8.1 for me this morning. Feeling pretty rubbish since last night as cold has moved from head down to chest, although still snotty too.

@a live Trying not to be jealous. Where in Austria? Probably my favourite country to visit, especially in the winter. Hope you had good snow.

Edited to replace the highlighted word that somehow disappeared between me typing and hitting post. Perhaps it got blown off the screen by one of these violent sneezes. 🙄

Morning all. 7.1 for me.

A very welcome flatfish overnight and a good night’s sleep for once. I needed it! Up at 6 yesterday, for my 9.30 Omnipod 5 set-up appointment. Parking at the hozzie’s a nightmare - hence the early start! I was an hour early but found a space immediately. Luckily, there’s a Costa in the hospital, so I nursed (see what I did there...he, he) a flat white and did some people-watching.

Start-up went well. So far so good...I’m currently in “activity mode” for my morning walk. My boss is very kindly covering for me this morning - must remember to go to my 1 o’clock class! Exciting times.

Good luck @Elenka_HM - I hope the paperwork isn’t too OTT.

Morning all hope you are all well and safe
7.2 for me a bit higher than normal but Im happy with it
Have a good day all
Take care

Good morning 9.6 bit of a high one today still at least it wasn’t double figures (quite)

at the recommendation of my pharmacy (when I collected a prescription on Tuesday) I got seen by not a GP but a Nurse Practitioner yesterday afternoon, I’ve got a flare up of Eczema (on my hands)
she was happy to prescribe steroids & antihistamines (I had been treating it with over the counter meds unsuccessfully)
we also talked briefly about stress & anxiety, which is possibly a contributing factor, that is something Mrs @goodybags has previously suggested but I hadn’t realised

Congrats on todays HS @MeeTooTeeTo @eggyg & @Elenka_HM (on yesterday)
Good to see @Martin.A post yesterday

I had seen your lunchtime thread @MikeyBikey (i might drop in on the weekends) but to busy and anxious weekdays

Have a Wonderful Wednesday everyone 😎

Morning everyone. Just for a change the sun is shining on my 4.6 today…….will it last?

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

Morning all :hello: , been lurking since jury duty, today is my 1st diabetes anniversary, my how time flies. I think the honeymoon period is over as my bloods have been all over the place since new year, my insulin use has nearly doubled. 7.8 this morning, slowly upping my basel to bring that down a bit.
Reading about all your escapades and family doings has been a big comfort this last year, thank you everyone for the advice, the laughs and the tears, I couldn't have done it without you <3

Morning all. 4.9 and a restless night. It took a while to get to sleep, then i was hot and clammy, then cold, couldn't get comfortable, up 3 times for the toilet. I must have slept at some point, tossing and turning, as my hair this morning...the back is like a birds nest, the front sticking up like i've had an electric shock!

Weekly shop to do this morning, then calling into mums.

Congrats to @eggyg and @MeeTooTeeTo on your HS.

08:35 BS 7.9

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

My right wrist is ABSOLUTELY KILLING ME this morning! I injured it again about 2 weeks ago now when I lost the grip of my iPad mini, I’m ALWAYS losing my grip on things & dropping them, with my left hand horizontally in bed before sleeping that night, it’s very often my left that holds it as I type with my right, & it landed on my right wrist! It smarted at the time but, I didn’t think much of it but, it’s an old injury site & I have injured that wrist several times before. Indeed that was the original wrist injury that led to multiple injuries to both wrists over the years as I’ve gotten into the habit of doing a lot of things one handed, while one wrist is healing, that should really be done with both hands. I’m a lot more ambidextrous because of that BUT, doing things one handed, whichever hand is closest although there are SOME things I can only do with my right, instead of two! Neither of my wrists are particularly strong because of the injuries & I REALLY must break the habit of only using one hand!

My right wrist just kept getting steadily more sore as the days went by & I just woke up to a chilly morning. It’ll warm up & AHHH! It’s already warmer, looser & no pain at all now as I type this with my right middle finger!

I'm joining the Heinz 57 club on this rather cool Berkshire morning. No sunshine, and none in the forecast either, just a sky the colour of milk.

@Sharron1 - I get up and test while the kettle's boiling, so generally within 5 minutes of getting out of bed.

@rebrascora - I agree about Austria. My wife and I had a lovely summer holiday there a couple of years after we met, staying in Kirchdorf in Tirol but with coach trips to places like Salzburg. Stunning scenery, including the nearby Wilder Kaiser mountain ridge. I've stayed in Vienna too, but that was back in 1968 (blimey, is it that long ago..??).

Free day, more or less, so as it's forecast to be dry I think I'll cut up the honeysuckle I had to cut down and bag it up for the garden waste collection tomorrow. Neighbours are back and they're OK with me stripping their creeper off the fence panels that the storms brought down. But first, coffee and read the newspaper.

Congrats @eggyg and @MeeTooTeeTo on your HSs

Hope everyone has a good day.

@Martin.A You won't believe it but Kirchdorf was my very first stay in Austria when I was 17. It was fabulous not least because they had record amounts of snow just before we arrived which was a yard deep on every roof and piled high everywhere. Temperatures were something silly like -25 but it was fine and sunny and everything including the air glistened. Your breath froze on your hair and eyelashes, but it was just absolutely magical! It was my first trip abroad and my first skiing holiday and I fell in love with skiing and Austria and have been back many times over the years, mostly in winter but also spring, although that all stopped when I got my horses. Would love to go back for a walking holiday one day. Happy memories!

GM to one and all,

5.3 for me, I understand the fof /dawn phenomena thingy but at what point of waking do people test their bg? I tend to get up, go downstairs and then test. I wonder if that makes any difference?

Today is full of meetings, will need all my resolve to ignore biscuuts etc that are usually available and somehow placed on front of me. Sigh.

Wishing everyone a happy Wednesday
People who find they do suffer from FOTF test in bed before even getting up i.e. before they put a foot on the floor, how much difference it would make for you unless you do two tests, one in bed and one when you have got up etc.

I tend to take mine before I get up. Though I can see because I use the Libre2+, my levels start to rise from around 5 am.

4.4 this morning for me.

A chilled day planned for today as we have been going over to my parents every day since Friday (a 2 hour round trip) and we desperately need some r&r ! The freezer was delivered to my parents yesterday, but was damaged, so we are getting it exchanged tomorrow- so yet another trip :(

My dad refused to have my daughter visit today which is really sad. I had a good chat with her afterwards. She knows it is just how they are but even so it must feel bad. We have decided to force the issue of putting a care package in place, they are really at the point of not being able to care for themselves and this episode has highlighted just how vulnerable we all are in being able to care for them.

Congratulations to our trio of HSers today : @eggyg , @MeeTooTeeTo and @Grannylorraine !

@Sharron1 - I note my reading from the Libre whilst still in bed after waking. As soon as I step out of bed my BG rises before dropping back a bit before breakfast.

Take care everyone!

Congratulations everyone who got a heinz 57 today; I nearly had one myself, coming in at 5.6.

It's a gorgeous morning here - wall to wall blue sky and sunshine, temperature of a balmy 7°, certainly mood-lifting.

OH and her support are rearranging our front room, I'll never find anything when I get downstairs now. Mind you, as I understand, they're putting away the last remnants of Christmas that's been languishing on the shelves.
