9 siblings or sister number 3 (I’m known as sister number 4 or ranked at number 7 of 9 siblings & it makes me laugh as there’s a famous Star Trek character called “7 of 9” & famously the late Michael Jackson was also number 7 of 9 siblings!“, staying with me over Easter 2017 before she passed away from Cancer in June 2018. I prefer that Easter 2017 memory over seeing her at the MacMillen Hospice in May 2018, the last time I saw her, that upset me so much I just held her hand & couldn’t say anything! There was an Airshow that Easter Weekend at Portrush & my sister liked the newer planes & couldn’t understand why everybody loved the older “Battle of Britain” planes more, with the loudest cheers for The Spitfire! So, I explained about WW2 & paraphrased my own”The few against so many” Winston Churchill speech & getting very emotional & teary eyed & said how heroic it was; the few British pilots against the much more numerous German pilots & planes! Only numbers 7-9 of our siblings were educated from Nursery School onwards here after our family immigrated from HK & my next up brother number 4, or ranked number 6 of 9 siblings, went to high school here after primary school in HK. I posted before about how shocked we were when we first saw “ Schindler’s List” on DVD as a family & his newly married wife then, my 4th SIL, didn’t know about WW2 & The Nazis as it wasn’t taught at school in HK. She thought the scenes were too brutally shocking in the film & we were speechless before we tried to explain it was only a watered down version of the REAL Holocaust! Indeed in China it isn’t referred to as a World War & is taught in schools as The War of Resistance Against Japan or just referred to as The War of Resistance! So, many Chinese people in China don’t know about WW2 or The Nazis!

Morning all. 8.8 and woken by the magpies which seem to have moved into our garden. I used to hear birds twittering in the mornings, now its just the horrible rattling noise. Any ideas to scare them and the pigeons away?

This morning i'm off round to mums but thats all for today. We get the sun in our garden most of the day but when it goes off the top of the garden i might try and do some weeding, i'll see how hot it is.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, 7.3 here. I may have had too many of OH's choccy biccys yesterday. Daughter came over with a Father’s day present for her dad yesterday, including the biccys, son is on his way back from Le Mans today, and is planning to get him some duty free on the boat. If it’s whisky, OH can have that all to himself!

Good morning 5.3 today

Congrats on todays HS @Lisa65
I’m definitely looking forwards to the warm weather this week thats forecast, this week looks like it’s shorts weather, need to buy some smaller ones (for my skinny legs) 😉

Happy Monday everyone 😎

A close, but no cigar, 5.3 on this glorious morning. I’m finally getting used to the Fiasp after two weeks. I am enjoying being able to have my breakfast almost as soon as I get up. Today was 15 minutes, as opposed to the hour or even hour and a half on the NR. It’s great at eliminating huge spikes too, unless I’ve been naughty and had an illicit snack without bolusing! I’m very happy with it, got an appointment with DSN on the 30th to discuss how I’ve got on. TIR for the last 14 days is 90%. Happy with that. 1% hypos, that’ll have been the first few days when I didn’t realise how quick it acted! The other 9% is illicit snacks! 😉

We’re going dishwasher shopping this morning, ASAP! Our ancient NEFF, we’re thinking we’ve had it at least 20 years maybe 25 years, has finally given up the ghost, after being virtually rebuilt by Mr Eggy over the last few years. New pumps, new switches for something or other, leaks fixed umpteen times. I’ve had to put up with it being pulled out into the middle of the kitchen quite a few times in the last five years or so, sometimes for weeks! I would say “ let’s just buy another one”. But no, stubborn old fool insisted he would fix it, once an engineer always an engineer, this time I have put my foot down. TBF, it’s been rubbish for the last couple of weeks and we did say we’re going to need a new one soon and he agreed, so when we realised on coming to bed last night at 11pm and it was still running ( should have been finished for hours), pump gone, but the dishes hadn’t been washed, the decision was quite easy. Although there was an ever so slight hesitation on his side, I could see his mind whirring!

After the dishwasher shopping, and after lunch, I’m off to youngest daughter’s. To do her ironing! They are going on a two week cruise on Saturday and she’s working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Moo Music today for the girls, and swimming and hair cut and coloured on Thursday. Finishes work at 5pm on Friday and then the hordes, all 15 of us, are going to our local Indian restaurant to celebrate Mr Eggy’s 65th birthday, two days early. She’s in a panic as she’s so much to do. I said I would iron the girls’ clothes and get them packed. I will also write her a list and ask her to prioritise the tasks. Because they’ve just moved she’s used all her leave up, bad timing, and has prioritised sorting the house out and the holiday has just crept up on them. They are going with her in laws, who very generously have paid half. Lucky people. And lucky us we will have two whole weeks without childcare and helping with swimmimg days! Woo hoo! What terrible people we are! o_O

Congratulations @Lisa65 on your HS.
@Robin our girls made up a hamper for their dad, wine, cheese, crackers, chutneys etc, and chocolates. Guess who cracked open the chocolates? 😉

Have a Happy Monday folks.

Morning all. 🙂 9.8 here - I’ll keep an eye on things overnight and tweak if the the 4am rise persists. Nice to be in Manual mode. Automated mode went out with a flourish - a lovely double-downward-arrow and lots of alarms while we were sitting, relaxing, enjoying the sea view outside a local café yesterday morning. I won’t miss its shenanigans!

Hubby’ll be in full DIY mode today in preparation for painting the outside of the house. I won’t be helping either @Pam123 (I get the wobbles up a ladder). He’s got a mate / local handyman coming to help him. Fingers crossed it doesn’t rain - our forecast doesn’t seem to be wall-to-wall sunshine all week, more like dry with a sea fret to block out the sun. Dry’s good!

Funnily enough, Mr E up a ladder today too, after we’ve bought a dishwasher, he started fixing the sill on one of our ancient wooden sash upstairs windows on Friday. Of course it rained all weekend. I can’t watch I get the wobbles too and can just about manage a two step kitchen step ladder without getting dizzy!

Congrats on the HS @Lisa65

My pump alarm went off just before my alarm this morning, overnight it’s set lower at 4.4, but the pump read 4.2 when I cleared the alarm screen.

I decided a glug of Lucozade and a 10 min alarm snooze was required for a Medical Emergency. Though I suspect the 4.2 may have been compression-induced. Can’t be too careful though eh?

Happy Monday all!
