Group 7-day waking average?

Morning

5.0 for me today, which has been nice to wake up to following a few quite rubbish days with my Diabetes. Last night, as I watched my BG climb to 14 on the second failed cannula attempt, I really could empathise with those who suffer from Diabetes burnout... if I wasn't growing a human I would have been very tempted to ignore the 14 and go to sleep.

But today is better, which is great!
It's the last day of term for me, and this afternoon I get to finish an hour and a half early and take my daughter around the Easter trail and attend the Easter tea. It's always a lovely event and the catering team serve the best scones in the world, so I am very much looking forward to it (and will be doing a scone pre-bolus before I leave my desk!)

Morning all it was a 5.0.yesterday for me but got distracted by having to change a wheel on the car due to a nail in the tyre. Today was a 'Sensor Error ' with a few gaps and blips overnight.

Got asked if we wanted to do any support slots for PIL on their forthcoming tour but sadly it doesn't look like we can do many, if any of them . Nice to be asked though.

Better keep an eye on the weather as the washing on the line is just about done.

Have a nice day everyone.
Was a 6.5 for me this morning.Grey day up here . Happy anniversary to @;Bobblehat .Been meaning to ask for a long time what group are you in @ Khskel
Skeletal Family. We've been going on and off for many years.

Morning all and 6.9 for me.

Had fun yesterday putting the repaired tyre back on the car. The wretched space saver tyre would not come off easily even with all the studs removed.

Off to the vampires for the haematologist. Let's see how the bone marrow is behaving.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning

Hoping there is room for me with @MeeTooTeeTo and @Robin on the 5.2 step today. Congratulations to my fellow HS. Eye screening today, quite cloudy here at the moment so hoping it stays that way, will take my sunglasses with me just in case as I will be walking there and back again.

Got more clearing done at FIL’s house yesterday, but rant now coming up so please feel free to scroll past. The Gas safe engineer turned up and and unfortunately the gas leak wasn’t coming from the hob as we had hoped but a pipe in a concrete floor, he was amazed that the house had not blown up given the size of the leak, we can only assume it had not long happened as although the house smelt terribly of gas on eviction day, if it had been leaking a long time we don’t think the house would have still been there, anyway got to wait to get a quote to get a new pipe fitting, gas engineer suggested running it differently as only a short distance from the meter in the a garage to the kitchen, but more money for us to pay out we haven’t got, and now another few weeks before we can put the house up for sale, we will of course get our money back from the solicitor but it is finding it in the first place, hubby has also requested that the full cost is taken from the family members share of the estate as it happened while she was living there, but of course once again it is hubby who has the headache of dealing with it. Just totally fed up, for over 4 years she denied hubby access to a house he owned 1/2 of with his father, father’s half forms the estate with is to be split equally between hubby and his sister, now after al this time and expensive legal proceedings the house was in a poor condition due to her hoarding, most of the time spent clearing has been her rubbish, and I mean rubbish, over 2 70ltr black sacks of used tissues left on the floor of one room alone. The disgusting state of the kitchen and bathroom, now the delaying of being able to sell the property just when we had got it empty. I feel like it will never be over and it has spoilt any happy memories hubby had of growing up there.

Sorry for the rant, but felt so dejected yesterday.
Oh my god Lorraine. That’s unbelievable. I thought MiLs hoarding was bad. I have given you a star for your HS and a hug on here for all you’re going through. You’ll get through it and it’ll be such a weight off your shoulders when you do. Xx

Thanks to @freesia for posting that picture it helps, I <3 It

someone elsewhere shared with me recently
I was going to see if I could get that other one printed onto a graphic

I think what you shared deserves wall space - somewhere in our home
actually we have been in here for 2 years
the walls are still actually magnolia so some artwork is well overdue

5.8 for me this morning, which dawned grey and wet (it rained for a while either side of breakfast) but has now brightened up and looking decidedly more Spring-like.

Been to my eye appointment this morning with Health Harmonie to check on the eye freckle picked up during last year's diabetic eye screening. It hasn't changed so I've been discharged, which is good news. One less thing to worry about.

Congratulations to @MeeTooTeeTo , @Robin & @Grannylorraine on this morning's HSs

@goodybags - you really are a Grand Master of Alliteration

Friday, so Big Shop when I can drive again (drops in eyes - see above). Going to catch the bus into town shortly as otherwise it'll be leftovers at the fish counter in Waitrose and I might not get my usual Garlic & Rosemary salmon steak.

Have a good day, all.

Morning all. It was a 4.4 for me earlier today.

Have a good day folks and stay well.

Good morning everyone! 5'8 today.

My friend must have thought the same as me about the weather calling for coffee instead of cocktails, because he suggested we met at Costa. I injected 3u instead of my usual 4 (that's my go to dose for coffee and cake when I don't know the carb content, although as I type, I realise Costa does have that information in their website!). Then I thought I'll walk a bit longer before going home, to help avoid a spike. In this case would have been better to go straight to my sofa, as I needed a gummy to stop a quick drop, then stayed around 10 for a few hours until my dinner bolus. Still, not a dramatic result.

Today I served coffee to a customer that I remember talking about diabetes with. I spotted his Novopen in the table, same colour as mine! I wondered if he remembered our conversation from his previous visit. Then I saw him in the buffet and he asked if I have a pump and said he'd like to try a closed loop, as he has a colleague around my age who apparently gets amazing straight lines with it. We shared a light hearted moan about how many hills our graphs have and how much work diabetes takes, then he said it's amazing how the technology has advanced in the last 30 years. I am honestly grateful I was diagnosed in this day and age. Of course, it would be better to not have the condition at all, but you know, counting my blessings here...

@Martin.A I was thinking of you when I was Illiterating (is that a real word) on that post today

@ColinUK oh, I visited the Queer Britain museum when I was in London earlier this month. Small but interesting exhibition. Your eye makeup sounds fabulous. Wouldn't expect less 😉

I’m struggling today to keep my BS up & had two giant marshmallows already today with extra cups of tea & biscuits too on very conservative NR doses! I knew physio would make a difference; just NOT so much so fast! Maybe it’s the double whammy of the annual spring/summer reduction as well? Will go down to -8 basal from 68 to 60 tresiba at 3pm & try no NR at all for meals today as no NR last night produced a normal meal hill that went back down on it’s own! I’m AWFULLY thirsty now after all that sugar from the marshmallow just now! 😱

8.6 here after an early night. We woke to cloud and gloom, but the day has very much improved with age - like a good bottle of red.

Had the Sparky round earlier to do multiple tests on the power. Everything checked out ok so providing a certificate shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Congratulations @Robin , @MeeTooTeeTo & @Grannylorraine on the HSs!

Had a wee dose sometime after 12:30 ish & 3pm alarm woke me with a BANG! Literally as my little waking movement jolted my wrist & the pain shot through me so, the ice effect is gone; it lasted about 12 hours, though! I woke to find my wrist brace outside my front door & tried it on: looks huge on my tiny hand but, it was the smallest size & it does the job of keeping my thumb immobilised; going to bed properly now so, can’t wear it now! Iced my wrist & it felt much better than 12 hours ago in that it didn’t set off my nerve endings so much. Then, stuck in 60 tresiba & going back to bed to sleep properly now. BS is in the 10’s after I ate one last time today shortly after the marshmallow earlier with no NR & hopefully, even without libre tomorrow it’ll be a bit easier. Never got around to doing any stretches today & will do them tomorrow now that the wrist splint is here!

Good afternoon. It's been a busy morning so only sat down after lunch about an hour or so ago. 7.3 for me this morning.

Congratulations on the HS @Robin @MeeTooTeeTo and @Grannylorraine

Sorry posted thread accidentally before finishing. Sorry to hear about the issues with house gas leak @Grannylorraine and hope you get it sorted and the house sold. It will be a weight off your mind.
Enjoy your meal out @eggyg I often just have a starter instead of a main course.
Went to the recycling centre at 9am. 8 more trugs of brambles plus a box of scrap metal from the old stock fencing.( Probably be doing the same on Sunday.) Then Tai Chi class, which was really good today. New forms to learn. Visited greengrocers to stock up on veg again, then off to visit a friend for coffee. Ended up buying a really nice oak monk's bench from her. Picked up prescriptions from our surgery's pharmacy and finally got home to enjoy a nice bowl of chicken and vegetable soup.
Oh the busy life of a retired old lady. LOL
Everyone enjoy the rest of your Friday and look forward to the weekend.

Typical! I couldn’t sleep now so, while the ice effect is fresh, I did my stretches & it did feel a bit strained afterwards so, gave it another mini icing of about 10 minutes until the ice effect was fully restored. Now sitting back in bed still not wearing the brace yet as, hopefully, tiredness will send me to sleep at some point? BS wobbled a bit up to 12’s after the stretches but, now back down in the 10’s again at 10.1 just now. Just watching some cdrama in bed & it could doze me off a la the TV brain zombie effect as I’m tired anyway?

00:49 BS 7.2 & I woke in pain again after a few hours of sleep. It took me until after 21:00, my last scan before I fell asleep! I was quite wired yesterday for some reason? I thought the ice effect had gone but, it hasn’t & it was just the initial inadvertent movement maybe from rolling on the side that set off the pain that woke me but, after that subsided my wrist went back to that pain free numbness. I did my stretches & it hurt a bit while doing them but, the numbness returned quite quickly afterwards. I think have a couple hours left before the 12 hours is up, guessing, & will know when the ice effect is gone & I’ll ice it again.

Last few hours of the sensor & it’ll be done by about 6am. I’ll back up the phone, wipe it, stick it in the box & post it off: I requested the battery change 10 days ago as I saw the battery life reach 80% as it had actually been showing signs of instability at 81% for about a fortnight & forgot about the sensor; the box came by post & has been sitting for a week as I decided to wait until the sensor finishes given the timing of physio & the unpredictably to BS that causes!

Another very early, silly o’ clock Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

Will watch the last episode of this series of Death In Paradise on iPlayer: really enjoyed this last, I think season 14, & see how it ends? I’m not sure if there is one more season left but, I’ll miss it when it’s gone; nothing else like it on TV & I’ve loved that mix of puzzling murder cases & the Caribbean sunshine & lifestyle in the drab winter! 😛<3😎:D There’s not that many TV programmes that have last so many years! :star::hello:
