ended up buying both 30 & 32 “ waist as I think I’m somewhere in between (very different to 38” w was wearing a year ago) and what I was wearing back when I was 19 stone (see pic below that was me 10 yrs ago)

Morning all. 6.1 and plans for today are to pick up my brother and see mum in hospital then home to cut the grass. Hubby wants to do it when he gets home from work but he's not been well most of the week, so i'm getting it done before he comes home. He can sit and have a rest then.

@Lanny nice to hear from you again. I hope your wrist is better soon.

@TinaD good to hear from you again too. Sorry you've had a troubling few months i hope the op goes well.

@Bloden enjoy your meal and happy early anniversary.

@ColinUK re CCC, sounds fantastic.

Have a good day everyone.
Tried to book a ticket for tonight but it’s totally sold out.

Might go again Monday.

Good morning all - and what a beautiful morning it is. Sunny and not a trace of wind. Yesterday was sunny, but the wind was bitter... I think I will see if my friend fancies a walk on the coast path.

10.4 first thing. Not happy with that, but not a lot I can do other than correct. We ate in the local pub last night as we had a voucher for 20% off and another for a bottle of wine if you ordered 2 glasses. They have changed their style of menu and it consists of fish and chips and 3 kinds of pie, rather than the wonderfully eclectic menu they used to offer. I had beef shin and gravy pie with mash. It saved me cooking and I was absolutely exhausted so went straight to bed when I got home at 9:15 right on top of the rather heavy meal.

Today I'm cooking hungarian goulash and an orange chocolate brioche pudding for five... as we have friends coming round for a games night tomorrow and that's supper. We'll have something I cooked earlier out of the freezer for tonight.

I'm still struggling with the unresolved techie problem, which involves setting up the phone that the DSN has provided me with to install Cam APS onto for my new pump. Installation has gone pear-shaped twice now and ringing the tech help people at Ypsopump hasn't solved the problem - caused apparently by my already having an ancient Samsung account (for a microwave and/or a TV). I have shelved the problem until Monday. I have until 1 May to sort it.

Well it's super to hear from @TinaD again... I've been wondering how you were getting on with your move Tina... but certainly would not wish to hear the news of all your injuries. Poor you, I sincerely hope your surgery goes well and you recover swiftly - specially as you have to move into your new home and were hoping to do building work. Keep posting!

Also lovely to hear from @Lanny too. Hope your wrist recovers quickly.

@eggyg's restaurant meal sounded right up my street!

@ColinUK you quite transported me with the descriptions of the Balachine work.

Have a good day all!
Listening to the music from it now. And trying to decide if I can justify the one available stalls ticket for Monday night…

@Eternal422 congratulations to your son and his partner on their wedding day. I think
Sorry, pressed post before i'd finished i think! It was meant to say i think that informal for a wedding is lovely. Enjoy!

Well I am back. No idea what bg is although it was 9 at 2pm yesterday. The last 3months have been a little hard.sold house completing on 17 Feb. Purchase delayed by idiots so did not get possesssion of new place until 24March. Everything stored in carefully packed boxes but removal men stuffed them into storage without reading labels so no test kit and no time. Went to leominsterand packed house for ild chum who is downsizing - a great chum but no housekeeper so everything had to be cleaned before packing.then to S Oxfordshire to care for daughter over cancer operation. Then to friends in Wales where i got bad chest infectio which lasted6 weeks. Visited old neighbours and getting off their loo exploded tendon in right knee. No orthopod available for 6 months - should have got cheque book out and gone private. Gp sais cruciates which I had thought but physio said meniscus. Anyway stuck on 2 walking sticks for 6 weeks when I managed last week to have bad fall . The results broken ankle rt leg- more damage rt knee- broken bone left knee. That got me into A and E where after 36 hours on trolley eating cocodamol suddenly MRI scanner availableand a dishy consultant who is operating Monday or Tuesday...have completely lost appetite so bg should be reasonable I hope. Old neighbour coming to rescue today as nhs has run out of pillows- desperately cold last night so she is also buying a duvet and more pyjams and knickers! Hopeshe brings some fruit as yesterday's Nhs apple tasted like a turnip. Meanwhile daughter doing well half way through radiotherapy- after that it is immunity boosting and prayer. Pony and dog well and beibg cared for by neighbours while I am in hospital. Chest has cleared at last so maybe April will be better.hopefully will get time to catch up on readibg posts over weekend and that neighbour can drop into Boots and get new bg tester...its in the double garage somewhere...Time to bell my nice Polish nurse to arrange a pee appointment. It is abit of a bugger when you cant stand up on either !eg but fortunately he is broad minded strong and handsome so it could br worse.
Good 5o see you back, sorry you have been through the mill. Hope you are on the road to recovery.

Good morning folks. Nice to see the sun out again. The washing machine has just finished the first load. A 6.6 for me today. Had a lie in till 8.45am as I got up twice during the night and again at ten to six to feed cat and sort out chickens.
Hubby made a lovely breakfast of poached eggs on muffins. Yummy!
Quiet day in the garden planned today.

@Lanny I hope that all that treatment helps your wrist recover
@TinaD hope the operation goes well and you get your mobility back soon
@Eternal422 Enjoy your son's wedding. Eat, drink and be merry.

Have a good weekend everyone.

A happy 5.1 for me on yet another sunny morning.

3.6 on waking this morning but rose to 4.9 once up and about. It had better behave today as it’s my son’s wedding today! Looking forward to the event although no idea what to expect as they have organised it all themselves within just 3 months. All I know is that it will be a bit informal but I’m sure it will be a great day.

@TinaD - sorry to read of your trials and tribulations but glad you’re back on this thread!

@Lanny - hope your wrist recovers quickly for you!

Take care everyone!
Have a fabulous day, I hope it all goes well. We organised our wedding in three months as we wanted to get married at Gretna Green and back then you couldn’t book it any earlier. But we organised our middle daughter’s wedding in 18 days! This was during Covid TBF and we only had 12 guests but this was all outfits for bride, groom, five bridesmaids and me! Plus new tie for Mr Eggy! :D

Morning all. 8.3...really?

@TinaD - so nice to see you posting again, but not nice to hear what’s happening with you. Good luck with your upcoming treatment. Sending (((hugs))). What a crazy few months! Wishing you a speedy recovery.

@Lanny - I hope your wrist is better ASAP. Lovely to have you back among us.

We’re going to a nice restaurant for lunch today, to celebrate next week’s wedding anniversary. We’re celebrating early cos we’ve got a 20% discount voucher that expires before the big day LOL.

Yesterday’s tea party / retirement send-off at work was nice - but sad, too, cos both the retirees are just lovely people. More retirements coming in June, so the workload’ll increase for everyone as the job titles are being retired too - massive cuts across the board...uh oh!
Happy anniversary for next week and enjoy your lunch. We tend to celebrate any old day close to the day. Except this year when it’s a special one, 45 years, got a full day planned.

I’ve gone for a lie down with a wet flannel just reading that! Tech! 😡

5.4 for me today - and a nice flat line has resumed after my adventure in carbohydrates on Thursday.

We have our shopping coming later, someone is coming to collect some Freecycled bits from extension and - as is typical - our son informed us (on Wednesday) his theatre group are performing tonight and would we come and see him. Fortunately, there were tickets left so that's tonight sorted.

@TinaD: Sorry to hear about all the health difficulties. Hope your dishy Polish chap continues to look after you well.

@Eternal422: Hope the wedding goes splendidly and everyone, especially the happy couple, have a wonderful day.

I was a little down with a 9.3, buts it's down somewhat from the spike after brekkas.

Our problematic gardener came earlier and finished off the front hedge, back and front - it's quite startling how much light we get in the front now. And thankfully that should be that until late spring/summer. The land won't require any more attention until next year at the earliest.
He even apologised to J which was a surprising move by him.

My OH went to the market this morning and has just landed back with nothing bought! Makes a nice change. No bits and bobs.

Welcome back to the thread @TinaD , sorry you move was fraught with problems. And good luck on the mobility front - Hope the operation goes well.

I hope your wrist @Lanny heals quickly.

I hope the wedding goes without a hitch @Eternal422 and everyone there, especially the happy couple, thoroughly enjoys the day.

didn't post yesterday as early morning start plus all the excitement of watching hubby do his driving experience
he loved it, he drove 5 super cars and had an extra 2 laps in the Astin Martin which went into limp mode on his first drive round, it turned out to be something to do with the brakes, so they gave him another 2 laps, he drove a BMW I8 which he said he now wants LOL no chance. he also drove a Lamborghini, GTX 2 others I can't remember what they were, but the last experience was a fastback lap with a professional driving. Tony daughters boyfriend also went with him, it was so funny, we watched them drive off then less than 2 minutes daughter said there back and dad looks terrified, they both walked towards the car Tony looked like he had been eletricuted and hubby said that was fast. it was just so funny they were both lost for words for a while. the meal out last night to end the day out turned out to be really nice I had the burgers which were very nice with salad and half a bun no spike so, Oh almost forgot I was 5.2 yesterday and 5.2 today

Congrats on your double HS
It sounds like hubby had a great time driving all those cars.

Well! It’s that in between basal dose change day today! Small breakfast with no NR left me on, what seemed like FT testing, stuck in the 11’s for a few hours, THIS is where I really miss the libre ALREADY, so, a reduced dose of NR for lunch & seemed a bit stuck a bit too high as well but, then started to come down & kept coming down well past active NR! ALMOST got caught out for dinner just now with 15:32 BS 4.0 so, had some coke first before tucking into my sushi, tesco delivery today, & NR after, another quite conservative dose of 38 which is very little for sushi & just now put in the 2nd lot of 60 tresiba. The basal is creeping up later & later but, tesco was delayed 30 minutes with a breakdown, it could have been later, & a bit longer wait for the sushi & I WAS going to stick it in together but, heading off hypo & eating first!

Hopefully, tomorrow will be better as higher basal continues to leave my system & I’ll see if I reduced my basal too much by the day after tomorrow?

Oh! Just watched, with my sushi, the 1st episode of the latest series 3 of Beyond Paradise: how nicely timed; DIP finished & BP starts! 😛

It’s really wet & windy today & both my arms are aching as I do with a bit of rheumatism & ice isn’t touching that as it’s a different kind of deeper ache really, from the nerve pain of my wrist injury, which I have in prolonged wet weather & it’s only been one day of rain so far but, maybe exacerbated by the injury?

I’ve already stopped my statins for about 10 days now as it causes aches in my limbs anyway & been making up the shortfall to reduce cholesterol by buying the very expensive Benecol range of light spread, yoghurt drink & yoghurts. I wonder what that’ll do to my blood tests next month ahead of my hospital review on 1st May IF they don’t change it AGAIN? I’ve never really liked taking statins because of the aches &, in a perfect world, rather not take them at all if I can manage it: haven’t been able to so far after trying couple of times; maybe it’s “Pie in the sky” but, we’ll see what the blood tests show as I’ll stay off them for a few weeks?

Hello everyone, it was a 6'9 this morning, too early to post.

What a day at work, and I am back for the evening shift soon! I didn't have breakfast at home so I could get a little extra sleep, then I "lost" a muffin on its way to the buffet 😉 Well, I certainly didn't get an indigestion for eating too quick. It took me over an hour of nibbling on it between drink orders! From 9 to 10:15 the queue of customers seemed endless and the orders never stopped coming. I ran out of teapots, milk jugs...We were all rushed off our feet. And the supervisor was suffering extra stress from various issues, although I tried not to absorb it.

After a nap (which was SO hard to open my eyes from) and a healthy meal, I am not feeling too bad. But I am concerned tomorrow is going to be a repeat and with even less time to sleep, with the hour change :(
