Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all. 6.8 but needed two corrections before bed as i was going high. The last couple of weeks i've had cold symptoms that have only lasted a day but yesterday they started again and i'm very snotty this morning. Probably why i was going high last night. Back to dosing myself up. I meeting a friend this afternoon for a quick coffee so hopefully the meds will work quickly.

@eggyg and @Docb ouch!!! Sounds painful.

It looks lovely out there this morning, blue sky and sunshine, but thick frost. Wrap up warm if you have to go out.
 
Low 4s for me this morning and a very straight line on my graph descending from 8.1 when I jabbed a 1.5 correction and went to sleep, to my waking reading without any red, so very happy with that. Slept really well.

Very sorry to hear that @eggyg and @Docb have both hit the deck with the icy conditions. I timed my fall better and went down in the mud in the field on New Years Eve. Soft squelshy landing and no injuries. Hope you both recover quickly with no serious damage done.

@ColinUK So pleased you and your parents had a great night out together.
@Gwynn Congrats your HS achievement.
 
I tested last week during the day and got a 14 which shocked me. I've decided to treat what I'm eating and testing more seriously. I don't usually test first thing. Not sure if I've done it correctly. Got up but didn't dress went downstairs made a cuppa got into bed warmed hands on mug and tested. Preamble is because it was 4.00 which is lowest I've had.
Yesterday I had a small fry up at a cafe 1 sausage 1 bacon poached egg mushroom tomato. Declined beans hash brown sourdough. As am taking a horrible statin thought an occasional fry up ok. Mushroom and cheese omlette for a late lunch.
Sauerkraut blueberries and small piece of cheese for supper. ( had intended to have yoghurt and berries but didnt)
 
Morning all, 7.5 here. Nothing much planned for today as I have another run of five shifts starting tomorrow. Woke up at 5 as usual, had a coffee and decided to go back to bed for a bit. I am another kilo down, 68 now. I was 72kg when I started the abasaglar and tightened right up on the carbs.
It's a beautiful sunny morning but very cold.

@eggyg and @Docb, sorry to hear about your tumbles!
 
4.6 on this Frosty Friday. Not to be deterred we are off to Barry Island today, so expect some pictures of a frozen seaside tomorrow :rofl:. Hopefully we’ll both stay upright and not do an @eggyg or @Docb (hope you folks are not too bruised today).

@eggyg - lovely pictures! Many years ago I stayed in Maryport whilst spending a couple of days at a customer’s site in Silloth (an electronics firm I seem to remember).

5.6 for me, first waking test for a while.
This was after a pub night with beer & many, many bags of crisps. 😳

Did you double check that 4.0? Even if you had woken up on 4, getting up and going down stairs and getting a cuppa and then testing would usually cause it to rise, so I suspect it may have been a rogue reading if you don't normally get readings in the 4s.
You should always double check any reading which surprises you or doesn't coincide with how you feel. So that 14 that shocked you should also have been double checked.

I like Maryport, we’ve walked the Allonby to Maryport bit of the path, next is Maryport to Whitehaven. We’ll park at Maryport and take the bus to Whitehaven and walk back. I lived in west Cumbria when I was a child, Cockermouth, so used to visit these towns a lot. It’s nice getting reacquainted with them.

Yes, taken in by the cloud cover and general dampness off I tootled in my usual state of reverie and on turning a corner my feet slid off to the side and down I went. Bashed my elbow rather than my backside and fortunately my head missed the low garden wall. Under the wet was a layer of ice.

Oh dear. It makes your heart bump a bit doesn’t it? Mine was like a cartoon fall. Arms circling and thought I’d got away with it but then caught another bit of ice and went down like a bag of spuds! 😳

Yup, sure does. I managed to collapse rather than fall and my ancient Barbour gave a bit of protection to my rear end. That makes four falls in the last year or so, three tripping up on tiny imperfections in ground geometry and one due to a bit of ice.

Whatever happened to those cat like reflexes that I had when gulley scrambling up Wasdale was seen as a bit of good sport?

PS... Its along time since I walked around Silloth and Maryport but I know why you go there!

Glad it's a short week, starting the year is always a bit bitty at work so takes me a few days to get into things.

RC planes must go with radio hams. My dad was a skilled model engineer ( self taught) and made some beautiful plane engines. He made the tools to make the engines. He and my brother would fly the planes often at local airfields but both also had model gliders for slope soaring. They both liked North Yorkshire and the Lakes more hills than Norfolk. Dad knew about planes he was a test pilot in the Navy until a crash stopped his flying career.
 
Morning everyone, the sun is shining and it’s a beautiful morning despite the frost.

And it’s a happy 4.7 for me today and I’ve nothing to do, what could be better.
 
morning all 5.3 this morning just collected my meds and the doc has changed my Libre to libra 2 plus wasn't expecting that, reduced my Lantus this morning by 2 so will see what happens now. have a good day everyone

Just a thought, have you had your Vit B12 levels checked? I was having similar falls, tripping over the slightest irregularity in the ground. It transpired my B12 was deficient and it can cause your gait to change so you are dragging your feet. Even now when my injection is due I have to be careful as I start doing the same again.
 
Very late today, even for me! It's a nice day, but my goodness I have rarely seen such a thick frost in this part of the world.

7.3 this morning. Alarm was set for 7:30 but I was awake at 5:30 worrying about my MRI scan this morning and what I might need to take with me as I knew I'd have to remove my sensor and was pretty sure that'd apply to my pod as well. We are looking after a friend's campervan whilst she's in Spain for 3 months and she likes us to give it a run occasionally so we took it to this odd hospital that's in the middle of nowhere. I thought it'd be a struggle applying a new pod/sensor in the car, but the van would be more spacious. In the event it was so cold I couldn't bear baring any skin, so was home before I applied anything at all . BG rose to 12.1 after all ironmongery had been missing for an hour. I suppose that was not bad considering. I'd taken spares of everything with me, including a cartridge of Apidra, a pen and needles! I'm a worry-wart!

@eggyg love your photos... I do have to laugh a bit, you always look glam.. lippie even if you are hiking in the wilds of nowhere and unlikely to meet anyone but seals and birds!

Standards darling, standards. 😉 I quite often don’t have any eye makeup on if I know I’ll be wearing sunglasses. But I always have to have my lippy on!
 
Good morning/moaning! BG 8.6. The Phantom Pain of yesterday evening subsided and I went to bed around 11:00 only to be woken by it striking back with a powerful burning sensation on top of the foot as if an oxy-acetylene torch is being played across the foot (I was going to say bunsen burner but suspect younger readers may be unfamiliar with them as apparently some schools around my area do not allow then for Health and Safety reasons). Waiting for second dose of pain killers to kick in.
