Group 7-day waking average?

00:49 BS 7.2 & I woke in pain again after a few hours of sleep. It took me until after 21:00, my last scan before I fell asleep! I was quite wired yesterday for some reason? I thought the ice effect had gone but, it hasn’t & it was just the initial inadvertent movement maybe from rolling on the side that set off the pain that woke me but, after that subsided my wrist went back to that pain free numbness. I did my stretches & it hurt a bit while doing them but, the numbness returned quite quickly afterwards. I think have a couple hours left before the 12 hours is up, guessing, & will know when the ice effect is gone & I’ll ice it again.

Last few hours of the sensor & it’ll be done by about 6am. I’ll back up the phone, wipe it, stick it in the box & post it off: I requested the battery change 10 days ago as I saw the battery life reach 80% as it had actually been showing signs of instability at 81% for about a fortnight & forgot about the sensor; the box came by post & has been sitting for a week as I decided to wait until the sensor finishes given the timing of physio & the unpredictably to BS that causes!

I’m not sure if there is one more season left but, I’ll miss it when it’s gone; nothing else like it on TV & I’ve loved that mix of puzzling murder cases & the Caribbean sunshine & lifestyle in the drab winter! 😛<3😎:D There’s not that many TV programmes that have last so many years! :star::hello:
 
04:51 BS 11.1 just after peaking for another NR free meal as my BS is still falling after I woke: the opposite of my usual DP rise; higher basal is still in my system. Last hour of my sensor & I’m happy enough with my meal hill that’s now on the way down!

My wrist is still surprisingly happy ish & it’s probably because there’s less aggro on it so, less swelling & longer periods between icing it? The brace is VERY bulky & cumbersome but, I suppose that’s the idea & I can certainly see why you don’t wear it in bed when sleeping as it can cut off the circulation & rolling on it would hurt ME if not my wrist! There are 4 metal splints in it: OUCH!; if my stomach landed on THAT in the night?
 
Well I am back. No idea what bg is although it was 9 at 2pm yesterday. The last 3months have been a little hard.sold house completing on 17 Feb. Purchase delayed by idiots so did not get possesssion of new place until 24March. Everything stored in carefully packed boxes but removal men stuffed them into storage without reading labels so no test kit and no time. Went to leominsterand packed house for ild chum who is downsizing - a great chum but no housekeeper so everything had to be cleaned before packing.then to S Oxfordshire to care for daughter over cancer operation. Then to friends in Wales where i got bad chest infectio which lasted6 weeks. Visited old neighbours and getting off their loo exploded tendon in right knee. No orthopod available for 6 months - should have got cheque book out and gone private. Gp sais cruciates which I had thought but physio said meniscus. Anyway stuck on 2 walking sticks for 6 weeks when I managed last week to have bad fall . The results broken ankle rt leg- more damage rt knee- broken bone left knee. That got me into A and E where after 36 hours on trolley eating cocodamol suddenly MRI scanner availableand a dishy consultant who is operating Monday or Tuesday...have completely lost appetite so bg should be reasonable I hope. Old neighbour coming to rescue today as nhs has run out of pillows- desperately cold last night so she is also buying a duvet and more pyjams and knickers! Hopeshe brings some fruit as yesterday's Nhs apple tasted like a turnip. Meanwhile daughter doing well half way through radiotherapy- after that it is immunity boosting and prayer. Pony and dog well and beibg cared for by neighbours while I am in hospital. Chest has cleared at last so maybe April will be better.hopefully will get time to catch up on readibg posts over weekend and that neighbour can drop into Boots and get new bg tester...its in the double garage somewhere...Time to bell my nice Polish nurse to arrange a pee appointment. It is abit of a bugger when you cant stand up on either !eg but fortunately he is broad minded strong and handsome so it could br worse.
 
Morning and great to hear back from you Tina and Lanny and but so sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations so hope your recovery’s are good and speedy.
A 6 for me and a finger prick to boot as it was last day of my sensor and went faulty yesterday and as I have my MRI today just won’t replace it until this evening.
Does feel strange without the Libre but seems to have settled down now but did not have normal Friday Pizza but something more predictable but will have Chinese tonight when I can do readings more easily.
Wife taking me to hospital as tine clashes with visiting time and parking always more difficult so she will drop me off and then go off shopping and pick me up after 45 minutes or so.
Had a nice day on Wirral yesterday but glad it is w/ end and all enjoy even if we have an hour less in bed.
 
Morning all. 6.8 for me on waking (Contour meter - new G7 sensor read 7.9 so I entered a calibration). Weather is set to improve over the weekend so fingers crossed that today will be nicer than yesterday.

We’re going to a nice restaurant for lunch today, to celebrate next week’s wedding anniversary. We’re celebrating early cos we’ve got a 20% discount voucher that expires before the big day LOL.

Yesterday’s tea party / retirement send-off at work was nice - but sad, too, cos both the retirees are just lovely people. More retirements coming in June, so the workload’ll increase for everyone as the job titles are being retired too - massive cuts across the board...uh oh!
 
Morning all, 4.3 here.
We have a watertight house again. We didn’t know we didn’t have a watertight house until the builders doing our new guttering climbed up and saw some tiles missing off the corner where next doors leylandii overhangs. Coincidentally next doors tree surgeon arrived this week to cut them back, (they’ve been promising for ages). The overhanging branches had probably been protecting us from water ingress, because we hadn’t noticed any damp patches on the ceiling. So all sorted now.

Welcome back @Lanny, and I hope your wrist improves.
 
Good morning all. 6.3 today after a nice uneventful meal out, phew! No funny turns, no dashing to loo ( TMI?) and no spikes. I had the confit duck on puy lentils, a duck potato cake, which was delicious, redcurrant and rosemary sauce with the cutest little bundle of asparagus wrapped in Parma ham you’ve ever seen. Whilst most of the others tucked into three courses I piously sat there with my halo.:D

@TinaD so glad to see you back, sorry for your tales of woes. Hope op goes well, keep in touch, we do worry you know.

No plans today. The end!

Met friends for coffee yesterday (sitting in the sun which was lovely) and generally ambled about town which was also lovely.

A couple of us went to the ballet last night (ROH - Balanchine: Three Signature Works) which was an utter joy. Sometimes it’s truly a privilege to sit in the audience and witness something sensational and that happened last night.

The program was chosen as the closing piece of the Van Cleef & Arpel Dance Reflections Festival and also marked the retirement of someone who worked with Balanchine before spending 7 decades at Covent Garden, first as a ballerina and then 60 years as a choreographer/teacher.

The only slight downside to the evening was that I had one of my dizzy episodes, very very mild this time, but it’s the third one this week. I’m convinced it’s blood pressure related rather than the postural thing about crystals in the inner ear, so I’m unilaterally deciding to cut my ramipril dosage. I’ll check half life etc but I’m debating whether to go to alternate days or just stop altogether.

I’m going away on Wednesday so I’m not going to do anything like consulting the doctor as that’ll wait until I’m back.

Anyway, back to the ballet…

First piece was Serenade which was the first ballet he created when he arrived in America. Music was Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings and it was like watching an ethereally beautiful dream ballet segment from a classic movie musical. Light, dreamy, romantic. Zero story or narrative that either of us could see but utterly gorgeous nevertheless.

Prodigal Son followed that. Balanchine’s last creation for Diaghilev and Ballet Russes. Premiered in 1929 three months after Diaghilev died I think. It’s set to music commissioned from Prokofiev and is a contemporary, avant garde piece based on the biblical tale. OMG it was f*ckin’ amazing!!! To think that it’s basically 100 years old and still pushing boundaries is testament to how revolutionary B was as a choreographer.

Final piece (and following on from Prodigal Son, one I feared would be an anticlimax) was Symphony in C. Bizet was commissioned to write the score. He said yes and then just rummaged through his desk drawer, pulled out an old unpublished unperformed opera score and said “Here you go!” apparently.
Huge corp de ballet for this one. I counted 70 dancers on stage at one point. Stunning music, gorgeous, physical, emotional choreography that blew everything before clean out of the water.

Curtain call, as it marked a retirement, included the traditional throwing of flowers on to the stage from the boxes and slips and that’s also a joy to witness.

Coming on the back of some very, erm.. interesting pieces I’ve seen recently it was wonderful seeing a program that was so accomplished and that lifted the soul.

I’m seeing Kyoto this afternoon and might see if I can bag a ticket to see the Balanchine again.

5.6 on a lovely, sunny Berkshire morning and more of the same says the forecast. Saturday's a washday so hopefully I can get it all dry on the line again. Our tumble drier deserves a break.

Wife's off to Bedford to visit family but will be back later for Mothers Day tomorrow. Our eldest will be golfing this afternoon but not sure what his brother's plans are. For my part there's still plenty to do in the garden, including giving our summer house a fresh coat of paint, although to be honest it's more shed than summer house these days.

Have a good Saturday. Clocks go forward this weekend - hooray. I much prefer the lighter evenings.
 
Morning all. 6.1 and plans for today are to pick up my brother and see mum in hospital then home to cut the grass. Hubby wants to do it when he gets home from work but he's not been well most of the week, so i'm getting it done before he comes home. He can sit and have a rest then.

Good morning all - and what a beautiful morning it is. Sunny and not a trace of wind. Yesterday was sunny, but the wind was bitter... I think I will see if my friend fancies a walk on the coast path.

10.4 first thing. Not happy with that, but not a lot I can do other than correct. We ate in the local pub last night as we had a voucher for 20% off and another for a bottle of wine if you ordered 2 glasses. They have changed their style of menu and it consists of fish and chips and 3 kinds of pie, rather than the wonderfully eclectic menu they used to offer. I had beef shin and gravy pie with mash. It saved me cooking and I was absolutely exhausted so went straight to bed when I got home at 9:15 right on top of the rather heavy meal.

Today I'm cooking hungarian goulash and an orange chocolate brioche pudding for five... as we have friends coming round for a games night tomorrow and that's supper. We'll have something I cooked earlier out of the freezer for tonight.

I'm still struggling with the unresolved techie problem, which involves setting up the phone that the DSN has provided me with to install Cam APS onto for my new pump. Installation has gone pear-shaped twice now and ringing the tech help people at Ypsopump hasn't solved the problem - caused apparently by my already having an ancient Samsung account (for a microwave and/or a TV). I have shelved the problem until Monday. I have until 1 May to sort it.

Well it's super to hear from @TinaD again... I've been wondering how you were getting on with your move Tina... but certainly would not wish to hear the news of all your injuries. Poor you, I sincerely hope your surgery goes well and you recover swiftly - specially as you have to move into your new home and were hoping to do building work. Keep posting!

Also lovely to hear from @Lanny too. Hope your wrist recovers quickly.

3.6 on waking this morning but rose to 4.9 once up and about. It had better behave today as it’s my son’s wedding today! Looking forward to the event although no idea what to expect as they have organised it all themselves within just 3 months. All I know is that it will be a bit informal but I’m sure it will be a great day.

@TinaD - sorry to read of your trials and tribulations but glad you’re back on this thread!

@Lanny - hope your wrist recovers quickly for you!
