Feeling scared

@corriefan feeling nervous is ok.We often do better if we are slightly nervous rather than over confidant you are just showing it's something you care about.
Have you already been to the nursery for a visit?
I have had two extractions by my current dentist and I would describe myself as terrified of dentists but he has told me what he's doing and made sure he's numbed the area and first one he did he'd removed the wisdom tooth without me realising. I am always nervous when I go but I think I appear calm and I'm pleased to say I am no longer terrified. Good luck.

I had assumed it was happening this week. Obviously you will have a chance to meet some of the staff and see some of the routines on a visit before the assessor comes. That's good. It means you are likely to be relaxed.

Thank you yes sorry being organised lol I have to do 25 hours xx

I'm feeling nervous about volunteering at my baby placement because never worked with babies it's a new nursery not my usual one and my assessor wants to come out to observe me do 2 activities.also got my tooth extraction on Wednesday x
Well volunteering sounds like a great way to get some experience working with babies! The nursery knows that you're a volunteer and has a responsibility to the babies not to ask you to do anything beyond your capabilities.

How's your mouth now? It took a few days for the pain to start easing after my recent extraction.

Thank you for replying.ive got my extraction on Wednesday but not in any pain at moment , going under local anesthetic as being diabetic I'm not scared of needles x

Perfectly normal to feel nervous and a bit scared of a new assignment in a different environment. You will be supervised while you learn so don't worry. They won't be expecting you to have any experience and should give you plenty of support.
Good luck with the tooth extraction. You will feel so much better once the initial soreness wears off. Just remember not to have any hot drinks until the numbness completely disappears. I used to sip warm water wit lemon through a straw. Tastes nicer than it sounds and quite soothing.

Sorry, I misunderstood: I thought you'd already had the extraction. One thing you may want to consider: my dentist gave me an antibiotic then and there (and a course for a week) as a precaution with my recent extraction, because of me being Type 1 Diabetic. The combination of that and the local anaesthetic left me feeling very tired for at least 24 hours: I don't know if that might affect your timetable in terms of the nursery?

I was warned not to use a straw for at least 24 hours, to avoid disturbing the blood clot.

Can't believe tonmorow is day off tooth extraction so nervous don't think I will sleep
Ask the dentist for the tooth. Put it under your pillow for the Tooth Fairy.
Seriously, you have done so well. Put some nice relaxing music on and try some deep breathing exercises. It will help you relax and rest even if you don't sleep as well as normal.
This time tomorrow it will all be over. Sending you virtual hugs :care:

You deserve a hairdresser who isn't rude: "The customer is always right" x
