Group 7-day waking average?

Morning lovelies!

5.4 for me this morning. Absolutely smitten with the Dexcom One+ so far, the anxiety has definitely gone, absolutely magical.

Got a text from GP surgery yesterday saying to make an appointment for my bloods (which were due on 31/1) so checked Patient Access account and there was no appointment.
Called surgery, Receptionist said she'd get a task through to the Nurses, rechecked Patient Access...27th February!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been back on to them so waiting for another appointment now, otherwise I'm assuming all of this starts again with a new HbA1c and retest 4 weeks later?? :(

Hope you all have a super excellent day xo
I don't think the time of 3 months is critical, it just shouldn't be less than 3 months after your diagnosis test so an extra month is no problem really and after that as long as things have gone in the right direction i.e. downwards then it would likely be not for another 6 months or even a year depending on the policy at your surgery.

Morning folks.

Woke up able to breath through my nose which was completely dry and clear, despite going to bed all stuffed up with Vick's smeared around my nostrils and hankies under the pillow and having to mouth breath. Thought I must be cured....it's good stuff that Vick's! Jabbed my insulin and sat up and it was like someone turned a tap on. I am absolutely streaming and really violent bouts of sneezing. Even my eyes are running!! Don't feel desperately bad though and I will be plodding up the hill with feed buckets and haylage shortly, although I might be a bit slower than usual.

Anyway it was a 4.2 for me but I was in the red quite a bit yet again, despite no evening Levemir and a 2 unit reduction yesterday morning. Did I say I had a new personal worst Time Below Range, the other day with 12% because I have bettered it now with 16% below. 😱 Even FOTF has deserted me and I barely have time to make breakfast before my low alarm is going off whereas normally I have to sit and look at it for 45 mins, before I can eat it. Will just keep reducing doses until it settles down. You would think this cold would send my levels up a bit, but it doesn't seem to be helping at all! I am sleeping really well though, and no real worry about going too low, it's just that it really doesn't look good on my stats and I am due a review next month. My HbA1c is going to be an all time low!!

PS. Love the idea that I now have a new brother @ColinUK Hope you and your friend both enjoy the opera and your "bananas presentation" goes down a storm.

when mum went to register step dads death she was given something (i can't remember whether it was a form to fill in while there or a telephone number). Either way, she gave details of my step dad and the government agencies etc were all notified through that altogether so she didn't have to sort it all. It might be worth Mr Eggy asking about that, it would save a few phone calls.
Yes, funeral director told us yesterday, it’s called Tell us Once, or something similar. Sounds like a Netflix drama! The registrar gives you a number when you register the death, which we can’t do until Medical Examiner gets in touch, for DWP, council tax, etc. so that’s a good help. Just bank and insurance companies, contents and life, to do after that I think. I suppose utility companies we’ll do after we’ve finished clearing it. Already cancelled broadband/phone, TV licence, Postcode lottery. We’re bound to forget something!
Edited it to say @ColinUK got to it first. Thanks both.

Ahhhh OK, just really annoying when I'd got my head around it and was almost looking forward to seeing what the results were, rather than confused and terrified like a week or so ago.

Everything seems to be going in the right direction from my end at least.
Anxiety virtually gone since getting the Dexcom One+
In range 100% of the time now even with finger jabbing and I'm 10lbs down, will easily have lost over a stone by Feb 27th so hopefully the HbA1c follows suit :D

Some of us are old enough that we’ve never needed to do that as we didn’t have the interweb around before everything we could get up to was legal!
I’m certainly glad there wasn’t such things as camera phones back in the day! Apparently granddaughter, who’s just turned 18, tells me that the doormen at clubs ask to see your Instabook/TikTac page to check the photo against your ID to make sure it’s you! Not that I ever went clubbing before I was 18! 😛 ( If you believe that you’ll believe anything).

seeing your tentative date of Feb 17 makes me realise how lucky they are in Ireland - my wife’s cousin died last Friday morning and his funeral was on the Sunday. I think that makes it easier on the family.
It certainly would. It’s almost three weeks, and that’s if the vicar can do it. The problem is the crematorium, there’s only two in the county I think, and the others in West Cumbria which is about an 80 mile round trip. if she was having a burial it would definitely be quicker.

Couldn’t concentrate on anything much and the weather was awful so I thought I’d bake.
I bake or cook too if I’m stressed or can’t concentrate. Last Monday/Tuesday before MIL died, I made the biggest pan of chilli, a full roast dinner, on a Monday, a Borrowdale tea bread and cheese and onion pasties! All in 24 hours! I put the radio on very loud whilst I’m doing it. It does calm me down somewhat, then I have to clear up! 😱

Morning all and 4.9 for me.

Prob off to Bradford later to the big Tesco there. They have some interesting stuff in.

Rehearsal tonight. Could be a frosty one with no one knowing if our guitarist was hacked on social media or was just a total plinker to put it politely.

Have a good day everyone.
Realistically the likelihood of a random guitarist being hacked on social media is slim. Even the chances of a well known musician being hacked is slim.

Hopefully you can sort everything out to everyone’s satisfaction later.

Morning all, it's still windy and wet, though the sun was out earlier and the scaffolders at the end of the road were making a lot of noise and sounded like they were having a party on the scaffolding.

10.1 this morning - it's getting worse and once again I didn't make time to fiddle with the basals. Will definitely do it today as I have little on. Ah, except helping hubby empty the under-stairs cupboard which seems to have mould in it. Needs to be vented to ensure some airflow, cleaned and re-painted with mould resistant paint. This is a new house (well 7 years old), not an old one with lots of damp, but we do get mould in "dead" areas.

I certainly recall clubbing before age 18. It wasn't illegal, providing you didn't drink alcohol.

Good luck with your busy day @ColinUK - am honoured to be part of the family!

@Martin.A very nice to see you again!

I see there's nothing from @Gwynn. Hope he is OK.

Take care everyone and have a good day!

Surely if he'd been hacked he'd have been in touch with everyone protesting his innocence?

Forgot to post a pic of the tart.

It looked fine (it’s in a bigger tin because I moved the pastry case into this one for filling it for reasons best known to my utterly unfathomable brain) but tasted awful. IMG_2504.jpeg

Good morning everyone! 5'2 today, yay! Looks like I'm getting another cough and sore throat, not yay!

The potential flatmate messaged to say it's "great news" that I want the room, but she has another viewing tomorrow that was scheduled before I went, so she thinks she should let them see the place too. She promised to inform me asap after that. That sounds reasonable but obviously I'm nervous, I hope she doesn't like the other person that much! And hope the other person finds another lovely place, of course. I had another viewing too, the lady is waiting for an answer from me, that adds to the impatience. Maybe I can get the place I want and the other visitor goes to live in that lady's house, and everyone is happy! :D

I forgot to mention earlier that I started a pre-lunch thread. No real interest sol far so I will give it to the end of the week to see if it takes off...

5.1 this morning, I got a call from Spa Medica this morning who apologised for the miscommunication on there part the reason for them rejecting my referral for the AMD team was simply down to the area we live not allowing funding however they said they would contact my Optician to see what they could do to help, they phoned back and said there was another clinic near me in Chesterfield I could be referred to, all this has to go through a company called Health Harmony who to be honest are terrible, despite them not giving me the other options other than hospital should have come back to me before referring me to Kings Mill in the first place so now I have to wait for them to get back in touch and take it from there, but ive been advised to argue the point if I get any more agro and mention the Patient Charter, failing that speak to my doctor who they think he can override these people and refer me back to Spa Media, its all so stressful but the lady at Spa Medica did say it might not even be AMD.

Congratulations @Elenka_HM on your HS.

The low alarm went off at 4am, took a JB and tried to get back to sleep, but I reckon it'd snow in hell first.
Took another reading and it had shot up to 6 then 9.1!

Played a couple of songs on my guitar to a visitor; Country Roads & Whiskey in the Jar. This was about two hours after my guitar lesson which didn't go accordingly well.

(they sent the rules around yesterday and I’m not allowed to mention to anyone that I’m on the judging panel apart from close friends and family so welcome to the family you lot!
Does this mean we can come and stay and eat Jewish/Polish apple cake (i love apple cake, yum! What is it that makes it Jewish/Polish)? I hope the presentation went ok. Enjoy the opera.

@Elenka_HM congrats on the HS. Fingers crossed you get the room you want.

Woke up very early at 6.2, managed to get back to sleep only to be woken just after 6 by my oppo asking if I could cover his shift because he wasn't feeling well.
Went into work to find only three residents left so hardly anything to do. Tomorrow is my last day as the remaining ones are leaving tomorrow, and the home will close on Friday. End of an era :hello:

@Elenka_HM congratulations on your HS and I hope you get your SH (Special House!)

@ColinUK - honoured to be considered part of your family! 🙂 Especially looking forward to some lovely food😉

@Lisa65 - sorry to hear the home will be closing on Friday. There’s a real shortage of carers so hopefully you’ll get a new job quickly.
