Group 7-day waking average?

I thought that a Yorkshire Pudding was originally a starter.

Yes I thought the initial idea was you ate a big (tasty but cheap) thing first to fill you up, so that you’d not feel the need to eat so much of the main (expensive/meat) part of the meal?

Well done @Lisa65 on your HS. My reading was 5.7 (a Heinz Special) 🙂

5.5 on another bright and sunny Berkshire morning and the forecast says we're in for a week of dry, sunny and hot weather with temperatures hitting the mid-80s. It's already mid-70s after a sticky night. Shorts and a T-shirt today, I think.

My wife and her sister have arrived safely at their cousin's place just outside Harrisburg, PA. They'd booked Business Class rail tickets (Business Class on a train?) as it's a 7-hour journey from Boston, via Philadelphia. Comfy seats and loads of leg room she said. I expect we'll link up via WhatsApp later. Our eldest and his girlfriend are flying back from Rhodes today but they have a late flight so he's staying at her place in London tonight and getting an early train in the morning as he's back at work tomorrow.

Brilliant final in the World Cup of Darts last night, with Northern Ireland winning 10-9, but gutted that Wales lost out. More pre-Wimbledon tennis to watch this week. The grass court season is my favourite part of the tennis calendar.

Breakfast this morning will include fresh raspberries from the garden, and it looks like we'll get a bumper crop of blackberries this year too. We've never been able to manage to grow strawberries, though.

Congrats on todays HS @Lisa65

Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Morning all, 6.3 for me for the third day in a row.
Could do with it being a little lower really but HCL will kick in soon I'm sure.
My Guardian sensor was being ridiculous once again, taking around 12 hours to 'update' after changing it. I will be requesting a new receiver today.

I did not sleep amazingly well and for some reason both my shoulders are in agony. Not quite sure how this pain relates to pregnancy but I've only had it since becoming pregnant. I have carpal tunnel too so my arms are a bit of a write-off today!

On a happier note husband and I watched the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice last night, it's one of my favourite films and I'd not seen it for ages. We had forgotten how good it is. Husband made tuna cheese toasted sandwiches and it was just a really lovely night in.

Take care all.

Them as eats most puddin gets most meat. The theory being that would encourage everyone to fill up on pudding and not want much meat.

Morning all. A happy 4.7 for me on this warm sunny morning. Off for a bike ride shortly, I need
to get my legs doing some work as it's easier to pedal than walk these days.

Have a good day folks, and don't get too sunburnt.

Ah! 11:00 BS 5.0 RIGHT at the tail end of active NR! So, despite the BS 13’s & latte 48NR is too much, for safety, for an omelette & I have an idea of adjustments in future! Thank goodness I didn’t add anymore NR earlier & I’ll have a closer eye on BS now & if it goes lower, have tea & biscuits? A Phew! emoji!

Good morning folks. It's going to be a scorcher today. 7.7 for me. Off to the tip shortly. Several bags of garden waste and an old curved box of scrap metal to shift.

Congratulations on your HS @Lisa65

Bumper forage of strawberries this morning. The fruit cage is starting to look lush. Blueberries and tayberries are starting to ripen. I will post a photo in due course. Meanwhile a shot of the takeaway tub full of strawbs 20250616_102416.jpg

I'm envious. We get lots of raspberries and blackberries from our garden but we've never managed to grow strawberries. Not tried blueberries - will have to do some research.

6.4 here on, what seems a glorious day - pity about the breeze though.

Had a bit of uppy downy night but stable this afternoon, by BGs spiked at a 10 this morning 2 hours after brekky. Not complaining at that. Dropping fast now after my walk, so going to have some lunch shortly.

I've been listening to a podcast or two today.

Congratulations @Lisa65 on today's HS!

Funnily enough, Mr E up a ladder today too, after we’ve bought a dishwasher, he started fixing the sill on one of our ancient wooden sash upstairs windows on Friday. Of course it rained all weekend. I can’t watch I get the wobbles too and can just about manage a two step kitchen step ladder without getting dizzy!
I shall be going out until it's done - I can't watch either!

I grow all our strawberries in big window boxes although they are on the ground. I put them in our polytunnel over winter so they don't get waterlogged and most of them survive. I always pot up plenty of runners as insurance and to replace old plants that are no longer productive.
