Group 7-day waking average?

6.4 this morning and still a bit of a cold clinging on. It’s mainly just sore throat and a bit of sinus congestion so nothing too bad.

Bake off - Dylan is remarkable. And he’s 20 ffs. And not only talented but so effortlessly cool as well.

I’m an over ambitious baker when I do bake. I tend to pick complicated recipes that are way beyond my skill level. Needless to say I end up with some very interesting results sometimes

Saw Macbeth last night. David Tennant and Cush Jumbo were magnificent but it’s an odd production technically. The audience have to wear headphones throughout. There’s binaural music, the atmospheric audio effects come through the headphones as well and the performances are full of intimate whispered moments that just wouldn’t work if it weren’t for mics and headphones.

Did it change the experience of being in the audience? Most definitely.

Did it add something to the mental anguish, the soliloquies, the asides etc? Absolutely.

Did it also make it seem like I was watching actors on stage acting a radio play? Yup.

Did it make for an intimate feel? Yes sometimes

Did it make it an isolated, individual experience that removed me from being part of a collective audience that experienced something together? Yes that too.

Ha ha ha @ColinUK brilliant, but the bit up above about applying for Masterchef? Hmm I don't want to become a laughing stock, or a stock of any kind (beef, chicken).

Good morning everyone.

I'm on a roll. BG 5.2 again. All I need to do now is get those lottery numbers right...

Up early at 5am, showered, shaved, cut my hair (a job I hate doing), all clean, neat and tidy again for another year or so.

Still going to rest today, filthy weather anyway, but if I am better and brave and the weather improves, I may wander out to get Sundays tea (fish, M&S of course). If I had won the lottery I could send the butler out to get the Sunday tea.

Have a great day today whatever you are doing

Morning all, 4.8 here. Tempted to go back to sleep again, it looks foul outside, but I’ve got Halfords coming to put a new tyre on the car after I limped home with a slow puncture the other day. Normally I’d have got the local garage to sort it, but one of the mechanics is off this week and they’re snowed under.

Morning all. 5.4 here and I bounced along in the 4s all night long...makes no sense!

It’s veeeeery wild out there. I think it’ll be a short walk this morning.

I had a mad moment a few weeks ago and signed up for a two-day, all-day Welsh course on Zoom. It was free! So, that’s this weekend sorted. More often than not on Zoom there’s a class member that positions their technology so that you’re staring up their nose...I can always stick a post-it over them on my screen, but...really?

Be careful out there, it’s WILD!!

Morning all. I woke to a 4.2 (Bungalow Special @ColinUK?).

What horrible weather, dark, windy and wet. I have to go out in it though to collect some things from mum's house and take them to her. She's in hospital again. No idea which ward as when i last managed to speak to her she was on a trolley in a corridor in MAU. Wish me luck driving there in the rain and wind.

Morning all. 6.4 on this wet and windy day. The weather is rubbish too! o_O

Today is a day for hunkering down, barely above freezing, very heavy rain and Bert is battering the last of the leaves off all the trees.
I’m trying something different tonight for tea, curry goat. Butcher grandson got it for me, they get it in occasionally and it doesn’t sell well, so he got it for free and gave me some. I’m marinating the goat as soon as I’m ready, I have to grind my own spices first to make the Jamaican curry powder.I will be serving it with rice and peas. I have made that before when I made jerk chicken. When I visited Jamaica many years ago I can’t remember curry goat on the menu at all, but I have had goat in Symi, Greece, it wasn’t curried but done in herbs and lots of lemon, it was delicious. Looking forward to it. I love trying out new recipes .

@ColinUK seems like an “interesting” theatre experience. As you know the only culture I get ooop this part of the north, is when my bread goes a bit mouldy! I don’t think I’m missing out on that version of Macbeth!

@Gwynn congratulations on your HS. I was hoping for one today as I’ve never had a hat trick of HSs. Never mind. Maybe one day.

@freesia sorry to hear about your mum.

Have as good a day as you can. Put some stones in your pockets if you’re venturing out.

A round 6 for me this morning. Got a Sainsbos delivery this morning - only one item unavailable - moggie's favourite treats. She'll be raging. :D

Dez

Good morning! A 4.1, time for fun. After getting the last sensor to trigger the Low BG alarm at 5.0 to try and avoid a hypo triggered migraine it seems not to be working after a sensor change.

Supermarket delivery today. Hope the berries have a better date on them as had to complain last week - I didn't want to eat them all that and the next day only!

Cold and grey. Rain forecast by 10:00.

6.0 for me this windy Berkshire morning, although it's not raining yet. Not so elsewhere I see from the news. A BBC reporter in Barnards Castle looked like he was being battered by a blizzard. Our town's annual Winter Carnival tomorrow has been cancelled, which is a shame as it's always so well-attended. They had no choice though, based on the forecast.

My wife and our youngest have gone off to Chichester for an Open Day at the Uni. He was offered a place 2 years ago but decided not to go but has now realised that if he wants a career in the film and tv industries, which has always been his dream, he needs to gain some qualification over and above the Diploma in Creative Media Production he got from Reading College.

@Gwynn congratulations on your HS.

@freesia - hope your mum's getting the care she needs

Hope Bert isn't giving anyone grief. Have a good day and stay safe.

If 5.2 is a HS why don’t we call 4.2 a Bungalow as it’s missing a bit up top!

Clearly we can’t call it a Bungalow Special though as there’s too much BS on this thread to cope with at the best of times!
Would that make 6.2 a town house? If so, heaven knows what would qualify you for an apartment block.

You mean Blood Sugar, of course?

A nice round 5.0 for me this blustery morning.

Congratulations @Gwynn on your HS today - on a roll (is that something to do with Bake Off?)

@ColinUK - love the idea of a Bungalow Special! The Macbeth performance you saw sounds very different, think I would feel a bit isolated from the live performance, but interesting nevertheless!

@freesia - hope everything is ok with your Mum.

Have a good Saturday everyone and stay grounded!

Good morning 6.9 today
congrats on todays HS @Gwynn

think will be staying at home mostly today, like most places the weather looks cold and wet outside, although with that in mind I will see what Mrs @goodybags has planned (we’re both having lazy Saturday lay-ins) maybe I will go for a swim & relax in spa later (before watching football this afternoon) one good thing at least I've got no ironing to do this weekend - having not been out to work last week, will be BTW on Monday.

good tip @eggyg regarding rocks & pockets if we do go out later I will remember that also that’s another reason for me to put on my big coat - more pockets more rocks 😉

I was told by my wife last night I’m now barred from the kitchen sink apparently my washing up isn’t up to standard (but I’m still allowed to load the dishwasher)

Have a great weekend whatever your doing 😎

7.2 for me i did pig out on 2 large sausage rolls last nit so thats the dabetic fairly getting her own back still its not bad

Morning all and 7.2 for me.

Absolutely vile outside. . A total whiteout at 7 but now all turning to slush.

Got a message from MrsKhskel's brother lady night to say he was at hospital. Not heard from him since. She has gone round to see if he's home and feed the cat. NB he only lives round the corner which is just as well this weather.

Have a good day everyone.

5.4 this morning, early start for hubby he took our car for its MOT we were both dreading it after all the trouble we had and it passed with no advisories, not going anywhere today, we shopped for the weekend just in case the car failed, keep warm and safe everyone

Good morning. 6.8

Weather quite windy, 22 mph gusting to 55, but we have had much worse - hope Bert doesn't find more breath later.. Very heavy rain over night, known as "double blobby" in the family, but it has washed away all the ice. I don't mind wellies and waterproofs but I desperately fear slipping.

I decided to give the people the extra 2k. Decided it was worth it to have somebody next door who will willingly look after Peachy and Wolf so I can go away sometimes. So I shall fill in the day playing about with a scale rule and paper. Can't decide if is better to make 2 large bedrooms (with en suite shower rooms) and a 3rd decent double next to a good bathroom or to go for 4 smaller ones with a large family bathroom...probably 3. I've done the kitchen plan - by turning it through 90 degrees it will be 6,x 4ms, lit on both ends and the one remaining old bedroom will make a modest study. Don't need to do much outside as fencing good and stables on site. Looks as if I will be sofa surfing for about a month and the indoor works should only need me to move out while various walls are removed - dust not being good for my COPD. I shall miss my splendid view but keep my excellent neighbours within dog walking distance.

Hope the weather is not causing anyone severe problems.
