Group 7-day waking average?

Good morning 8.0 on waking today
yesterday had a busy challenging but a productive day at work (although should’ve been on a day off)

I’m not a big watcher of the bake off on the TV
but I get the feeling both @ColinUK & @Gwynn are going to be contestants next year

Have a Terrific Thursday everyone 😎

4.4 on getting out of bed, quick breakfast this morning then off over the mountains to the funeral this morning.

@dannybgoode - welcome to this thread! Looks like you’re starting to find your feet a bit now, good luck with the DSN call today and 73s!

@eggyg - so sorry to hear of your MIL’s saga yesterday and possibly today as well by the sound of it. As you know, going through much the same ourselves with my parents, so I can definitely empathise with you both!

@Gwynn - you always have us here, hoping things get better for you.

@Bloden and @ColinUK - we’ve still not written any Christmas cards, it’s looking like we’re not going to bother this year. It seems little point as we are in touch with friends by phone, messages, etc., etc. anyway throughout the year and will be seeing family over Christmas.

Take care everyone!

Morning

4.3 today, didn’t sleep well, but I am sure that will happen, but so called friend is dropping round some bits that she borrowed for her son’s Christening back in October today, so very anxious about that, she was very rude to me that they were still in her house, she has a car, I don’t, she borrowed them so surely it was on her to return them, anyway hubby is off so I am sending him to the door, I am a coward I know. Put all the Christmas presents I had bought in bags so she can collect them, I didn’t get round to wrapping them up as I had lost the excitement and enthusiasm, but wanted him to have all the things I had bought for him, but at 9months old he isn’t going to miss unwrapping them.

@eggyg - what a day and night you and Mr eggyg have had, I hope this isn’t a scenario she isn’t going to keep playing out today, both for you and Mr eggyg sake, but the waste in already stretched paramedic and A&E services. I hope you can both get some rest today.

@ColinUK - now I am not working, currently officially off sick while I get paid sick leave, I would love to meet you for a coffee, I am sure you can introduce me to a lovely coffee shop rather than the chain ones I am stuck with in Lakeside.

@goodybags - I often wonder what has happened to forum friends when they go missing, maybe they just don’t feel the need for the forum or this thread anymore, or whether they are seriously ill. @Lanny has been missing again for some time, and I am sure there are others.

A 4.8 for me this morning. 🙂

Dez

Good morning 8.1 or 7.4 depending on whether you believe the ring finger (lying swine) or the middle one. Was furious given my abstention from anything carby for dinner then recalled eating an entire slab of Galaxy following nightmare journey to Lampeter tip.

Tree fellers blocking A road and diverting us onto another blocked road - they may have been diverted but I was definitely Queen Victoria. 1 hour 20mins for a half hour drive Grrr. Came back a different route - massive house fire and another diversion...Feed merchant closed as no electricity...further diversion to another one. Wicked display of chocky bars by till. Made it to the garage to drop car in for MOT, left hand change gear, pass calories to mouth, change gear, who was Fangio any way, you get the picture.

@eggyg My sympathy - puts my minor annoyances into perspective. You are wonder woman in the way you cope with your extended family - and Mr Eggyg is in a similar but masculine role.

Have a good day all - I'm back on the packing.

Morning and up and down overnight and take your pick from a 4.5 to a 7.1 but for first time I forgot to take my basal last night so not surprising it is variable.
Managing with bolus but not easiest as away in hotel and in Meetings all morning after our Xmas Do.
Last nights meal was really good and I usually go vegetarian on these occasions as fine food nicer and it was lovely last night.
Martin thought of you and your son as I filled up with fuel at Tesco in Bracknell wondering if it is the one where your son works.
Anyway have a good day

Morning everyone. 7.9 for me on waking after a rather restless, if flat, night. Bit of a rollercoaster yesterday as I am smothered with a heavy cold so my BG has a mind of its own. I took extra units before breakfast this morning so I hope today will be a little easier to manage. :thankyou:

Morning All - 6.2 this morning. My sensor fell off last night in the evening (first time). I put it down to where it was positioned as I'd put it on as a demonstration on my diabetes course last week and they told me to position it much more underneath my arm on my bingo wing - well that felt very odd and clearly it had been catching on things without me realising as I'd never had this happen before. I put a new one on and did the reporting to Abbot thing last night so hopefully they'll replace soon. Not much to report - I must get out in the garden today, dogs permitting. @eggyg so sorry to hear about your Mother-in-Law - sending lots of love. @Grannylorraine I really feel for you - Not sure why your friend is being so off and it was clearly up to her to bring those things back to you - maybe there's something else going on in her life. I'm sure you are a very good friend to her and please don't worry xxx

I made carrot cake yesterday with some bendy carrots I’d left in the fridge whilst we were away. Do I qualify for entering? 😛

Morning all - grey and very gloomy this morning.

7.2 this morning.

Meeting my friend in town for lunch and then we're going to see "Conclave" at the local cinema. Not sure it's my sort of thing, but it's my friend's pick and sitting in the cinema is preferable to wandering about town in this weather! J is meeting his friend to play Crib and possibly Backgammon.

Talking about cards, I find them an absolute chore and would prefer not to send any, but I thought I'd done them, only to get the first two from people I hadn't thought of sending them to. I'm only doing ones locally that I can hand out, or the rest have been sent by email. It's getting too much!

Yes, @Grannylorraine and @goodybags there are people missing. Kaylz (though I did hear from her and she's OK), Michael (aka @miguel81) who went home from the care home and the last we heard he had had another nasty hypo and one or two others (including Lanny).

@Grannylorraine indeed your friend is behaving appallingly, not worth bothering with her, but in your present circumstances it's one more nagging thing and is probably bothering you more than it normally would. Be kind to yourself and ignore her.

@eggyg so sorry to hear about MIL. Might just be attention seeking, but the trouble is you never know and it's mega worrying.

@Gwynn sending hugs... even if you only put one decoration up and have a nice Christmas meal it would probably make you feel a bit better.

So... have a have a happy day all.

I think we should have our own Diabetes UK Bake-off, as there are a few bakers on here. Honestly in you all lived closer I would certainly invite you the BakeClub I go to every 6 weeks, but I think for some of you the round trip of many hours wouldn’t be worth it for 2 1/2 hrs of tea or coffee and cake, there are often savoury bakes as well, it doesn’t have to be sweet, @ColinUK could venture out to the depths of the district line, although still a bus ride from the station, but not sure if he wants to be surrounded by a bunch or middle aged to more mature women on a Monday evening.

Morning all. 3.6, low again and have been for a while according to graph. I think they are compression lows as i think i've put it in a slightly different place to usual, i can't get confortable when in bed.

@eggyg sorry to hear about your MIL. I'm going through a similar thing here. We went to the hospital the other day and spoke to a senior person on the ward. Mum isn't making her needs known but is complaining constantly to us about things. The last time she fell out of bed at home, we went round and got her back in, she was ok. Paramedics turned up as Careline had called them and asked if she wanted to go into hospital. Mum said ok! I hope you have a more settled day with your MIL and she is alright.

@Grannylorraine, don't worry about your friend. Hubby can answer the door if you really feel you don't want to see her. She seems very ungrateful and it is definitely up to her to return things she's borrowed. You could always give the gifts you bought to a childrens charity/hospice/hospital if she is that ungrateful, or maybe just give the child something small.

@ColinUK can we all come? The cake looks delicious.

@PattiEvans enjoy the film. We saw it while away. Hubby said it was good, i fell asleep (i think it was the wine i had earlier, the warmth of the cinema and the reclining seats!).

I need to wrap the last presents and write the dreaded cards today. Have a good day everyone.

Morning all and 6.3 for me.

Got the results of blood tests taken at the Gaps on Tuesday. HbA1C 44 which I'm very pleased with. Everything else was fine. Potassium levels just slightly over target but marked as satisfactory.

Telephone appointment with gastroenterology consultant this aft.

Sorting, tidying and keyboard practice to be done.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone. It’s a very dull and foggy morning here today but I don’t care as I’m having a whole day inside doing outstanding jobs I’ve been putting off for some time.

Anyway, it was a happy 4.9 for me on waking this morning after a somewhat restless night.

Have a good rest of the day everyone and stay well.
.

Good morning everyone! 7'9 today.

I finally tried a waffle in my local, I split it with a friend and I am proud to say I got the insulin right. A bit of walking and shopping afterwards also helped. My downfall at the moment seems to be late night snacks :(

Arriving to Exeter for my favourite pre-Christmas activity: their festive market. Probably visit a few of the city shops as well. Have a nice day!

We’ve said that she’ll call wolf one too many times. Hospital just called she’s been assessed to see if she’s “safe” to go home. Had her walking about etc. one of his brothers is going to collect her. We’re in the hairdressers. Then social services are going to assess her home. It’s a tiny one bed pensioners bungalow, don’t know what they’ll be able to do. Apparently she’d been found behind the front door at 2am. What she was doing we don’t know because she can’t remember.
