Group 7-day waking average?

Morning everyone. well, it's been a long time coming but finally got a 5.2 today.

Have a good day folks and stay well.
.

Morning all - quite a nice day here in West Cornwall. Blue sky etc with just a bit of low overcast. Not a breath of wind.

Very disappointed with 7.7 and can see no reason for it. Darn HCL should be aiming for 6.1 and no reason not to be there. I shall give it a smack! Even if smacks are verboten these days!

On the spur of the moment yesterday we invited our lovely neighbour in for dinner. No problem there was lots of food. She is great company and apparently enjoyed her meal saying "it's like eating in a restaurant". Tremendous compliment but taken with a pinch of salt! Not so many leftovers so tonight will be a bit of an improvisation and we'll bulk out the meat with some Cornish Hog's Pudding! Also cook a few more green veg.

Have an appointment for bloods at 2:30, mainly kidney function. We'll be meeting our friends in the local about 5:30 for "Wobbly Weds" when we get 20% off drinks as members of the Wobbly club.

Congratulations to @Barrowman on the HS

@ColinUK we went to a wedding in Kew about 8 years ago. The evening meal in the Orangerie was absolutely spectacular with opera singers and towering vases of flowers. ISTR the food was pretty good too!

Have a good day all!

BS all over the place last 2 mornings 7 and today 5.1 both nights have had hypos really bad and in the day time instead of my usual 6 ish its been 9 s I think the reason why is below

why I hate the NHS hubby has a scan due at the end of the month, before its due they check his blood, then send him a scan date, they usually request the bloods done a week before the scan date, the scan is due week commencing the 23rd Dec, all his checks ups are by phone he has only ever had one face to face consultation when he was diagnosed 3 and a half years ago, and that was harrowing to say the least, they told him if he preferred any future appointments would be by phone, even his treatment was done at home after the first two of a 2 year course of immunotherapy which finished last August, so now he just has scans its called active surveillance

We have had a few times when they have messed up but this time takes the biscuit, So last week he gets a call, not sure who it was but they said the scan unit had cancelled his appointment because he hadn’t had his bloods done, firstly he hadn’t had a scan date and was waiting for the date so he could get his bloods done, he explained
all of the above, the guy said oh sorry miscommunication can you get your blood done and then we will send you a date.

They had already booked the next consult by phone for January 14th with his results from the scan would be in. so blood test was booked for last Monday with our surgery so we thought it was all sorted then a letter dropped on the doorstep Monday saying his appointment for January 14th had been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances and they wanted him to attend clinic on the 17h Dec. Confused he phoned Oncology to ask why, when he hadn't had a scan, and told them he had no intention in attending the clinic, the response was, Why, he said, one its on my record I have phone appointments, the rather abrupt reply was the consultant requested you visit and you will be required to have bloods taken, he said cancel the appointment I am going to the doctors this afternoon for my bloods this afternoon.

Anyway he had his blood done and yesterday the consultants secretary phoned him and said, you have cancelled your appointment, he said yes thats right, and my blood were done yesterday she said oh that’s ok then, they will send you a scan appointment shortly and I will re book your phone appointment for 14th January, thats unless you want to come in, I am afraid he sort of lost in and said what part of I only want phone consultations does your department not understand, and why was this appointment made for next week anyway and she said the consultant was concerned you wouldn’t have you bloods done.

Sorry for the rant I just needed to vent its bad enough trying to live from scan to scan without these idiots who have no idea how things like this effect people, It might sound silly but from my part I’ve spent the last two days wondering what they wanted to see him for which has had a very bad reaction to my and my hubbys mental heath,

Totally get what your saying but for different reasons, but they have no idea how there one size fits all, or automated text systems etc don’t fit everything/everyone and cause distress.

I am sure they never read any patients records or preferences.

I am sorry you have all this added stress on top of what you are already going through.

Well as a first attempt at a Dundee cake I don’t think it turned out too bad.

I’ve ordered some of those insulating belts to wrap around the outside of a cake tin which will hopefully help it cook more evenly next time. The edge was a bit over baked.

I’m going to make one for Friday next week and another coffee gathering.

It’s not low carb but it’s lower than it would be normally as I’ve switched the light molasses for Brown Shuga and increased the percentage of cranberries in the dried fruit mix. It’s still got half a jar of marmalade in it though!

Had to Google those, I didn’t know they existed! I still use brown paper wrapped round the tin and tied with string, as my mother did, and no doubt her mother before her. (Luckily our co-op still provides brown paper bags to put loose fruit and veg and bakery items in, so I have a ready supply). The disadvantage of that, of course, is that you need to borrow someone to press their finger on the first knot while you tie the second.

Mum’s used these belt things for a while and she says it makes a huge difference.

Also I’ve not got anyone with a spare finger around.

I was going to say the same as @Robin - I have baking belts but still like damp newspaper or brown paper, just have to remember where the baking string is.

Cake does look nice though, I’ll come round for a coffee and a slice.

congrats on the HS today @Barrowman

not sure if anyone else has noticed some of the usual visitors haven’t been in for a few days including @BobbleHat , I might’ve missed something maybe 🙄 (like I do at work sometimes)

A very early good morning. 5.1 at 3.45 when I got up! That’s early even for me.

Yesterday wasn’t a good day. To cut a very long story short Mr Eggy’s mother was found on the floor when the Carer’s went round for their morning visit. She had vomited and they’d called an ambulance. Mr Eggy went round as the ambulance arrived and followed her up to A&E. He had to cancel his hospital appointment. I was left with the 3 year old and 10 month old, without a car and a pending opticians appointment. I called in the cavalry, other grandmother! She picked me and the kids up dropped me off and took me back home later. I need new specs, I knew that, my distance and reading prescription has changed significantly, I’m long sighted. Mr Eggy arrived home at 4pm. His mother was declared fine, slight infection and antibiotics given, and was ready to be discharged, as long as a carer would be there. His brother picked her up, she was fine when he left eating fish and chips. Carer called later mother wasn’t “right”, bearing in mind she’d been fine all day in A&E laughing and joking with the staff, Mr E said he’d never seen her so animated for months. Attention? He went round and put her to bed and waited until she was settled and said he was leaving, she didn’t want him to so he stayed some more and then said he had to go home. 2,30am, vague message from brother, at mother’s ambulance called, by whom we don’t know, Careline maybe? He was going up to see how she was. Of course we haven’t slept since then, so I got up. She was checked out thoroughly yesterday and was declared fine, this happens a lot and they can never find anything wrong, she’s in rude heath for a nearly 88 year old but has health anxiety, always has done, and is a chronic attention seeker which has got worse this last few months. She’s forever pressing her careline pendant and then denying it, Careline then phone us because she doesn’t answer her phone when they call to check if she’s ok. Mr Eggy just wandered down whilst I was writing this, his brother messaged to say she’s answered all the questions straight away, date of birth, name, how old she is etc. which is odd as she is always asking “ how old am I?” “When’s my birthday?” When Mr Eggy asks her to try and remember she goes in a sulk and says she can’t! Oh dear! Could be another very disjointed day and we have appointments today too. She is actually harder work than the toddlers!

On another note, eldest granddaughter taking her driving test today, second attempt, all fingers and toes crossed please.

If you’ve got this far. Have a great day.

Good morning - 7.0

Have a great day everyone .

Woohoo. I can play in these games now. Mine is still running high as still early days but 9.8 is the lowest its been since diagnosis when it was 28+.

Phone call with the DSN today and they may increase my doses a little to now get it into range. Then the fun will begin to keep it there 🙂

Morning 10.2 and on the way up. Have a good day.

Good morning everyone

BG 5.1

Yesterday was good and calm both weather wise and emotionally with my wife. Mind you I can't really say anything about the weather as I didn't go out in the end and decided to continue resting my hip.

Today, I venture out (I think). A few things needed (like something for tea tonight), a lot more christmas carol practice, rest...

The Christmas decorations have sat firmly locked in the shed as no one can be bothered to get them and put them up. This Christmas will be one with little cheer I feel. No family!

Have a great day today whatever you are doing
