Feeling scared

@corriefan I've always been scared of dentists. We used to move a lot as children and I was always allowed to go in first. I had a younger brother and sister as I tensed up listening to the sound of the drill. When I was 20 I made an appointment for a check up and the dentist told me to stop shaking as he hadn't done anything yet ... A few years later I had horrendous toothache starting on a Friday evening and not able to go to a dentist till the Wednesday as there were two bank holidays. I had a root filling that was beautifully done and not scary. Sadly after a few check ups I moved and went to a dentist when I had another root filling. I then didn't go to a dentist for more than 25 years. However I now have a lovely dentist and apart from the dreaded hygienist apart from two teeth out in 5 years, first a very difficult to reach wisdom and later one on opposite side next to wisdom tooth, offered a root filling but couldn't face it.

When I was a kid I had a tooth out because my mouth was too small. Mask with anaesthetic. My dentist is very experienced. I suspect I had extra anaesthetic jabs and he waited till they worked and he took each one out [ three years apart] quickly and painlessly.

I'm still nervous but I'm not scared. Good luck
Thank you so much xx

Well done! You put me to shame. I am still procrastinating. Thankfully both of mine seem to have settled down quite a bit allowing me to to keep putting it off of course! If I was in pain I would no doubt be banging down their door to help me.
Thank you it's so hard finding time to go to the dentist xx

I had a molar (the lower left seven, so not an easy one to get to) out on Wednesday under local anaesthetic: I didn't feel a thing and it's settled down already 🙂.
Thank you for your reassurance xx

Thank you for replying yes I emailed the nursery this afternoon asking if a decision has been made as I'm enthusiastic but not heard anything x
At least you have made contact, don't worry as they may only look at e-mails at certain times, i.e. first thing in the morning.

So pleased and really hope it gives you the experience you need to open new doors for you. Well done for persevering and chasing it up.

Thank you scared about doing my baby placement as never worked with babies but it's needs so I pass my level 3 x

@corriefan the babies won't know. Try and relax and enjoy the work you want to do. Years ago I went through a stressful time at work and if I felt stressed I used to let a song go through my head. The one I loved was " if I only had a brain" it's a real oldie from the Wizard of Oz. We had sung excerpts in a concert with a choir I was in. Obviously you must pay attention to any instructions and your surroundings but there may be a song where thinking of a few lines will cheer you up or relax you or make you believe in yourself.

Thank you that's a good idea xx

..... Or better still singing it out loud as it may sooth the babies as well as ease your nerves..... well as long as your chosen song isn't something like "Bat out of Hell" by Meatloaf!! 🙄

"My favourite things"is a cheerfully one from the sound of music. You could hum!
If i only had a brain is here. It is an easy tune
