Group 7-day waking average?

Good morning! A 7.3 this morning after a reasonable night for me.

ENT appointment at lunchtime (not silly o'clock or early doors for a change). 🙂

Broken cloud, very cold.

Total disaster! Patient Transport said they would get to my appointment between 60 - 75 minutes late so rung clinic to see if I would be seen. They said NO and gave me new appointment on 9th April 2025! This appointment has been three years in the making! (sweary emoji)

Wanting an alarm-free night (much to my wife’s relief) I went to bed a bit higher than I have been and ended up with a nice 5.4 this morning.

We had out Christmas breakfast today at a Toby Carvery, organised and paid for by the Canal & River Trust as a thank you to all the volunteers in our region. There must have been around 100 people there and after not seeing some of the volunteers we worked alongside this year since October, it was nice to catch up again. Very nice gesture and the breakfast set us up for the day, we even skipped lunch as we’re still full afterwards

Happy Birthday @freesia - hope you’re having a good day!

Me neither - we go to my mum’s for Xmas and there’s no room in our lounge for a tree (especially with a puppy!). My BFF has got a flat Xmas tree that she hangs on the wall - I’m tempted, cos I do like a shiny bauble or three and some tinsel this time of year.

Morning all. 4.9 here.

Had my GP surgery diabetic review on Monday. Apparently, my A1c of 66 is “very good”. I said “No, it isn’t” - I wasn’t in the mood, as you can tell! I felt bad afterwards for not being polite, but...honestly...where do they get these people from?!!

Enjoy your Xmas decorations, ev1.
they told me recently my A1c was to low at 39 the mind boggles.

very late posting 4.8 this morning shopping looking for stocking fillers for daughter I do it every year, buy her big presents then lots of little treats but she 27 now hubby dispairs when I say that's it ive finished now.😛here is our tree

How about for a bit of fun if people who test in the mornings post their waking levels? I think it would be interesting to see what the average works out at after a week 🙂

I'll start with mine - I was 6.0 when I woke up this morning 🙂

(please don't let me be the only person to enter one! 😉)
8-ish (can't quite remember). It's usually 7 - 8. I've mulling over upping my basal from 3 to 4. Looking at all your figures, I'm starting tonight.

@ColinUK talking of Rock, I used to collect them. On every walk I would try to find the perfect rock and return with pockets full of great stones. Some were tiny but some were very big. The perfect rock doesn't have to be spherical, but, well, it's hard to define. I think symetry comes into it a lot though. In the end I kinda filled the house with rocks!

I even found a reslly nice cuboidal rock in wales but it was just too large to move. Sigh.

All gone now, well, some gone, my prized ones remain!

Oh, you're not talking about that sort of rock....

Wow! An HbA1c of 39 equates to roughly an average BG of 6.5, really good going! The only thing I can thing of is that they are concerned you are achieving this by getting lots of hypos which isn’t a good thing. That’s why time in range is perhaps a more meaningful measurement.

She said it was because of my age, ive been diabetic just over a year, to begin with my A1c was 87, they were going to test for type 1 but didn't bother, I am on insulin just Basel, and ive controlled my diet with low carb diet I do have the odd hypo but with the help of the Libre, my TIR is over the last 3 months between 94 to 97 I don't like being told because I am older I feel fine and don't intend changing what's working for me, despite the DN suggesting I might be able to come off insulin I don't want to, it works for me,

Morning a 7.1 for me and another steady night.
Pleased as one of our monster chippy teas so did take a lot more insulin than normal and juggling some correction doses.Always more difficult when I don't want to go for a walk due to bad weather.
Have annual Appraisal today so a garden centre coffee and cake and a trip to leafy Altrincham.
Despite the weather have a good day

Morning. A terrible 10.9 for me.
Have a great day.

Good morning folks. A Lake District 5.2, but as you’ll see from the graph I had a couple of lows to achieve that. Definitely didn’t hear the alarm at 4am but I did the later one, I ignored it as suspected it was a compression low. After the loo, washing of hands and walking into the kitchen the reading was 4.9, checked on meter 5.8! So who knows?

Misty all day yesterday, then heavy rain, but we got out for three hours and I even got ethereal photos. Forecast mixed today but we’re hoping to get out before the rain and gusty winds start.

It’s a special day for us today, it’s our courting/ meeting/ stepping out together anniversary, we’ve entered our 50th year together! We met on the 5th December 1975, aged just 15, I still feel 15 in my head, my body feels 115 sometimes! A nice walk and a lovely steak dinner cooked by Mr Eggy is how we’ll celebrate. No disco dancing to the Osmonds and Slade at the church youth club where we met, they’ve knocked it down!

Have a great day all.

Just one holiday photo. I’m really proud of this, the only “enhancement” is that I cropped it in from the right. The rest is how it was. Boat house at Rydal Water.

Very acceptable 6.1 for me on waking this morning, so I split my breakfast bolus coz I didn't know what curve balls diabetes was going to throw my way. Just as well, as I was up to 7.7 when I checked after having my morning omelette and coffee, so I took the remaining part of my bolus injection. Diabetes - the gift that keeps on giving...

Good morning! A better 6.7 this morning. I swapped out my Basal (Porcine Isophane) yesterday eveninbg as despite other things going on the last two days have had nasty late afternoon glitches.

Early doors Podiatry this morniong hopefully? (fingers crossed emoji) I have already put in a complaint about yesterday - it is now three waiting an explanation!

Cloudy but milder.

Morning all, 6.1 here.
Some of my blood results were back by yesterday afternoon, including the HbA1c. 48 this year (was 47 last). Libre predicted 47, so pleased with how accurate it seems to be for me.

Good morning everyone

BG 5.4

Yesterday another restful day but my hip definitely felt a lot better by the evening, still some pain on standing any length of time though. Today, better again after sleep, almost no pain, but I'm not going to push it.

So I sit and watch telly...

It's amazing how much drivel there is on the telly. Not only drivel but repeated, repeated, repeated drivel. Not only that but boring repeated drivel. Not only that but boring, repeated, trivial drivel. Can't anyone create better content? We're only thrown the occasional better drama to appease us mere mortals. Sigh.

Today, for tea, cauliflower cheese, yuk! Not my favourite. Oh well, better than nothing. I care not a jot to complain, cos my hip pain has eased off so I am happier. It's really hard to concentrate or do anything when imobilised by pain. Who'd have guessed?

I was starting to get around sitting in a wheelbarrow, pushed by one of my many gardeners!

But surely, on my own estate, to imobilise me further?...

NHS Wheelbarrow.jpg

Have a great day today whatever you are doing. I'm going to look for a motorbike!!!

Good morning 5.7 on this very dark winters morning

@eggyg congrats on todays HS
Congratulations to you & Mr @eggyg on being together for 50 years  <3

we’ve a lot of rain and wind forecast over the next few days
so it will be good to see if that rood is finally watertight

@MikeyBikey hope you get a response to your transportation issues sounds like they let you down big time :thankyou:

Happy Thursday Everyone TC 😎

Morning all. 5.4 here.

WOW @eggyg - what a beautiful pic! Print that one off and hang it on the wall. Happy meet-aversary to you and Mr Eggy.

Fab tree @Pam123, full of Xmas joy!
Thanks. Mr Eggy has already said he’s going to print it and put it on the wall with all his “masterpieces”. I put the photo on a Lake District FB group and I’ve got almost 600 likes and some lovely comments. I feel quite embarrassed.

Morning

5.5 but ate some chocolate yesterday as I was so stressed and anxious, I honestly don’t know why I let work get to me like this.

Anyway nicer things I am doing a crotchet along of a Nutcracker so I’ll post a picture when I am finished.

@eggyg congratulations on your HS and your meeting anniversary. The picture is stunning, I would certainly pay good money for either a print or canvas of that photo.

@Gwynn - I am convinced daytime telly is so bad to make working people who are off sick want to go back to work.
