Group 7-day waking average?

Good morning folks on this damp breezy dull Friday.

Well it was a mish-mash of finger pricks today not producing sufficient blood for test strips which, incidentally, are now in dire short supply! Argh! Requests for repeat strips seem to be held on deaf ears! So no waking bg today:(

Currently, chronic back, hip and knee pain is reducing me to walking with the aid of a stick and/or, my faithful Rollator. On occasions when I can't walk far, then out comes the wheelchair which mainly is redundant in the garage! Otherwise chair exercises are the order of the day and my beloved caring family do their best to keep up my spirits ~ bless them. Moan over!

Hope you're all as well as you can be but for those of you aren't feeling too good, then I hope you feel better soon.
Take care,
WL

Morning folks. 🙂 5.6 here.

Hubby’s off to Bristol for the weekend to catch up with some mates. The hotel he’s booked is self-check-in, do’h - he doesn’t have a smartphone so he’ll have to write down the instructions, access codes, etc. I’ll keep an eye on our email in case they send any more instructions and text them to his old-fashioned phone. What a kerfuffle, he won’t be staying there again!

Technology’s hilarious - I had a conversation with a ChatBot yesterday that got the wrong end of the stick, completely. I wanted a refund so it sent me a returns label to print off...er, no thanks. Got it sorted eventually with a real person.

It’s Friday, whoop whoop!

Good morning, finally had a good sleep and just missed out with a 5.1
You may remember the saga of my mum's cheque that my bank refused to clear. After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing the originating bank has agreed to reissue it, and it should be with me in the next week or so.
Fingers crossed!
Plus, my former boss has finally liquidated his business which means we can apply for our redundancy and notice pay, five months after losing our jobs.
Hopefully things are on the up.

A 6.2 for me today. 🙂

Good morning folks. A 7.7 for me today. It's already 20 degC. Our Tai Chi class will be very warm at 11.30 despite the fans 😱

How is your poorly Mum doing now @freesia ?
Sorry to hear your chronic pain is limiting your mobility @Wirrallass .Sending you hugs
Pleased to hear that you will finally get that cheque. Ridiculous that it took so long to sort out @Lisa65 . I hope you get your outstanding redundancy payments soon.

Did a bit of foraging in the fruit cage yesterday. A few photos as promised but I forgot to take a photo of the ripe tayberries I picked. Making jelly later so will post a photo when it's jarred.
One photo is our black raspberry plant. Only one ripe berry so far. Delicious but didn't make it to the kitchen

Have a great Friday everyone. 20250626_214246.jpg20250626_214241.jpg20250626_165808.jpg20250626_165648.jpg20250626_165417.jpg20250626_165223.jpg20250626_165211.jpg20250626_165137.jpg20250626_165101.jpg

Does anyone want a cat?!

I do not know what my BG was this morning because I am living in a hazy fog due to cat-induced lack of sleep. Scratching at the door, jumping all over me when I inevitably let her in, licking me, trying to chew my pump tubing! She's cute but a complete pest!
(The other one is beautifully behaved at all times!)

Good morning folks! I’m back with a 4.4 today.

Been feeling absolutely overwhelmed with trying to get my parent’s house up for sale, clearing out stuff as well as visiting them and dealing with Mum’s dementia. We are away on the narrowboat in a week’s time for a couple of weeks, which we’re both looking forward to as a break from all of this.

Just put my repeat prescription in and hoping I can actually get the Abasaglar cartridges this time. They seem to be in short supply and for a couple of times the pharmacist has issued disposable pens. Not really a big issue but the pens take up more space if I need to take extra away with me.

Nothing much planned today, other than a visit to see Mum & Dad and then my radio club this evening.

Take care everyone and have a great Friday!

No thanks! I have one just like her at home. Dive bombs me on the bed at 4am lately and prods me whining pitifully until I get up and let her out for the morning patrol of the garden. Not feeding her at 4am! She always has a few biscuits in her bowl to snack between meals. Wouldn't swap her though. She's very loving and entertaining. <3

Those berries look gorgeous - remind me of my late mum, who grew raspberries, not as organised as that though.

Thanks @silver minion, I have opened an account with the originating bank purely so I can get that cheque paid in when it finally arrives. They can't refuse one of their own cheques, or can they???

Morning everyone.
Every day for the last ten days my fasting readings have been in the 4’s range, and with a 4.3 today It’s no different, it doesn’t seem to matter what I eat before bed - strange that!

Have a good day folks and stay hydrated.

Morning a half respectable 6.6 on waking today, I that as yesterday actually spent most of the days with high readings nearing or in doubble figure's, like going to bed with levels of 11,as ate to much chocolate on Wednesday plus finished off the last of the cakes from our afternoon tea last Sunday, anyway had 6 hrs sleep and feeling energetic today

My wife caught a mouse in the back garden, we obviously have a family of them living in the garden they never live alone do they, thegood news is they don’t go into the summerhouse garage or conservatory, they don’t go near the trap it’s a humane one and any we catch are getting given a chance to live in a massive park although I dear say would simply be pray for others.

Busy day at work today although hoping can schedule everything to possibly finish early as it’s POETS day after all, I’m now self employed so it’s ultimately up to me when I work but obviously need to be productive and available to see the customers at the right time for both them and myself, feeling a lot happier and certainly less stressed than I was a few months ago.

Great to read you finally will be getting your Mum's cheque re-issued @Lisa65 also that things are looking more hopeful for getting your payment that you are entitled to claim now that he has liquidated that business

Thank Crunchy It’s nearly the weekend

Morning

5.2 today, so pleased with that as I had a very rare hypo yesterday, I don’t think I have ever had my BG measure as 3, thankfully feeling clammy, suddenly feeling exhausted, craving carbs, blurry eyes all made sense when I checked, didn’t have any jelly babies as don’t usually get any lower than 4, so ate 2 of hubbies jammy dodger biscuits and 6 cream crackers, an hour later I was in the 5s.

@freesia - sorry to hear about your mum.

@Eternal422 - sending hugs as I k ow how difficult clearing out and selling someone’s house is, even worse for you as it is your parents, (same as it was for my hubby)

@Pam123 - once again I agree with @ColinUK - probate was granted back in 2021 for my later FIL estate, also if jewellery was left to you in your mum’s will a solicitor maybe able to advise you on this, for example my MIL’s jewellery was left to SIL but was still all in MIL bedroom, my SIL is currently sectioned, so when emptying the house out we boxed it all up including every bit of cheap stuff from Avon, and have been told by the solicitor we must not dispose of it and to pass it on to SIL once she is discharged, btw my hubby and his sister are estranged.

@Lisa65 - pleased to hear you can start the process of applying for your redundancy etc, after such a long time.

@Wirrallass - sorry to hear about the pain.

@eggyg - good news in the dishwasher arriving.

Sorry if I have missed anyone

6.3 this morning. I knew I shouldn't have had that brownie for dessert when we ate out last night. Nice pub and lovely meal, though.

Just got into our seats at the tennis and waiting for play to start. No blue sky or sunshine this morning and none forecast, but at least it's dry.

Have a good Friday.

I hate to shatter illusions but even getting probate granted can be a slog unless both the estate and the will are very straightforward. And given the sums involved here and the estrangement this is not straightforward.
everything should be straight forward, estranged sister is on a power trip always has, dads house was sold over a year ago and the only thing left to pay is 3 months care home fees, and the remaining to be shared out with the 4 of us, my other sister has said they expect it to take 3 weeks once she has submitted the papers to dads bank, its not my estranged sister who is taking the papers to the bank so that's a bonus fingers crossed but I won't hold my breathe

We have one like that.

6.3 this morning again high for me but we did have a meal out last night after hubby had his CT Scan, I didn't really feel like it but ended up having a few glasses of wine so might explain , anyway we had the usual agro at the mobile scan unit but worse than normal, I always go in with him, and wait in the corridor, I am not in the day and most don't have a problem, but last night we went in, I used my wheelchair as its a long walk from the car, the guy who came to go through the usual checks, looked at me at first assuming was the patient even though he had hubby name in front of him Alan. promptly said your not staying here, that didn't happen I soon put him in his place.
