Group 7-day waking average?

Morning everyone, a 5.0 for me today after a decent nights sleep for a while.
Wifey’s gone to do her morning shift in a charity shop and I’m only just getting up having had a peaceful lay in.

My BG is being well behaved today as I have an appointment this afternoon with a consultant who will (fingers crossed) record that I am T1 on my medical record. Even though the DSNs at the hospital consider that I am it isn’t officially on my medical record and at my last DSN appointment the nurse said it would be good to get it on my records officially so that I will be eligible for pumps, HCL or anything else that is introduced in the future. Wish me luck everyone! Feeling a bit nervous as I guess there is a chance the consultant could disagree and then I would lose the CGM.

Back in more familiar territory with a 5.4 on a rather grey, damp and misty Berkshire morning. Looks like we might have yet another sunless day ahead. Still mild, though.

Had to smile when I read the paper this morning, with the so-called experts predicting that the US election would come down to the toss of a coin. Puts me in mind of the definition of an 'expert' as 'has been' + 'drip under pressure'.

Our youngest has just headed off for his shift. So good to see him back in work, and with a shift pattern that means his evenings and Saturdays are free for the first time in 3 years.

We're away this weekend so will be spending the day making sure the laundry and ironing is up to date before we start packing tomorrow. It's garden waste collection tomorrow so will also need to clear some more leaves ready for putting the bags out in the morning.

morning all 5.3 this morning laying new hall laminate today, well hubby is I will supervise of course once you start decorating it makes everything else look dull that's my excuse haven't told hubby yet but ive seen a lovely carpet I want for our bedroom, think I will wait until he's finished the hall, treating him to a meal our this evening as a reward for almost a week off home improvements have a great day everyone
 
Morning all on this damp and misty Cornish morning.

7.1 this morning.

Opened the bedroom door and was overpowered with the smell of the Chicken Jalfrezi and sag aloo I made yesterday. Having the remainder tonight - will have to air the house tomorrow before our house-guests arrive in the afternoon!

Today I'm making a flourless chocolate cake and prepping veggies for tomorrow night. Then hopefully meeting friends in the pub early evening - though half the gang are currently away. Seems like November is a popular month for getting away to the sun! Though one of them has only gone to her daughter's in High Wycombe - hardly counts as a sunny venue methinks.

Congratulations to @goodybags @MikeyBikey and @Eternal422 on your HSs. Sorry you've lost yours this morning @eggyg

@Eternal422 fingers crossed you can get officially classified at T1. I do know how much difference it will make after being designated "T2 on insulin" for the first 8.5 years of my diabetic journey.

7 on the nose this a.m. I had a productive afternoon yesterday, which should bag me more income should the pip fail me this time.

I've another appointment at the hospital this afternoon - a biomechanical assessment (something new for me) focusing on my odd feet.

hi this morning looks like back to be back on the hike on top of the mountain a very bad 11.3
the Doc. want to try out a different insulin till now on the novo rapid after trying out 2 different tipss this was the best bot i guess all of the good things have a end and my body wants/needs a different tip now so will see whats the best for it hoppe will find one and not that i should just take more insulin im now by 5u for a100 whats pretty bad so will see i hope the nhs will continue to give me so much insulin in case i really need to take more😉
 
Well this morning's basal test seemed ok. I did the 6am-12pm session and it stayed between 6.8 and 8.4 so i think that is ok. I might try the afternoon test Friday, other than that it will be next week. Mind you, after finishing the test, eating lunch (i was starving) and doing the food shop i ended up hypo half an hour ago. It just shows what pushing a dodgy trolley with a weeks worth of shopping in can do. Plus hopping in and out of the car as i thought i'd lost my car keys (i was sitting on them😳)

Thank you! Just back from the hospital and not such good news :(. The consultant took my medical history and said she didn’t think it was T1, at least not a typical T1. She didn’t think the original GP had tried enough oral medication after metformin failing to do anything. She has ordered a c peptide and GAD antibody test (which will presumably not show anything now after 22 years from initial symptoms presentation). But the c peptide will show whether I am producing any insulin or not.

I feel like the rug has been pulled from under my feet. Worried about losing insulin and control (which is ideal at the moment as the consultant said). It will take a while though as she will not see me again until 3 months after the blood test. I guess if the c peptide is zero then it will mean I am not producing any insulin and therefore definitely T1?

In feel for you as I am equally frustrated about my foot problem. If you are doing well on insulin and are happy to continue it does not matter one inch if you are Type, Type 2 or a newly discovered Type 4D! The Limb Fitting consultant recommends they try manuka honey dressings but my Health Trust will not even give it a try and will not even be consistent in what they do. Good luck!

Very true, although the consultant was suggesting using tablets rather than insulin, a route I very much don’t feel will be good for me. I have managed to view my old medical records and did see that in addition to Metformin I was put on Glibenclamide for a year before the sky rocketing HbA1c forced being switched to insulin.

If I were a consultant, and a person was happy and well controlled on insulin I would leave be. Apart from hypos where the insulin/food/exercise ratio is wrong insulin is virtually free from side effects. The various drugs seem to have varying issues like wind. constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, UITIs, etc.
