We’re gonna need a bigger step.

5.2! Not had one of those in yonks!

Ridiculously cultural day yesterday. New version of Count of Monte-Cristo in a cinema with only 4 others (it’s fantastically good!), popped in to the National Gallery to chill in front of some of my fav paintings and then La Traviata rehearsal at Covent Garden in the evening.

Wedding to attend today. It’s village fete themed and largely outside. I’m wearing very summery clothes… linen trousers etc… I’ll take an umbrella and a bucket load of hope.

Wow @eggyg I need a lie down after reading about your day.
6.5 for me going up to 8.1 now but was 5 something before I accidentally redecorated the kitchen with laundry conditioner. 😱
Off to Southampton boat show for a site visit for the charity as we are having a stand there this year. Need to have steel toe cap shoes, high vis jacket and life jacket. The last might be necessary anywhere with the amount of rain we've had and are forecast.
Off to Goodwood revival tomorrow, might need towing INTO the car park never mind out! (Low slung car) all part of the fun
Have fun everyone (duck emoji)

Woken up just after 6 by a raging thunderstorm - thunder every few minutes and torrential rain - that went on for the best part of an hour. Stopped now but it's very wet out there and forecast to stay that way. Hard to believe that a week ago we were enjoying the sunshine in Fowey. 5.7 when I tested and weekly BP check 135/73.

Congrats @Wendal @goodybags @ColinUK & @Robin on your HSs this morning.

Friday is Big Shop Day but having lost our colleague discount at Sainsbury's now that our eldest has left it might be a mishmash of supermarkets depending on who's cheapest for this or that. We have a Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Waitrose, Aldi & LIDL all within a mile and a bit. I'm sure there must be an App that compares prices across all of them - anyone know?

Hope no one's having to mop up this morning.

Good morning! Had a short lie in after yesterday's physio. Woke to a 4.7 which went to a Heinz (5.7) with FOTF. Must be an HS there somewhere!

No appointments till next Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday - Monday silly o'clock and other two days early doors! :(

Vey grey with mist, fog and drizzle. Quite horrible in fact!

After a night a the pub consuming too many crisps and a few beers, I was pleased to see a 5.1 this morning.

When you retire you can go to OLDI!

Well done to all today's House Specialists. I'm just 2 steps down with a nice round 5. 🙂

There used to be a website designed for online grocery shopping that did exactly that. You selected your first choice and put everything you wanted in your basket. Then it compared everything with other supermarkets that would deliver to your postcode so you could see any savings clearly.
It’s gone to the great web in the sky now.
Speaking personally, Sainsbury’s is the most expensive supermarket around here. It’s regularly beaten on price, and quality, by both Waitrose and M&S.

Anywhere’s cheaper than Sainsbury’s! They came out only second to Waitrose for being the most expensive. I do a mix of Aldi, Tesco and my local butcher/fishmonger.

A steady 6.4 for me this morning. My new MM780G seems to be managing overnights similarly well to my old tSlim - which I’m very relieved about.

Absolutely tonking it down when my ‘walk the dog early’ alarm went off, so I grabbed an extra 45 mins under the duvet!

Big HS congratulations to @Wendal @goodybags @ColinUK & @Robin :fanfare: :fanfare: :fanfare:

Good morning. 6.2

Dark, thick mist, awaiting another downpour. Vile. Woke several times in night with the horrors. Eventually got up, had a large bowl of yoghurt, fruit and nuts, and managed to sleep. Probably result of daughter ringing needing cheering up - think we just moved the gloom westwards to me. I am struggling a bit with the thought that even if we get a good outcome it will be spring before we can take hope. Oh well like falling off a horse - pull up the breeks and get back on...Speaking of which my jeans are getting quite loose so diet seems to be working.

Congratulations to all those 5.2s - what a nice sight.

Have a good Friday all.

Good morning everyone, It's a happy 5.4 for me today. congrats to the four HSs.

Have a good day folks and stay safe.
.

it a 5.2 for me today Joining all you House Specials today congrats to you all, shopping trip for us have my fingers crossed the car is ok today but must confess I am a little bit concerned, all being well its booked in with BMW for a health check on the 16th then were putting it through its MOT early, not due until December but hubby doesn't want to be messing about if needed with it in cold weather, to be honest with all the new major parts we've replaced it should be fine, hope everyone has a good day

The grocers 33 takes a different set of 33 items each week and compares prices across supermarkets.
It also compares various other aspects like service layout, item availability etc etc.
Most stuff on the site is paywalled, but the grocers 33 page can give an overall comparison. The site has been going for years and years.
I don't know what access registering for an account provides, I've never bothered

We have Lidl, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons within roughly 2 miles. I find Sainsbury most expensive although they do price match stuff with Aldi, but those products tend to be of very basic quality. I do about half my shop in Lidl and either Tesco or Morrisons for the rest. Depends if we want bread. Morrisons bake a loaf we like. Tesco veg are better than all the others. Though we do patronise Sainsbury's when they have 25% off wine if you buy 6. Sainsburys veg are dire, but their potatoes are better than the other stores.
