Group 7-day waking average?

He put me on Ramipril, from today 5mg. Its like a vicious circle isn't it, raised BP increases anxiety which raises BP.

You already do a lot more exercise than me because of the horses. My exercise has slowed as i walk usually, but this heel pain is not going away and is causing problems with my other knee and back. I've tried pilates and my exercise bike instead but i'm struggling to get into a routine.

My mum has high BP and has had for years and my dad died aged late 40s from a heart attack so i've now accepted that chances are i would have needed meds sooner or later. For me, if it means i'm around longer, then i'll now take them.

It looks like you're doing as much as you can to avoid taking the meds and i hope it all works out ok for you and hope you feel better soon.
Hi Freesia,
Hope your medication goes well Ramipril is classified as an ACE Inhibitor and has been around for a very long time and is a mainstay of treatment so very much proven.
You can get similar products such as enalaporil but in essence they are very alike.

6.3 this morning.

Lovely night last night in Penkridge, on one of the hottest days of the year we got an engineer out to us to fix the boat central heating! However, mornings and evenings are still cold so we need it. Now moored in Tixall Wide with only around half a day to get back to the marina. My wife’s sister has joined us for today and tomorrow, nice the weather is good for her.

Earlier today at Deptmore Lock :

Will be more up to date with everyone once we’re back this weekend. I hope everyone is ok and keeping well.

Take care everyone!

5.2 this morning congrats to all HS people today, just completed day 4 at the gym getting to used to the lighting with my limited vision, no gym tomorrow as its hubby birthday so were going out for the day and will be eating out.

Our Boots now seems to have the repeats made up at a hub and delivered to the pharmacy already bagged up so are taking longer from putting in the request to being ready. Only those presented on the day are being done in house.
Not a prescription but an online purchase this time. I tend to do all of my Boots purchasing online as I clock up Virgin points that way as well as Boots advantage points.
Usually it’s great but this time it clearly isn’t.

Never used Boots for my prescription, but around here they closed all the small ones.
There are 7 Boots stores within walking distance with a further three or four not that much further away. Two are massive flagship stores so you’d think they’d have their supply chain sorted out to run seamlessly.

I have already swapped to decaf and trying to do more exercise and be more conscious of my salt intake. I almost never put salt on my food but I do eat a lot of cheese and roasted peanuts and I occasionally have Marmite on a crispbread.
Be careful. I did that and conscientiously avoided all salt. I ended up with low sodium. Not good and especially combined with high BG it can cause Hyponatremia - a condition where your brain swells and you have hallucinations and disassociation. It was what put me in hospital last year. I have now started carefully introducing more salt, despite still having high BP - today at clinic it was 148/90. I am on Bisoprolol to slow the heart and Felodipine for the BP. GP is monitoring me closely.

That's exactly what happened to me mixed with DKA, I was rushed to hospital in 21, not nice.

Hi everyone, really late today! It's been a lovely day and very warm if you could get out of the wind.

5.8 this morning first thing. I have given up trying to walk with J as he needs a brisk walk for his back and I am far too slow. I went for a walk with my friend Christine instead. We walk at the same pace and enjoy a good chat along the way. We did the loop up to the Cafe in the car park and then along the coast path to the level crossing. A nice 3/4 hour walk for us. Something funny was going on with the crossing gates which raised only momentarily and by the time we had covered the 3 metres to them had gone down again. There was a long queue of cars waiting to get out of the car park... luckily they raised again and we virtually ran across. They then went down again. I heard later that they were stuck down and people were calling for help! Add that to the fact that the temporary traffic lights for the road works in the village had broken and the place was chaos.

This afternoon I saw the Endo at the Diabetes Centre and he was more than happy with my control and pronounced it "excellent" I begged to disagree with him... but as I said "You can only do your best and then it throws you a curve ball and the diabetes fairy comes along and does something totally unexpected..." He laughed.

Anyway I picked up my new Ypsopump. Oh it is lovely, so tiny and light! OK I am back to tubing, but I coped for 8 years with a tubed pump and I am sure I can do it again. Saw the pump DSN and asked some questions that have been nagging me and I hope I am really going to enjoy the new pump with a much more aggressive HCL than the Omnipod. So lets see.... training is on 1 May.

Congratulations to @Lisa65 , @freesia , @ColinUK @khskel @Pam123 & @MikeyBikey on your HSs.... must be so crowded on that step today!

Have a good evening all.

Better ask everyone on the HS step to shuffle over to make room for your 5.2. Congratulations

Normal service has been resumed: 6.4

Well Colin imagine you wake up each morning singing “Those Boots were made for Walking”.Those of a certain vintage might relate to that.

Morning up at Crack of Sparras or Spuggies as I grew up saying with the additional “Hakspuggy” as we saw a Hawk Sparrow.
A 6.8 for me but first night in range for a few days so slowly getting back on track hopefully.
Dogs walked cup of tea in hand and posting first thing so back in the routine.
Quiet day of catch up and preparing for w/ end. Garden looking very tidy and plenty of garden waste for tip when I find the time.

Morning a Len from me today

I spoke to a GP yesterday on a phone call, she’s changed something recently prescribed, I was going to say this is a non diabetes related medication (as it’s for anxiety)
but I guess some of my stress & anxiety is related to Diabetes, although since I found this forum and made some changes with the help of GP/DSN my Diabetes these days is under much better control

@Eternal422 looks like your having a great time out on the boat, my sister lives over in Penkridge I’ve only been over there a few times but it looks a lovely part of Staffordshire.

I lost count of the number of people on that HS yesterday but hope I recognised / congratulated them all

Have a Fabulous Friday
TC 😎

Morning all. 7.7! For the first time in two weeks there isn’t any frost! In fact it’s 10 degrees! The great British weather eh?

Yesterday was wonderful and chaotic, no wonder my BGs were so high all day. Nine for lunch, we didn’t eat outside like I’d hoped, there was a coolish wind, although at one point my weather thingymajig said 19 degrees. We got rid of them in dribs and drabs by 4pm. Tidied up, dishwasher was on overtime yesterday, sat down and chilled, until tea time, I’d made spag Bol before the hordes descended so just needed warmed through and spag cooked. Ate at 7, nowt on telly, had a natter, bed at 9! So rock and roll! Four days off, fingers crossed, and we’ve “only” two more weeks of full on childcare. More than half way through the stint. Yeah! What terrible grandparents we are.😉

Doing laundry as it’s the last day of sunny weather for a while, and a bit gardening also planned. And maybe a chill with my book this afternoon.

Have a Fab Friday Folks.

Morning up at Crack of Sparras or Spuggies
We say “Up at a sparrows fart”! We call them spoggies up here.
Talking of birds, I’ve had two brand new visitors to the garden this week, yellow hammers! I was so excited, I’ve only ever seen two in my whole life, one in the Scottish Highlands two years ago, and one in the Lake District last year. They’ve been here twice this week, both very early, and hang around for quite a while. I did get photos but I haven’t downloaded them yet, I’ll do it today and post tomorrow.

5.4 today.

Last day of work for me before a week of very much needed annual leave. We're not doing much (Mr B has also got the week off), it'll just be nice to have some time and space. I've been crocheting a blanket on and off for 4 years - it would be nice to finally get it finished!!

Not that I get an easy slide into my holidays: I have a full clinic today, including some complex social care work. Still, roll on 5pm and holidays.

Have a lovely day everyone.
